i feel the little eyeball mouse is the captain and im hoping the first order comes in like "yo whose stealing my money" and beats Jod for all the things he said in ep. 7
Alternatively since he is not a full bore Jedi there may be a plot twist where the droids just stun him into submission once he tries. For his own safety ;)
@@tucmakukla he is against literal horde of droids... think arena fight in Attack of the clones. Only thing that keeps him safe is his charade as republis envoy, which is not going to hold for long...
@thimovijfschaft3271 I doubt the republic was considering rogue Jedi trying to rob the mint when they set up the security measures. When At-attin was founded, the Jedi were very much an extension of Republic authority. Fallen Jedi would have been something the Order would be expected to handle.
@@ewok40k honestly these droids seem even dumber than the clankers. He’ll probably cut through a few for a cool action scene and then be stopped by the kids with some trick. I doubt the next episode is going to open with him getting stunned as he’s seemingly the main villain now
The question posited "Can these pirates find a shred of empathy" has been answered already. 33 was literally programmed to be a pirate. Loot, plunder, murder, all of it. When he sucker punches Silvo, he's on the kids side. This haggard, menacing droid decides takesy-backsies is a good argument, because Fern is his captain, and even more, she's not a pirate.
I think 33 is the original captain, and isnt running on a programmed pirate code. Proven by his actions. He wanted the treasure for himself. Killed the cold crew, but the crashed the ship at the door to the prize, by the time he reactivates hes already off world and beyond quickly returning. Scrambled and in poor condition. He was found at the door handle for crying out loud. Hell be back.
When Jod lashed out at the kids he was venting traumatically. He was telling himself he was weak to remind himself he needs to put weakness inside him away for good. He was regressing to the moments he began to become a ruthless opportunist when he was a kid. The kids have triggered him and the parental messages probably did as well. He’s losing control. He’s fighting himself. The question is how long will getting all he wants getting so close will distract him from inner conflicts. If he does have redemption it will be a split second decision like Darth Vader had to decide to throw the emperor down a shaft. Great show
I was thinking about that, too. Maybe he wasn't really yelling at them, but probably remembering a dark part when he was taken by Pirates as a youngling, I can kinda see his face close to tears too
One thing we've established is that he is a liar. Specifically, he lies about himself, who and what he is. I don't think he is really a pirate in the same way he isn't really a Jedi. He plays the role of Jedi in front of the kids because it is to his advantage. He plays the role of pirate in front of pirates because that is to his advantage. He wears identities like someone would wear a cheap jacket. He had every reason and opportunity to kill Fern during the "battle to the death" for captainship. An actual pirate whose only interest is the greedy pursuit of profit would. He chose not to. That's because around the kids he comes a lot closer to being his true self. When he was threatening them he was lying again. He was playing the role of pirate, but he isn't one. Let that sink in.
@@asArsenicJod wearing the Silvo helmet again seems silly, but helmets are transformative in Star Wars as in Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and in the Acolyte. He is an actor more than a liar. He’s acting out trauma in a chaotic world where survival and opportunism are the way to make it another day. I don’t think he’s in control of his performances all the time. Especially now that he’s reliving personal moments in his head and is fighting inner conflicts that he may have thought were resolved.
I don’t think it was directly, I think sm33 just wanted an excuse to side with the kids and punch Jod. Notice how he didn’t try to save Jod in the airlock.
@LucyTandy-moorhouse SM33 probably has a high degree of free will and very sentient. He hasn't had a memory wipe in hundreds of years. He's kind of like HK-47.
I was so excited this episode. It REALLY took a turn! And not one i expected. Every time Jod got angry I lit up. When Brutus got clawed, I was saying in my head "Shoot em! Shoot em!". I had no idea he was actually going to do it!
Well, once Brutus said he didn't care about whether Jod was right, but that he was going to kill him anyway, he was a goner. I think he setup Jod to attack a freighter with no treasure and tipped them off that they would kill them all so they'd fight to the death. But we're long past that opening scene now. Still, I want justice for the freighter captain.
I've been thuroughly enjoying Skeleton Crew. The writing has been good. The actors have been good. And Jod, it's been great watching the facade drop and see the person underneath the moment he got his hands on a room full of treasure. And this last episode when he saw, literally, more wealth than he could imagine! It will be interesting to see how things wrap up. Give this team more Star Wars!
This episode also helps explain a key purpose of the external armor -- that one of its purposes was camouflage of sorts so as to not be readily visually identifiable as an Old Republic mint freighter.
A side benefit perhaps, but risky if At Attin was using visual identification to recognize one of its own ships. I think mainly it didn't have deflector shields so needed extra armor. Maybe he analyzed what the satellites were supposed to do on At Achrann?
