My son managed an Aldi for a few years. What most people don't know is that many of the Aldi "knockoffs" aren't really...they are made by the same companies that make the brand name stuff. ..I love Aldi! Good prices, good food....good for ME!!
When anyone buys Aldi's brands, if there's something they don't like, for any reason, it can be returned; Aldi gives your money back, and gives you a new 2nd package of whatever it was. Also, because they're a European company, their food-production places are under much stricter food guidelines than the U.S. has; as far as what types of chemicals & other non-food products are allowed to be in people'sfood. Most Aldi (and Lidl) grocery products have less calories & more nutrition per serving than comparable food produced/packaged in the U.S.
Hint: Open your chip bags from the bottom. All the seasoning settles during transport and storage, when you open them from the bottom it redistributes it and you get better flavor.
That's a good way to wind up with all your chips on the floor if somebody doesn't pay attention to which end is open. It happened to me one time with a loaf of bread. We were on a picnic and all our sandwiches got dirty! Not the worst picnic I've been on, but it ranks right up there.
love aldi... I used to be "that" person that would only use mainly name brand products until I actually boycotted walmart and started trying aldi products. love most of their product!! and prices can't be beat
I’ve been boycotting Walmart for years. I currently work for one of their competitors. You can easily match Walmart savings if you are an astute shopper, at Aldi, Costco, and other local chains that have savings & coupon programs.
OK um the Aldi's brand is actually made by the companies that make the name brand ones. They change things slightly to make them for Aldi's. Some make them better because of Aldi's standards. My uncle works for a name brand company.
I had this argument with my sister just the other day. Great Value (Wal Mart) does not own & operate a whole potato chip factory. They contract out to Frito-Lay. For example - after a production run of Lays Sour Cream & Onion potato chips are done, the packing is switched over to Great Value branded bags, and #2 potatoes (because the prettier, fresher #1 potatoes were used earlier by Frito-Lay) are then sliced & dropped into the SAME OIL (only now slightly used) dried on the same line & seasoned in the same hopper - bagged & boxed by THE SAME machines.
Aldi's incontinence products are really good too, way cheaper than the brand name products, and I find the Aldi's brand more comfortable on a day to day basis...
The problem I have with ‘non brands’ however is the itchiness. I don’t know what the difference is in the product but my hooha does not like the coating of the non branded products. It is not good to me (ok when it’s not too hot, and once in a while, but cannot use on the regular). I also think it’s slightly unfair about the amount of liquid as Always has some different absorbing properties (and normally super good at keeping you dry feeling). But fair play, I would go to aldi if I could wear them because they are indeed way cheaper!
A lot of the time the products are made in the same factory, it's just that the pricier brand will have more of certain ingredients than the cheaper ones. Here in NZ we have strict food laws and there's a lot that isn't allowed in our food. I'm always amazed at the ingredient lists of some American foods.
The thing is, even if they weren't as good as the original, they only cost a fraction of the brand name and I can take some points off quality for a better price.

The trash bag comparison wasn't a like for like...force flex with a scent to a regular bag? Nah... Regular glad bags are the same as the aldi regular bags.
Although I'm Canadian and don't have Aldi, and prices are crazy expensive here for garbage bags, (don't have a Costco here either) I prefer the better quality and the scented bags even if they are so expensive. We only use 1/2 kitchen sized bag of garbage weekly now that it's just 2 of us, but IF we happen to cook meat or something could smell, out it goes right away. We don't cook much so I guess spending more on those isn't a huge deal for us anymore.

