    I'm afraid your volume balance may be a little off on this one; the music seems to overpower the voiceover. (Could just be my speakers).

      @@whatwouldyousaytcc No worries! You guys are great and we all know "content is king" (content is far more important than quality). I'm probably overly sensitive to the sound levels. Please take this a helpful criticism. I most wish I could help with The Break Point Podcast. I listen every day but sometimes the levels between speakers is so wide that it is almost impossible to listen without adjusting for each person speaking.

    "religious freedom" and then goes on to argue for one specific religion. This doesn't address the issues here.

    • @OldGreyGryphon
      @OldGreyGryphon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Try, addresses the issue from one religion’s perspective. Which, this being a Christian channel, shouldn’t be a surprise. I thought they addressed the issue for all quite well, personally.

    • @jordanjtbraun
      @jordanjtbraun 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OldGreyGryphon there are problems, though, when utilizing a Christian based justification for freedom of religion. First, it doesn't do much to convince a Muslim that there should be freedom of religion, or any other faith. If my tolerance for other religions is based in a distinctly Christian world view, then it can easily be ignored by people of other faiths or belief systems.
      Also, so many times I hear people lament about the "attack on religion" when they are not allowed to have Christian religious symbols in their civil offices, then these same people complain when a school allows the Muslim Student group to hold prayer sessions in their schools cafeteria.
      I strongly believe in the Freedom of Religion and contrast that with Freedom from Religion, but do not think that it is a very strong position to argue freedom of religion from a Christian perspective, particularly when in action people only mean freedom of denomination and not religion.

    • @OldGreyGryphon
      @OldGreyGryphon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jordanjtbraun Your first point is accurate but it is worth saying, this whole channel is aimed primarily at Christians and how we can answer questions posed by nonbelievers.
      Your second point is also (sadly) accurate but how often do we hear about Christians in America getting told to take our religion back home until Sunday but any other religious expression is encouraged? If we’re going to have freedom of religion it needs to be evenly distributed and right now it’s not.
      I plan on using the arguments in the video to show why we should all support peoples freedom of religion particularly us Christians. I think that’s the primary purpose of the video, if you want see one that argues this from another perspective, go make it, I’d watch it.

      At first glance I thought I was going to disagree with your comment, but then I read your follow up comment.
      We can strive to be the most peaceful, accommodating, and tolerant society, but such attempts at unity will fail if the other major world groups are actively working to destroy us.

    • @redgrange3485
      @redgrange3485 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correction if it were not for this one religion there would be no freedom of ALL religions but not all religions are equally valid there is a difference between man made religions and a God made religion which is only Christianity. If you wonder what's the difference look up the word "grace" only Christianity has this gift

      "If you have the privilege to be LGBTQ" what does that even mean? If someone falls under that umbrella, they can't just stop being LGBTQ. Are you suggesting they shouldn't have the privilege to exist? Being LGBTQ is not a choice. I don't care what your parents or your church gaslit you into believing, they are wrong, and so are you if you believed them. God bless you! May you find peace and happiness!

    This is really good. I would have just liked to hear it said that Christians should welcome freedom of religion bc it allows ppl to compare. Christianity fairly compared will win bc it’s the truth and has amazing grace. A well-known preacher recently said that he doesn’t endorse freedom of religion bc it encourages the worship of false religion. What is the alternative to freedom of religion? Does he support tyranny?

    • @Tux.Penguin
      @Tux.Penguin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a certain major world religion that “doesn’t endorse freedom of religion” and takes it to an extreme: beheading dissenters.
      It is much better to learn the art of persuasion and thereby win allies than to violently silence opposition.

      @@prettygay “you’re not ok with the way I live my life” I don’t care what you call yourself. Your problem is making other people believe it by stating your beliefs as matter of fact and even branding people who don’t follow your beliefs. You don’t have to prove trans to believe it…. YOU HAVE TO PROVE IT TO TELL OTHERS THEY ARE WRONG. Btw I’m homosexual and I’m not Christian. Oh and the word queer means strange or different. Nice of you to insult all those people who agree with and support you. What trans people are essentially doing is taking a word that already had a meaning, changing it (this is fine, that’s how language evolves) then deciding that anyone who doesn’t respect the change is against them. But that’s a fallacy. Pushing your beliefs onto otherss is wrong. Do you know what the definition of the word bigot is?