@sandal_thong8631 I'm seeing it as more of a primary purpose -- the last thing a pirate needs is the attention of law enforcement or other privates when he pulls into spacedock with a kriffing easily identifiable shiny Old Republic mint ship. The idea of a transponder rather than visual identification isn't new, even Jod assumed it was based on a transponder of sorts rather than the appearance. ✌️
@@harley1672I don't see the add'l armor fundamentally changing the landing gear. However nothing we saw rules out that the landing pad was flexible enough to adapt to different ships anyway. Or that different ships get auto-piloted to a pad that matches their landing needs. I did find it weird that this massive elevator pad was under a park basically, lol. I mean, what could go wrong? Lol
Used to like Theory but I am honestly done with him. He seems obsessively fixated with his personal interpretation of the original Hexalogy to a fault…
@@Kobalt_Rax_the_onei got tired of Theory's angry rhetoric and 'everything new sucks' rants after a while, especially when he leaned into that for more views.
Zero chance that Wim will risk Jod making true of his threat to kill their parents. It'll certainly come out during their meeting with At Attin's supervisor.
The kids are going to keep quiet for once, because they don't want their parents killed. Think _Ransom_ where the kid wets himself when he sees or hears the policeman who was a kidnapper. He then realizes the father is on to him and doesn't take the check and leave. This was my first take of what Jod will do if they load up his ship with credits and let him leave. "Nah, too easy. They're on to me and I'll never get away with it." After someone said "Offload" meant taking credits or raw materials _from_ the _Onyx Cinder,_ then I had to laugh: it makes sense why they'd go straight to the vault for security first. Jod's in for a surprise.
This episode was insane!!! As soon as the kids picked up the captain in that claw I knew Jod was gonna pounce I yelled at my girlfriend “they’re gonna kill the dog!!!” He’s a perfect pirate dude completely for himself 100% of the time
I have had a personal theory that Jod is actually Petro from the Clone Wars who was with Ahsoka and other younglings who took on Hondo, and then later helped Hondo against Grievous... I think maybe there's a chance that when Order 66 went down, he went to Hondo for help... and he's a pirate now because of it.
Cool theory, I like it. He was clearly a Padawan long enough to absorb a few "lines of wisdom" even if he ended up twisting them to fit what he needed. If you think about how that all played out for him, watching the destruction of everything he might have loved, living most of the rest of his childhood and adulthood hand-to-mouth, it would turn anyone.
@@GenerationTech Hey Allen.. think about it. He's the right age to be a youngling who wasn't yet old enough to be a Padawan. That explains his rudimentary force abilities and philosophy... He has a direct, canon connection to pirates. He was headstrong and impatient.... Lot's to like about that theory.
Every scene with Jude Law and how he subtly shades his character through seven episodes is another demonstration of how truly transcendent he is as an actor. He is fantastic.
Skeleton Crew went from something i was cautiously hopeful for and my wife was not overly interested in, to quickly becoming one of the best stories in Star Wars. Like Andor, it's a great story 1st. Also, so glad Jod did not turn into space Jack Sparrow.
Second best Star Wars show, after Andor. And I say that because I think if you strip out all the Star Wars elements completely (the lore, the tie ins, the “smashing my action figures together” nostalgia, all the Star Wars elements) then I think skeleton crew holds up as the best non-Andor show. Yep, even moreso than Mando.
Idk I feel like I don’t like starwars show people like and I like the one they don’t, I feel like skeleton crew had a rocky start and im at the point where I was waiting 2 weeks every time to watch. I didn’t enjoy Andor much. But I liked Acolyte (Not the ending) and I’m disappointed it was canceled. Keep on mind I was not born when the original trilogy was released same for the prequel trilogy. So idk 🤷
I loved the scene when Jod was yelling at the kids for being "spoiled rich brats" because that sounded personal and you can catch a glimpse of who he might be. Jod could either have been a poor kid who hates rich people, or he was a rich kid who lost everything. Either way has led him to a life of piracy.
@@70briareos if he used to be in the Jedi Order. During his time growing up there on Coruscant, he was probably also spoiled, sheltered and felt weak afterwards. Especially after realizing what he had lost.

Jod is a curious character - executing Brutus, arguably the most dangerous character in this series, but nudging aside 33's eyeball rat when a more brutal character would have definitely stomped on it. Also, Stephen Fry as the Supervisor of At Attin! I wonder if he is a droid also.
@@kdusel1991it's certainly possible. I've seen Fry in so many things over the years so I might go back and listen to the recording of Rennod again to check.
This is a good episode. The children and Jod seem to be going on separate journeys that converge. The children are near the end of their heroes' journey while Jod is reaching the climax of his villainous arc. Good to see the parents working together.
