  • Riding aids like quickshifters and auto-blippers have trickled down from MotoGP to everyday road-going motorcycles. Concepts like clutchless gear shifts and rev-matching have existed for a long time but can take quite a while to master. However, the advent of bi-directional quickshifters has made it a whole lot easier for everyone. In this Simplified episode, Shumi explains how these systems work and if you really need them

Does having an auto blipper reduce the effects of engine braking? Additionally, would a slipper clutch be better for road going bikes in this instance(quickshifter + slipper clutch)?

    • @shu_mar

@@TheGiantSquid not necessarily in both instances. Slipper clutches will reduce clutch lever effort - primary advantage in normal riding. Engine braking can be smoothened/lowered by autoblippers. But most bikes that get these also get engine brake control that intervenes to reduce engine braking anyway

Awesome contents covered in the simplified, would it possible to have one made on types of petrol that is normal vs premium vs octane boosters. And which to be used in what categories of motorcycle.

Daaaaaamn. You're really good at this. So riddle me this, mine behaves like this, and I've read other's do too: If it needs that loss in power to decouple, why does it work best when you're mobbin on it? Why's it need that hot and cold to it? Seems backwards, you get what I mean by that? Should be easier when you're taking it easy, not the more you beat it's ass, the better it works. On mine anyway, it doesn't really appreciate being used - in either direction - at minimal / cruising throttle position. Very clunky. But banging thru the gears up the on ramp or coming in hot, it works like a charm.
Also, any reason why, say 3rd to 4th is smoother than 2nd to 3rd for example? Is it related to the first question? Seems like the higher up the gearbox I go, the smoother they are.
Good videos, sir. I've been browsing. You earned this sub like a son of a gun.