I have never had Nutella! And until about a month ago, I thought it was pronounced Nut-ella. I like chocolate, but am not a fan of hazelnuts. And I just don't get chocolate on bread.
I went to Aldi’s a few days ago and saw these shakes. I wondered if they were as good as the premier protein which are also my favorite. Makes a great base for smoothies and even use it as creamer for tea and coffee. Now I know the Aldo brand will do just fine. Thanks Vivian! You’re a MF professional!
Love ALDI. We shopped there when we lived in Germany and Australia, now in the US too. Their seasonal German stuff like chocolates and Nurnburger sausages are fantastic. Look for the Deutsche Kuche logo with German flag.
One thing I won’t skimp on is my trash bags. I love me some good smelling Glad bags. Makes a huge difference. But knock off Nutella all day everyday. Oh and I do eat it almost everyday.
Sams has the dup version of Glad including smell and “ stretch tech” they work fine. The Hawaiian rolls I agree with you !!!!! I noticed the more center the rolls were, the softer they were, more like the original. Maybe Aldis ovens are too high? 😂 I never had Nutella bc I was too cheap to try, until I tried Aldis brand and I LOVE it! Thanks for the review on the protein shake, my husbands bariatric surgeon recommended the same coffee hack 👍🏽 but my hubby swears he can always tell when its brand vs dup, he doesn’t know how many times I’ve tricked him 🤣 Love you Vivian!!!
Aldi’s has so many great deals. There are some things I just need to have the name brand. Don’t mess with my Lucky Charms! I always buy knock off trash bags. I’m not paying high prices for something that’s literally going in the trash. Love you Vivian
The thing about Nutella is that it dosnt taste like hazelnut, it tastes like cocoa. It may be a combination of the tastes but it is good. I had always seen it but never tried it until I was in my 30s then when I tried it I was in love lol and you’d be surprised at what it tastes good on.
I've never used trash bags, when I go to food store I ask for paper. When I go home I use those paper sacks as my trash bag. Better for the environment don't use plastic!
“Go to the nearest emergency room if you experience severe, acute bleeding in which you soak through four or more pads or tampons in a two-hour period. 1 If you are pregnant, seek immediate medical care if you have any menstrual bleeding.” Googled it lol
I bleed heavy every month. It sucks but it's because I have PCOS the drs said. It used to be really bad till like last year. Now I bleed heavy for a day and the lite for the next 2 or 3 days.
Started when I was 11, went for 12 to 14 days and could go through a maxie pad in a half hour! Missed so much school and finally when I was 16 I was put on birth control. It got me on schedule and I could for the first time use tampons. My doctor had to argue with my mom tho to get her permission to put me on it. When I turned 47 I got laser surgery on my uterus and threw all that stuff away!
1st timer. I found you informing, and interesting, entertaining. (?)the Nutella, you should check out on TH-cam how they make that ! There’s no real amount of hazelnuts to say that stuff has good morning nutrition to run any child’s school morning.
The garbage bags, big difference when your cleaning up the trash off the kitchen floor or across the drive.only glad for me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣tried way to many cheap brands that failed me.lol
Aldi has trash bags that are scented, stretchy, and have the drawstring cord thing at the top that make them a total dupe to the brand name ones. So good.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! You always make me feel that I’m not just wasting time watching junk on my phone. Your content is hands down, the best on TH-cam. I’m so jealous of everyone….Sadly, there’s only one Aldi here in Vermont and it’s in a town that’s well known for crime and drugs. I would really like to check it out, however, it’s a long, 2hr drive, on very rural, back country roads, away from where I live. Hopefully, Aldi will consider adding another store in our state, somewhere in the area of our highly popular city of Burlington.
I have noticed time and time again that store brands are not just cheap knockoffs, they are sometimes better. I think when a brand becomes so well known they start to slide on quality, because they know their name will get people to buy and spend a heck of a lot more. Those pads are a perfect example! The results didn't surprise me at all.
Aldi now has scented trash bags and they also have the drawstrings. We get Aldi’s brand cinnamon toast crunch and it’s $1.99/ box and it’s perfect. I have a suggestion: in my family, hummus is a good group. Aldi’s red pepper hummus vs Sabra. To me, the Aldi actually taste more like homemade. Also solid white tuna in water is the absolute best on the market. Please give it a try. It’s the one with the red on the label.
Aldi trash bags are my favorite!!! They sell the ones with draw string too. They’ve never failed me. I bought name brand bags in a pinch and I’m always disappointed.
I have recently been having a LOT of problems with incontinence until I can reach the bathroom. I have bought adult pull-ups but while they do absorb, the sides leak. I have been considering using pads and after seeing this demonstration, I’m going to Aldi’s and getting a package of these and giving them a try. Thank you for this demonstration.

The Lime Tostedos are so great! I've tried so many other brands of lime chips including Aldi, Late July, etc, but the Tostedos are definitely worth the extra money.
We have used pads as ice packs. Camping trips. We just put water on them, throw them in the cooler for a little bit and good to go. It really does work good!! Lol
The fig bars at Aldi taste better than Fig Newtons. The vanilla wafers taste like the name brand. We also have the German store Lidl. Their version of Nutella tastes the same to me
Lidl is, in my opinion, better than Aldi. I don’t know where you are, but in the uk they have an in store bakery, and their rolls & bread are crazy good.
@@deeprose4 I’m in USA....the state of Pennsylvania. I totally agree that Lidl is better than Aldi. I don’t buy bakery items though. The store is cleaner and the food seems fresher.

I have never had Nutella! And until about a month ago, I thought it was pronounced Nut-ella. I like chocolate, but am not a fan of hazelnuts. And I just don't get chocolate on bread.
Same! Lol
It is - only Americans say it as new-tella. It doesn't make phonetic sense.
@@tracybeeeee Idk, a Canadian TH-camr's video is the one that said it's supposed to be nu-tella. Or did you mean all North Americans?
@@flowrpowrera sure.
@@flowrpowrera just nuts. Nut-tella.
Fun fact... chocolate frosting has less calories, fat, and sugar than Nutella.
😵I am shook!
I've never had Nutella!
I’m not a woman but I want those pads🤣🤣
Lol!!!
🤣Guess that can be utilized in another way