This show has been solid all the way through, let's hope they stick the landing. Jude Law is crushing it, and the kid actors are doing really well. Got plenty of char growth and got to have an Amblin adventure in the wider Star Wars Galaxy, I am loving it. Will be sad to see it end. Oh and Brutus deserved better. Still Jod taking him out when he was defenseless seemed on brand.
If Jod was a Jedi child who escaped the purge. Once upon a time, he would ALSO have been a weak, sheltered, and spoiled child. Living in innocence, protected by the Jedi Order.
I don’t really see the Younglings like that. They are removed from their families & essentially sacrificed to a life they didn’t choose. Which at the time he would have been a youngling was War. He definitely seemed to be triggered by the parent’s messages
@@KforFreedom if he was originally on Coruscant, and had to escape the Jedi temple on foot. Any experience hiding in the Coruscant underworld makes the time with the Jedi a pampered life in comparison.
@Peter_The_Great That is exactly how I am picturing his back story. Ends up on a pirate crew just to get food. Maybe learns to hide his abilities because his first crew tried to turn him in when he shows them.
I was thinking the galaxy was like kids taking apprenticeships when they were these kids' ages, like assessment to determine their career path. "Not a lot of room at the top," said Fara. I thought the pilot or navigator at the start of _The Phantom Menace_ was a child apprentice, later learning she was a small woman. The alternative for the elite would be further education, like boarding school in Britain. If so, then an extended childhood like they experience is a sign of weakness, sheltering and spoilage. I asked a couple weeks ago, what skills do they possess to help them on this adventure (other than K.B.'s cybernetics)? They could have learned conflict resolution as part of At Attin being a peaceful society for 1000 years, but didn't or didn't know how to negotiate peace between the tribes on At Achrann.
This reminds me of Hondo Ohnaka, he was so willing to let anyone die or sell anyone at any point if it served his purpose. He could be friendly if it helped him. But you always knew he was gonna “betray” them when it was necessary or even just easier.
well, if saber turns red, i'm 100% sure that ship will never fly again, when it landed there was close up on machanism that locks it, probably only administrator can unlock it
Are we not going to address the fact that these people clearly haven’t had any contact with the Republic in a very long time? For example, when the Onyx Cinder comes into land, people seem surprised to see a ship. People were just going about their business on top of the landing hatch pracitcally falling into the opening because they’ve never experienced a Republic Emissary in over 30 years - maybe longer. In other words, most of the adults are clueless as to what to expect. It is clear that At Attin was unaware of the Empire. It makes me wonder if the Republic Mint had monetary independence from the Senate. If the Emissaries were Jedi, then its possible when Order 66 was executed, knowledge of its location was lost to Palpatine. I hope we learn its mystery in the final episode because I have the sense that the show is a one and done venture for Disney. And personally, I am fine with that as long as the mystery is explained.
At Attin might be Palpatine's vault and the Supervisor might be a Moff with the Imperial Remnant. Stephen Fry voiced the supervisor, I can absolutely see him in an Imperial Officer uniform. Jod might be robbing a bunch of warlords with battle damaged old Star Destroyers. Would make an interesting fight for Jod's Frigate.
Good with one and done. If At Attin joins the New Republic, they could say in the end that this stabilized the economy and caused other systems to join the New Republic, leading to peace, prosperity and an end to piracy for 20 years, whatever happens later in some future trilogy.
I love how the robot was very clearly searching through its programming after Fern called undibs to see if he could side with the kids. He clearly likes the kids and was like, “Can I do that?” Probably had to search DEEP for some kind of logical inconsistency within his programming.
Nah. He was probably on his own from their age or younger. He might have even gone back to his parents who told them to get lost, and choose a new name so the Empire wouldn't come after them.
I love how I can't decide how this will end the only thing I am sure of is that all the other pirates will die or the vast majority of possibly that tek actually survived and is actually the supervisor hence the lack of action
He probably set up Jod to rob the freighter after it unloaded and told the crew they would be killed or enslaved, causing them to fight to the death. When he said he'd kill Silvo regardless, then he had to go. So there's really no one left for Jod to defend the kids from and thus no redemptive arc.
I think Jod really was going to just take the kids home and hoping for some generous reward, but not more than that. It’s when he found out that At Attin was a mint, infinite money essentially, is when he started to lose it.
To be fair what was the kids idea of being rewarded handsomely? I mean even if it was enough money to fill all your pockets that still more then moister outer rim planets would see in a generation.
I think he figured At Attin might have more of those Old Republic credits that thry could give him which would be like finding a buried pile of gold. Enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life, sure. But a mint where they actually MAKE them? That’s more than anyone would even dream possible. Even the massive horde of loot in Tao’s old base would be less than couch change in comparison.
