I met a lady visiting from Florida who stopped by me after I was riding my bike on the McCullough Peaks a couple weeks ago. She said she searched for three days and couldn't find the wild horses. She said this was on her bucket list. She was sad. I had mentioned your channel to her and she may have known about it but not sure if she's on her at all. Anyways, I was driving the Greybull highway today and saw the herd gathered by the road and I was so excited to get pictures. The baby ponies are adorable! Wish I got more info about the lady so I could share my pictures with her. ☹️.

It is too bad that she couldn't find the horses, I believe that there are tours out of Cody that take people out there with more success than winging it. I found if you don't know the area sometimes it is really hard to find them unless they are right by the road. Glad you got the chance to see them, they are amazing.

Beautiful video with beautiful creatures. I wish all horses were free.

Thank you. I agree, in a perfect world they would all be free.

@@loristravels thank you for the answer and for the video one more time! I'd say we should stop breeding horses for the entertainment purposes. As simple as it is. And enjoy them the way they definitely enjoy themselves the most - wild and free.

This is beautiful! Is it drivable with low ground clearance and no 4 wheel drive? I have a wheelchair modified minivan.

The area and the horses are amazing. So far I have only been there once but the main entrance is pretty well maintained and I did see regular cars on it. The road is narrow with very few car friendly turnouts. But it is doable. Another option may be to contact some of the wild horse tour companies in the Cody Wyoming area. They know the area and where the horse hangout. I hope you get the chance to go and see them.

@@loristravels thank you so much for the info! I will be out west in June and would love to take a short detour to see these beauties. I did a tour in NW CO, right before the roundup a couple years ago, and loved it.

Can anyone just drive through here or is it restricted?

It is open to the public, there are many gravel and dirt tracks off the main gravel road but a 4x4 is needed for those.
