    Great video! Some aspects of shipping items that I would have liked more info on would be the type of labels and label maker you use and where you get the air pockets.

      Hi Leaf!
      I realized I left a few things out of this video. I do have a video planned within the next week or two which will show off all the supplies and EVERYTHING we use in our store. I will elaborate more on the label printer, labels, and everything I missed in this video as well as all the bins and drawers and everything we use. Thanks for watching Leaf!

    Uline is just north of us, within a mile of where we live, but they have no pick-up option that is free, and I refuse to pay shipping for cardboard to be taken a few blocks in distance. Bags, I just pick up at Walmart, or Hobby Lobby, or Daiso, but we don’t need those in the quantities you use. We also order bags from Bradley Bag in Downey, CA. Boxes we order from Quill, based in IL.

    Great video as usual. I personnally re-use Lego bags for packing pieces. To make sure pieces do not move, I use a sealing machine (no vaccuum though) to make the bag fit a lot. I sometimes use a bigger bag and « seal » it multiple times, creating small containers for different lots. This helps in making sure I don’t go over the 20mm restriction we have on the thickness of the mailer here in Canada. It does add time to process the order though. I’m currently tracking the time it takes to pack an order, and eventually, I could compare with Evan ;-) (if he tracks the packing time).

      Hi Hugo!
      I have seen a lot of people using the heat sealer to pack pieces. This might be something we need to look into in the future, but I am worried that it does take a lot longer than just tossing the parts in a bag. I track time, but not specific enough to know how long an order takes. Instead I just track whether or not I am "clocked in" or "clocked out." Thanks for watching Hugo!

    I have been following your videos this week ... I hope this question is not already covered in a newer posting!
    I have not opened a store yet (in verification). I have a question about shipping/handling. I am good with following some of the guidance for USPS + small up-charge for most items, however I plan to be listing some new sets (like UCS Death Star, UCS Star Destroyer), I will not ship those for $10 without insurance. Is there a way to require a quote for certain lots while still allowing instant checkout for normal bricks?
    Thanks so much and keep cranking out videos!

    I love the stamp idea! One thing that was a game changer for me was figuring out how priority mail cubic shipping worked. Not sure if you use that or not, but it's great for orders that can't ship first class due to weight.

    I use 5x6 bags and seal with a heat sealer.its very cheap also you can seal up to the parts to stop them moving in the bubble mailers

    Another great video! I really like your storage solution for all your boxes and bubble envelopes. The plastic bags the best ones are from uline as far as quality but the most expensive. The DiRose ones are the ones I buy. The Walmart ones are very poor quality. Is uline too far of a drive for you? Also as far as their prices if you buy enough you can ask them to lower their prices and try to match other places.

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ULINE is about 45 minutes away but they still charge a pickup fee of $25, so at that point, it is worth just shipping the items to me overnight which ended up being about $35 for all the boxes in the last order. Thanks for the price match suggestion as well! I'll have to try it out!

      @@JustABrickInTheBucket pickup fee? They never had a pick-up fee when I used to go there. It has been a while that is just ridiculous.

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it is a $25 Will-Call fee. I picked some stuff up for work a couple years ago and as far as I can remember, there was no fee. I wonder if part of it is because of COVID? Maybe there are trying to have fewer people in and out of the warehouse... Not sure. So for now, shipping it is! haha.

Buy your mIlers from aliexpress. Most of the amazon poly sellers are dropshipping off ali for 4 x's the price. Just order a month out.

    Heads up- you can use a larger label on a smaller box. Folding the label over the side of the box is O.K. It works best if you fold it where the address is on 1 side and the barcode is on the other. You can also cut the label, instead of folding it.

    • @JustABrickInTheBucket
      @JustABrickInTheBucket  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Michael! We fold it over on the little boxes we have. I haven't thought about cutting it. Thats a pretty good idea! Thank you, might have to try that.