Here’s to the journey and the friends we make alone the way! May the wind always be at our backs! [insert something about the Undiscovered Country and renewing my faith after the death of my…wait, that was STVI:TUC sorry.]
@@AScottishOdyssey Probably not. But it was a thought a couple episodes ago that they'd sacrifice themselves or their return to prevent pirates from going there. Now it's up to the Supervisor to stop Jod and the parents to prevent him killing their kids.
@@sandal_thong There might be a moment were the thought crosses the kids minds, but something happens that stops them from having to make that sacrifice.
One Mastake I see Jod making is he is that he is dismissing the threat of the Securaty Droids. Then most in the post Clone Wars tend to look down and disregard droids.
Jod is one step from the heist of millenium, but he is also in very precarious position. There is LOTS of security droids on At Attin, and taking hostages might do him no good depending on who is actually Overseer and does s/he care about bystanders compared to security of the mint. The ship is secured fast, he has no comms with his comrades on the frigate, and there is still the slight possiblity that Overseer is actually former captain of the Onyx Cinder... setting up a pirate captains duel to end all duels.
@@Andrew2k18 parents themselves are pretty helpless, they only managed out to send out the message via probe relay, and even that got them all caught by droids, I dont see them getting Onyx Cinder away, and I am pretty sure there are cannons exactly like that one At Achrinn school rooftop had. Even the frigate would be blown up if needed. Jod is only tenously safe as long as his masquerade as Republic envoy holds, which is not going to be long.
Then there's the issue of his pirates There's zero guarantee they'll still be up in orbit, either left due to "He abandoned us" or some other pirate grabbing the reigns of power once Jod is gone. Then the supervisor, whoever they are, likely knows it's been years before a ship has arrived, so even an AI will be highly suspicious and lock down the Cinder even harder, forcing Jod to have a messy confrontation at best with them Next, let's say everything goes his way (somehow) and he gets back to the pirates. Well, the Cinder can only hold so many pirates at a time, and they won't take too kindly to "Alright, these 20 go first", even by the time you get to round 2, there's gonna be severe animosity. "No honor among thieves" anyone? So Jod would need to get out covertly, at which point he either concocts a new name for himself and hides forever, or he is forever hunted by his former pirate crew Finally, he brings home a ton of newly minted Republic Credits. Wherever he goes to spend them is going to have questions. Uncomfortable questions. Questions that reveal At Attin. Questions that Jod won't want to answer, because if the galaxy learns there's an entire planet full of money, not only is his ship at risk, but all the money he just stole got devalued significantly. He has short-term happiness, but he's got a ton of big problems going forward.
I think the lightsaber was to remind the kids to shut up. He's going to take a knee in salute and charm the parents. He'll need them to deal with the droids and get off with some loot. If the Supervisor loads up his ship and lets him go, he might be too suspicious and takes them with him. Of course the Supervisor must know the Old Republic's gone and banishes the parents with the kids for violating protocol. There's also the possibility which someone clued me in to that "Offload" means offload _from_ the _Onyx Cinder,_ so they expect to get credits or raw materials from them, which is a good reason they went straight to the vaults! You don't want people messing with a treasure ship when it lands! I like the idea of a lightsaber duel, but the Supervisor would be foolish to expose himself/herself to physical harm when they have all those droids and could just gas everyone on that vault level. Maybe the parents help him get away with some loot, then Luke Skywalker shows up at the end like in _The Mandalorian_ and duels him! PS: A frigate full of credits could disrupt a planet's economy if spent all there, but the galaxy is too big for that. I like the idea of 1:100 like gold in 19th century gold dollar coins being worth $100. But even 1:1000 is OK with me too.
9:42 this was also a call back to the conversation between Neel and the French warrior girl. He admitted he was weak, but made the calculation that it is OK to be weak, if the trade off is a happy and safe life.
I still think Jod is an untrained Force user. He knows what he's got from the old Jedi legends, but has learned a few "party tricks" throughout the course of his life. The key floating to his hand, it looked like he was struggling to do that, a trained Jedi (or even a Padawn), it would've easily flown to their hand. IMHO, in the series finale we might learn that one of the kids may have latent Jedi powers. Probably Wim, he dreamt of faraway adventures (just like Luke), he found the lightsaber, he ignited it, and he's been the bane of Jod's anger. My last prediction, the unseen "Supervisor" is going to be revealed to be Captain Tak Rennod himself! Just my 'Two Cents' from the cheap seats.
