Very well said. Anyone that says Andor is slow wasn't paying attention because every single scene is packed with development and exploration delivered through masterful dialogue.

Andor, more like FANdor (because it’s fantastic, I’m told. I wouldn’t know tho, I’ve never watched it)

I wanted to write an argument about extremes, but TH-cam deletes the comments I wrote due to inappropriateness.

I couldn't agree more. Andor IS Star Wars, and there hasn't been as compelling or as layered a story as this one. It's rare to get to witness the Empire's infrastructure and naiveté regarding these rebel cells and their violent acts to undermine and overthrow the government. And especially during a tumultuous time in America where we are so divided, Andor is the PERFECT allegory to modern struggles with a tyrannical govenment that is systematically removing the rights of citizens.

I think you did a great job explaining the purpose and beauty of the show. THIS is star wars, the struggle and sacrifice to be free, to fight! A show without jedi and sith and the force and still feels like the most authentic star wars we have ever had. One of my favorite stories in this show which isnt mentioned much is Mon Mothma, she may be a senator but the fact she even has to make sacrifices as well. She cant talk or trust her husband, and she risks her daughter marrying the son of a n unethical businessman all to support the rebellion. Its neat because both her, a galatic senator, and the people of a small outer rim planet, sacrifice their whole way of life just purely for the hope of a better future for all. That is the story of star wars, not all the force stuff or big action scenes. It is hope, hope will forever be the story ofstar wars. This show absolutely nails it on the head, the only thing stronger than fear is hope.

While I do not agree that Andor is definitively Star Wars or even at its best, it is hard to acknowledge the unique brand of storytelling that is at play in Andor. I have issues with the pacing and overall type of brand of storytelling that is being used. Much like Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew, it is approaching Star Wars from a different vantage point. I feel the monologuing could be toned down a little bit. I love characters talking to each other but a lot of times the dialogue feels one-sided on one particular character. It doesn't quite hit the mark for me but I am glad people are enjoying and coming to Star Wars because of it. It was really cool to see Andor on ABC and Hulu, places it wasn't before. It does give something that left something to be desired in me. There isn't anything that is definitively Star Wars. It can mean different things to different people and I am glad we are getting different kinds of Star Wars stories.

Andor Resembles the type of Edgy, Gritty, Morally Gray, Nihilistic etc. style movie popular around the time ANH released in 1977(stuff like the Taxi Driver, Dirty Harry etc.) than Star Wars itself. George Lucas made SW explicitly to get away from that pessimistic, nihilistic way of story telling and head more toward hopeful, heroic, adventurous style of storytelling. People don't say Andor doesn't feel like SW because it's bad or because it doesn't have Lightsabers, Jedi, Force etc. but because it missing the whole point George was going for when he made SW to begin with.

the original trilogy is but a prequel to Andor. This is the real story.

One of the best series I've ever watched! Nothing's perfect, however Andor is flawless. Can't wait for Andor season 2!

Honestly, Andor is what I wanted from Star Wars back in 1999. The turning of a good man to evil, and the extermination of an order of knights, as spoken of by old Ben, are heavy things. And it seemed only fitting that such gravitas would be reflected in the tone of the films.
But Lucas chose another path. In the beginning, the heart of Star Wars was overcoming the oppression of an evil Empire, and Andor's been true to that in every way. It's been a long wait for this type of SW, but so far, it's been very satisfying.
