The wild horses are beautiful to see, so glad there is more management of them in Wind River! Down in Rock Springs you can self-tour through the Pilot Butte area and see wild horses there too - you take a gravel road, so it's slow going, but worth the time!
@@WereintheRockies they're beautiful - and the backdrop of Pilot Butte around sunset - spectacular pictures if the horses cooperate and run around the area at that time!
I like the wild Mustangs. I will be heading out to Wyoming next year. I will check the Wind River Wild Horse Range out. I've been at the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in Hot Springs S.D. There you can be close to them also.
I hate to burst your bubble......but... there is NO SUCH THING AS A WILD HORSE on the North American continent... They are FERRELL horses brought here by the Spaniards. The natives learned how to catch and train them. Now they are a problem with way to many. FERRELL is the key......not wild!
I believe you are confusing the word feral with the native. These horses are not native to North America and are feral. Feral animals being domesticated species that have gone ….WILD.

Oh, I didn’t know about the rock springs herd. Thank you!

Do you remember how long the tours last on average? Sounds like a fun adventure 😊
That's a great question but I can't remember. You could probably find the information online or call and ask. Sorry I'm not more help.