He didn't kill the mouse thing cuz the mouse thing can't die (yet). Absurd as it sounds, I think the mouse is actually Tak Rennod who uses SM-33 as a vehicle to make up for his tiny stature. This is how SM-33 was able break his code to support "unclaimsies", and why we weren't able to make him out in the video. The only reason to have the video distorted is because we will recognize him, and with one episode left we have seen all the characters So he could be a very intelligent and long lived alien rodent species who got bored of having infinite wealth and decided to join in on a kids' adventure.
"It's about the journey and the friends we made along the way." Should be the guiding montra for future Disney Star Wars projects. It will guarantee a future nostalgic fan base for the franchise. Great quote.
I've got to say that a big issue with the boomer and gen x generations who made and grew up with those amblan entertainment type shows, seemed to often and very quickly have the comfort and luxury of a middle class american suburb and take it for granted, its frankly causing a lot of problems now as the bubble is bursting and that lifestyle is proving to be unsustainable, yet those people act as though people have always lived that way. It's nice to see a message of "learn to appreciate what you have as it could be so so much worse"
Don't know if everyone in the city has a good job and a "country home" or whatever they call the suburbs. People who fail the assessment probably live downtown and have less important jobs. Not bus driver though.
You know, I never really like these people who take upon themselves the cause of others, but I'mma make an exception about this one. I'm with you on this one. Justice for Glurb!
K.B. said she bypassed some of his chips or something. I can see how some people call it _Ratatouille_ but the rat couldn't even turn on SM-33, let alone give command overrides. Though it makes me think of a mouse living in the "mouse droid" on the Death Star from _Robot Chicken._
Wim’s Dad… the way he talks about At Attin makes me think he isn’t from At Attin like the other parents… or perhaps his wife was not from At Attin… he seems to give of the vibe that he knows more about the current state of the galaxy than the other parents, and I am thinking that might factor into the big twist.
This is why I want to get Jod's backstory so bad. Was he part of the order during the purge? How did he make it out? How did he fall into the life of a pirate? His little speech to the kids seems like honest resentment from someone who has struggled to survive facing children who have not. What has he gone through to twist him into this?
Just give me a line or two: "I'm not a Jedi; I only had two weeks of training at the Jedi Temple." "I had two weeks of training, too," replies Luke. "And I am a Jedi." Lightsabers ignite.
@sandal_thong We have only seen a handful of Jedi survive order 66. Yoda survived because of his connection to the force, Obi-Wan honestly got lucky, Ahsoka had help from Rex, and some good training to fall back on, Cal and Kanan both made it because of their masters sacrificing themselves, similar thing with Grogu. So I just want to know who Jod had to watch die to escape alive.
@sandal_thong From the sound of it, he was on his way to being like Ezra, but didn't have his master or a wider support group to help him after her loss, and just had to make his way in the galaxy only now with a few Jedi tricks. I'm glad for the explanation. Gives a lot more depth to him. How he can both empathize with the kid for their current situation, but also resent them for how much better a life they had growing up.
🤔 . . . I can already imagine what Jod is going to do. After he gets a decent share of the stored cash & such, he’ll then go to the planet’s head honcho & demand to open communications to the rest of the galaxy, primarily the New Republic. Next he’ll head somewhere else, contacting the pirate crew so that they’ll move in for their share of the loot. However, the timing will be so perfect that he’ll make his escape; he’ll leave with his spoils, unhindered, unhinged, & makes his escape during the chaos. At least, that’ll be what he’ll try to do at least. Ultimately, it’ll have that _Treasure Island_ / _Treasure Planet_ like ending, but I can’t predict how it specifically ends & such…
I find it very amusing that this planet of unfathomable treasures has a bunch of security measures (the barrier, restricting communication, etc) and the stopping point for it all allows any Joe Shmoe to be like "Uh yeah. I'm the Emissary."
I thought that too. But then someone said they mentioned "Offload" twice, which they think means offloading credits or raw materials _from_ the _Onyx Cinder_ not loading credits onto it to take to the Old Republic. Before that I figured sooner or later they'd ask for confirmation of his identity like security codes. I think that's what he needs the parents to help him with. Even if they load up his ship, I think he'd be suspicious that they'd just let him take off, like the kidnapper in _Ransom (1996)_ not taking the check, because he thinks the father is on to him.