I went to Aldi’s a few days ago and saw these shakes. I wondered if they were as good as the premier protein which are also my favorite. Makes a great base for smoothies and even use it as creamer for tea and coffee.
Now I know the Aldo brand will do just fine. Thanks Vivian! You’re a MF professional!
Lol!
The Walmart brand Nutella is really good.
Boulder has the stretch scented bags too. I got the lavender scented stretch. I think for 40 bags was $6.99. But for glad it's usually $9-10
I have never had Nutella. I use Sam’s club version of flex glad bags.
Sam's paper towels are good too.
Toilet paper too.
Not tried the tp. We have an older home and use the 1000 sheet kind. If we go fancy, the kids block the sewer. 🤣🤣🤣
Same with the Nutella. Like why is it necessary?
I second all of these sam's products!
I was disappointed in the knife not being in the top of Nutella.
I use the Glad.
I have to have name brand Jif. That is a must. I am good with Aldi's Nutella, and many of their products are great.
Aldi had Lucky Charms this week.
It's just that they ain't afraid of using the palm oil in the Nutella factory😂😂
this is true. and do some research about palm oil... how it's manufactured.
Been burned too many times with knock off trash bags leaking and ripping - I'm team Glad Forceflex trash bags!
I never had it and I just heard about it 8 years ago, I don't like hazelnut.
The thing about Nutella is that it dosnt taste like hazelnut, it tastes like cocoa. It may be a combination of the tastes but it is good. I had always seen it but never tried it until I was in my 30s then when I tried it I was in love lol and you’d be surprised at what it tastes good on.
I have had Nutella but wasn’t a fan. But I don’t like hazelnut either.
I've never had Nutella and I would have to be starving to eat it. I will always try the Aldi brand; it's the only way to find out if I like it.
I've never used trash bags, when I go to food store I ask for paper. When I go home I use those paper sacks as my trash bag. Better for the environment don't use plastic!
Don’t they leak?
No ma’am Vivian I haven’t ever had Nutella hazelnut spread 🌰
Aldi's best cereal dupe is the Crunch berry one. I prefer it to Cap'n Crunch.
If you have a Food Lion grocery store try their store brand lime chips. They are only $1 and taste great!
“Go to the nearest emergency room if you experience severe, acute bleeding in which you soak through four or more pads or tampons in a two-hour period. 1 If you are pregnant, seek immediate medical care if you have any menstrual bleeding.”
Googled it lol
My daughter has hemophilia, so we see the drs on a “monthly” schedule.
I bleed heavy
I bleed heavy every month. It sucks but it's because I have PCOS the drs said. It used to be really bad till like last year. Now I bleed heavy for a day and the lite for the next 2 or 3 days.
A lot of women have fibroids which is no joke, had them and almost bled to death till I had my hysterectomy in 2007.
I have used Aldi’s trash bags for 20+ years, I have never had one break or leak on me. They are awesome!!!
Aldi has trash bags that are scented, stretchy, and have the drawstring cord thing at the top that make them a total dupe to the brand name ones. So good.
It's a beautiful morning in Tokyo today. Have a wonderful day, Vivian! ❤️
Hey ViV the citrus smell repels pest 🙂 u can do this with orange peels to can extract the oils or just put them in ur trash!!!
And mint oil too for rodents!
Ty!!!
Wow and just tried Blossom pads last month cause I was looking for cheaper option. It's good to know I chose right. 🤭
Even though there’s no Aldi in Canada, I appreciate your video.
I have shopped at aldi since the mid 90's. My kids have grown up eating aldi and they hate when I shop anywhere else. #lovealdi
Kroger tortilla chips are bomb and so cheap! Thanks for making these comparison videos!
I always buy aldi Hawaiian rolls ! I refuse to pay $4 + for the original . When you warm them up they are delish ! 😋
Vivian Where have you been all my life????? I stumbled upon your clips and girlllll whatever your selling I’m buying. Subscribed now and just going to have to binge watch. Love Kimberly from Australia 💜
I never shopped Aldis until my friend took me there. It is great and I'm retired. Their prices can't be beat.
Great presentation !! Great sense of humor! Thank you for thanking the time to do the video😎😀
I just loving watching your video, you are so honest.😃
""YOU FAINTED"". OMG. Girl., that was 😂 hilarious. Ahhh! Love Vivian !
Try Aldi's Clancy BBQ chips too, sooo good!
You provide an extremely balanced presentation. It is very appreciated. 1st video of yours I have seen. GREAT ENERGY> Off to binge watch more and new subscriber!!!
🙂 thank you Jennifer
The Lime Tostedos are so great! I've tried so many other brands of lime chips including Aldi, Late July, etc, but the Tostedos are definitely worth the extra money.
Tostitos.
Scented trash bags? No thanks, don't want an artificial citrus on top of trash smell. Also in my country Always tried to introduce scented period pads a few years ago, but no-one bought them because you're not supposed to smell like laundry sheets during periods.
Walking my dog past houses, the smell of laundry detergent & drier sheets is so INTENSE and people wonder why they get sick over time & allergies
Vivian: Raise your hand if you have never had Nutella

Very informative. I really like the fact that you get to the point. I don’t have to listen to ten minutes of bull before you get to the point.
🙋🏻♀️ I’ve never had Nutella. I haven’t been to Aldis in forever, guess I’m going today lol
Oh an I never had Nutella.🤓