If Jod didn't execute Brutus right there I would've called him pathetic 😅. He literally was gifted wrapped. So happy the writers understood that 😂. Jod definitely to me is solidified as a former Padawan to me. Essentially Someone like Ahsoka (around the time she left)with less battle prowess it seems. He obviously knows how to utilize the force but doesn't really seem to be a great force user if you understand me😅. Unless he's hiding from the Jedi then idk why he would have to hide it
My theory is that the beacon the parents sent up got heard by The New Republic and/or the New Jedi Order and we’re going to have someone show up and help when things go super south. I do like the idea of Tak being the admin though! I actually wondered if SM-33 was actually Tak for awhile, but those dreams were shattered- er “lightsabered” unfortunately ☹️
Jod has a well armed Frigate that needs something to battle in the finale. Either a New Republic cruiser will show up or At Attin is a Palpatine's vault and the Imperial Remnant shows up. If they want Jod to be a bad guy he fights the New Republic. If they want Jod to be an anti-hero he fights the Imperial Remnant.
@@jiffypoo5029 In order for Jod to help the kids there has to be someone even worse. But having new characters show up at the end is pretty weak writing.
@@sandal_thong Supervisor will be a finale reveal regardless. They are connecting everything to the sequels. Mando deals with the remnant and cloning. Ahsoka was Thrawn's return. At Attin is how they fund the First Order.
Could be if the droids won't do it. Someone said "Offload" meant to take credits or precious metals OFF the _Onyx Cinder!_ That's why they went straight to the vaults for security, so no one could intercept it. I think Jod needs the parents to help talk to the Supervisor and the droids, so he can escape with loot, without them turning the defense system against him. The lightsaber was to remind the kids not to answer "What happened?" which he will turn into a salute to the parents. Probably will need the parents and kids to leave with him, too.
You’re looking great Allan. Glad to always hit up your channel when episodes and shows like this pop up. My prediction is: the supervisor has to be Rennard. Better an ex pirate runs a mint than droids right? Why was his ship there hidden? In the woods? So he’s the supervisor. He knows who Jod is. If he had a lightsaber in his lair. I’m sure he has one now. So we probably get supervisor ex pirate. Vs. Jod NaNaNaNa Wood. We probably get a cool saber battle and a lesson that pirating can’t be forever. So Jod will probably leave with a reward and a new outlook on life. Knowing how Disney writers are…
Star Wars distinctiveness is about lightsabers, which other series don't have. So maybe there could be a lightsaber battle at the end between Supervisor and Jod? But I think it more likely for Luke Skywalker to show up, Jod doubts he's a Jedi, though both admit they only had 2 weeks of training and have a quick duel until he's disarmed (that is drops his lightsaber not have his literal arms removed).
Depending on how old the barrier is, it might be altered stormwall technology. But if it's older than 250 years or so, it must just be their own thing.
When the droid mentioned there being 1139 vaults on the planet, it made me wonder if it was a shoutout to the old lego star wars mini series about 1137 and 1139.
You know what the problem is when you see the real world is scary? Some people take it as a challenge to better themselves. Some take it as a cue to go back to their safe homes and stay there forever. And some people decide they need to tame the world no matter how cruel they have to be to do it.
I'd like them (i.e. Neel) to say they have to go help At Achrann. They can't just forget children are fighting a clan/tribe war there. Parents might reply they can't help the whole galaxy. The reply being, how about one planet?
I am very curious where they are leading up with his character, he’s So interesting yet so intimidating when he’s either being manipulative or loosing his patience and being blinded by greed. He seems like a very complicated guy with a lot of history. him threatening the kids really makes me wonder if he still has a smidge of a soft side in him or not. I mean, the show is gonna continue, so it really makes me wonder how they will end the first season
I'd like to see the story of how the Republic "lost" At-Attin. You'd figure that during the Clone Wars where money was key, that Darth Syphilis would have been aware of a Republic Mint.
They said they needed a Jedi pathfinder, so maybe the Jedi were the only ones keeping tabs on the mint planet and Remwber they were so bad with money they funded an entire army with out knowing or noticing it.
I was so scared he was going to stomp on that little eyeball mouse. That would be irredeemable.

I think the reason the writers gave At Attin a droid security force is so Jod can carve them up like Thanksgiving turkeys but still keep it PG
Or so that no one can mindtrick them
Alternatively since he is not a full bore Jedi there may be a plot twist where the droids just stun him into submission once he tries.
I mean it could be interpreted as Fern challenging Silvo for the role of Captain and Silvo declines the challenge
@@romanmorozov6974 Maybe 33 was originally Rennod's first mate
@romanmorozov6974 I still say 33 is the original captain. Goonies is the clue to the whole thing. He is one eye willie.

Not gonna lie, I love the scene of Jod cackling maniacally at the credits flowing
It was pretty great!
Maybe he wasn't really yelling at them, but probably remembering a dark part when he was taken by Pirates as a youngling, I can kinda see his face close to tears too
I wonder if Jod is actually Petro from the clone wars youngling arc
@@brianmoyachiuz905I need to rewatch that. Great observation
Love that SM 33 remained loyal to captain fern till the end.
He'll be fine. It's not that hard to fix a droid.
Talk to the rat. Who said _Ratatouille_ weeks ago?
Interesting to see the Pirate Code has a “dibs!” policy. Jod forgot to invoke the “no take backs!” accord.
I’m guessing it’s to keep blood shed down when multiple crews are after then same loot as they may need to work together at some point in the future.
Jod had no claim since he captains the Frigate. Fern took back her ship, she was the captain before Jod.
It checks out.
@@jiffypoo5029 but he also wasn't operational for those hundreds of years
I was so excited this episode.
Well the landing gear is specifically designed for the landing pad the old designs landing gear wouldn’t work
@@harley1672I don't see the add'l armor fundamentally changing the landing gear. However nothing we saw rules out that the landing pad was flexible enough to adapt to different ships anyway. Or that different ships get auto-piloted to a pad that matches their landing needs. I did find it weird that this massive elevator pad was under a park basically, lol. I mean, what could go wrong? Jod is gonna try and convince them he's a Jedi and Wim is gonna tell his dad he's lying.
I love that we don't know if Jod is a Jedi! Imho they should just keep his identity a mystery.
They're on to me and I'll never get away with it."
After someone said "Offload" meant taking credits or raw materials _from_ the _Onyx Cinder,_ then I had to laugh: it makes sense why they'd go straight to the vault for security first. Jod's in for a surprise.

Good theory; he was a bit egotistical, too.
I am thinking this too
hmmm, let's take a look at this
@@GenerationTech Hey Allen.. think about it.
He really has been amazing!
The visual of the underground vault is so beautiful and magnificent.😵😵💫
I would love to see ep8 begin by the security droids seeing Jod igniting the saber as a security threat and stunning him.
As soon as I saw the stun guns in action I asked myself when they would next be used. I'm sure they'll be relevant later.
It would be an irony if the old republic protocols put so much faith in the Jedi the droids won’t ever question Jod.

Loving the show, cannot wait for the final episode! Great video btw 👍👍

The vault part is my favourite part of the episode seeing all that shiny gold in one big room.
The scene where Jod takes over the pirate crew was savage af
Jod has gold fever.......his blade might be turning red.....he will escape I think, The Mandolorian needs a bounty......
The way the gold was pouring made me think of the Hobbit where Thorin was going through the dragon sickness
@isaackim7675 the gold pouring was weird. One bump and that whole place will be a disaster.
Din wouldn't give an eopie 💩 about Jod's charm.
well, if saber turns red, i'm 100% sure that ship will never fly again, when it landed there was close up on machanism that locks it, probably only administrator can unlock it
This isn't the 9th Jedi, and I doubt he'd bothers breeding the crystal.
The rat did an override, like _Ratatouille._
When he called them sheltered and weak, that felt like he was talking about himself as well
Nah. He was probably on his own from their age or younger. He might have even gone back to his parents who told them to get lost, and choose a new name so the Empire wouldn't come after them.
What an amazing episode... if there was any doubt before, Jod has cemented himself as a bad man willing to do terrible things.
An excellent and rounded analysis

That's awesome!
He went to the Big Glow-Weed Plantation in the sky...
I love how I can't decide how this will end the only thing I am sure of is that all the other pirates will die or the vast majority of possibly that tek actually survived and is actually the supervisor hence the lack of action
Beautiful text, very well sayed. Sensé the emotions there. Thank you!
Justice for my boy Brutus :(
RIP, King. Gone but never forgotten.
He probably set up Jod to rob the freighter after it unloaded and told the crew they would be killed or enslaved, causing them to fight to the death. When he said he'd kill Silvo regardless, then he had to go. So there's really no one left for Jod to defend the kids from and thus no redemptive arc.
Brutus promised to kill Jod, whatever the outcome. So, Jod struck first.
This episode was awesome!!
Agreed. You could buy oceans and planets with just a share of the loot you took home.

Jod is a Long John Silver type of character.
Star wars hasn't made me feel this way in a while
I really hope that there is going to be a second season. I've been really enjoying Skelton Crew.
Maybe other kids that are trained or in training to deal with the wider galaxy. For all we know Jod and the four kids all die in the next episode.
@@sandal_thong Will they?
@@AScottishOdyssey Probably not. But it was a thought a couple episodes ago that they'd sacrifice themselves or their return to prevent pirates from going there.
Now it's up to the Supervisor to stop Jod and the parents to prevent him killing their kids.
@@sandal_thong There might be a moment were the thought crosses the kids minds, but something happens that stops them from having to make that sacrifice.
One Mastake I see Jod making is he is that he is dismissing the threat of the Securaty Droids. Then most in the post Clone Wars tend to look down and disregard droids.
I still think that that supervisor of At-Attin will turn out to be good old Captain Tak Rennod.
I think Jod will threaten the kids and make the parents help him leave the planet with the loot.
Then there's the issue of his pirates
There's zero guarantee they'll still be up in orbit, either left due to "He abandoned us" or some other pirate grabbing the reigns of power once Jod is gone.
Then the supervisor, whoever they are, likely knows it's been years before a ship has arrived, so even an AI will be highly suspicious and lock down the Cinder even harder, forcing Jod to have a messy confrontation at best with them
Next, let's say everything goes his way (somehow) and he gets back to the pirates. Well, the Cinder can only hold so many pirates at a time, and they won't take too kindly to "Alright, these 20 go first", even by the time you get to round 2, there's gonna be severe animosity. "No honor among thieves" anyone? So Jod would need to get out covertly, at which point he either concocts a new name for himself and hides forever, or he is forever hunted by his former pirate crew
Finally, he brings home a ton of newly minted Republic Credits.
But even 1:1000 is OK with me too.
lol watch, Tak Reno’s IS THE MOUSE!!!
The only reason to have the video distorted is because we will recognize him, and with one episode left we have seen all the characters
So he could be a very intelligent and long lived alien rodent species who got bored of having infinite wealth and decided to join in on a kids' adventure.
He is so going to get locked in the vault or will be crushed by all that loot.
"It's about the journey and the friends we made along the way." Should be the guiding montra for future Disney Star Wars projects. It will guarantee a future nostalgic fan base for the franchise. Great quote.
From where?
The grass is always greener
Watch for the eye mouse to get the last laugh against Jod. It's not over, pretend Jedi!
Still don't see how the rat could survive in a sealed spaceship unless it was long-lived and sentient. But spare us from dumb endings.
Gonna be funny when Tak Rennod in a Supervisors smock drifts down on a lift and wrecks his day.
You know, I never really like these people who take upon themselves the cause of others, but I'mma make an exception about this one. I'm with you on this one.
Justice for Glurb!

Reminds me of the classic ‘Treasure Island’ more than ‘The Goonies’… :)
SM-33 is actually the mousething living in the robot's head.
That'd be one kriff of a twist.
K.B. said she bypassed some of his chips or something.
I do agree, he seems like he has more suspicions regarding than the others. Also, why has Kneel’s dad not been shown
@ Kneel has infant siblings?
@@KforFreedomNeel's dad was in the hologram in the newest episode
I can't help but think Wim's mom is the administrator .
No. He asks to contact the Republic (not the New Republic) and seems like the others not to know the galaxy changed for the worse.
This is why I want to get Jod's backstory so bad. Was he part of the order during the purge? How did he make it out? How did he fall into the life of a pirate? His little speech to the kids seems like honest resentment from someone who has struggled to survive facing children who have not. What has he gone through to twist him into this?
Just give me a line or two: "I'm not a Jedi; I only had two weeks of training at the Jedi Temple."
"I had two weeks of training, too," replies Luke. "And I am a Jedi."
Lightsabers ignite.
@ Yeah, now that it's out, he did see someone die. Why the killers didn't take him into custody they didn't say.
How well they do with Jod in the finally is going to have a big impact on what peaople think of this show at the end.
True. I hated _Agatha all Along_ after it was revealed she was a psychopath who likely murdered a hundred or more witches.
At 12:53 here the kids all see At Attin again, including the mouse that lives in the empty eye of SM33
He's gonna blow it acting violent in a bank.
Discworld reference 🥰👌
GNU Sir Terry ❤
My guess is the next episode starts with Jod getting stunned.
I suspect Jod is a former Jedi padawan who survived order 66, and it broke him.
@@jiffypoo5029 "[We'd have peace and prosperity in the galaxy now] if it weren't for you darned kids!"
Hes making those parents load his ship with gold...100%
Yea the question will be would the ship even be able to take off at that point.
@@sandal_thong I like this theory way better! May the force be with you my fellow star wars fan! We need better Star Wars!
To me this is the best Star Wars since the Disney acquisition.
Depending on how old the barrier is, it might be altered stormwall technology. But if it's older than 250 years or so, it must just be their own thing.
Great take.
When the droid mentioned there being 1139 vaults on the planet, it made me wonder if it was a shoutout to the old lego star wars mini series about 1137 and 1139.
The signal that went up. Will that notify the "good guys"? Is the supervisor on auto pilot?
It was filmed 3 years ago they say. If they believed in it for a continuation they'd have released it sooner. But they didn't so they won't.
Interesting theory, but I think that he will get locked in the vault with all the credits thus giving him what he wants but not.
