      Ever thought about it not having anything to do with you? You get an experience hunting the largest and most dominant land animal om the planet. You're feeding the locals. Your contributing to anti poaching projects. You're contributing capital to the locals, which in return, result in the better well being of the local wildlife, and preservation thereof. Maybe you don't have to be the one to "get anything out of it." You're a hunter and don't understand the first thing about conservation.

    • @FarmerFpv
      @FarmerFpv 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JDobrozsi1 False. Comments are turned off by TH-cam when videos are restricted. They blur out their faces because activists are complete nutjobs who will do anything to dox a person and their family or even murder a human being over an animal. The animals culled on video are legally put down. and harvested for villages to eat. When animals become a nuisance or are a danger to the herd killing off the baby elephants they must be removed to preserve the herd. These animals are on a preserve. Please get the facts before you type some BS lie. Also, the hunter pays 100s of thousands of dollars sometimes over a million dollars to take the shot on the animal. That money goes back into the preservation of the animals, Why not have someone pay to shoot the animal and make money for saving the rest of the endangered species? One more thing. The money pays for security for the animals so that they can stop poaching and give jobs to the locals who are starving to death.
      One thing that amazes me is how ignorant you are. Because of the stupid phone you use to type your ridiculous accusations. Kills 1000s of animals every year mining for lithium to produce the batteries they run on. So unless you live in a cave without modern amenities, you're a hypocrite. But they don't count because they are out of sight and out of mind right? So, please, continue crying. We don't care.

Before they would be killed at random by locals but now there are so many thst they have b3come a huge problem for farmers and villages who can't do anything about it. They only hunt large bulls who have already bred many times over. Besides, hunting is natural and beautiful. @screwstatists7324 You do realise the elephant population dropped from around 25 million to 400,000 due to humans? In some countries there are only a few hundred left, even though you could find thousands in 1900. So saying "there are so many, they have become a problem for farmers" is just absurd. And these conservation strategies that you're talking about don't work half the time, you can find plenty of articles on that topic. Corruption and negligence makes these attempts futile. So executing elephants like that is nothing more than a sadistic past-time for rich men.

    I just don't know how I feel about this. I'm trying to approach the issue objectively. I think my biggest problem with it is the actual hunting process. You just walk up on the animal and shoot it. As someone who has hunted his whole life, that just doesn't feel like hunting to me. Yeah, it was a great shot, and I'm sure the pressure was on. Still, I don't know. I know that elephants are dangerous., but I can't help but think that maybe we should just leave them alone. I don't know, I'm kind of torn on this one. Human beings are part of nature and the weapons we created with our superior intelligence are a product of that same nature. A man shooting an elephant is no different from a lion killing a buck. Nature is a treadmill of death. If you love nature you must accept that truth.

    • @tommybuford6113
      @tommybuford6113 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They do that as to close the distance with the animal while it’s down. Although a Nitro express is a very large caliber, it never really hurts to have a follow up insurance shot/double tap when hunting one of the big five. Especially because those animals in particular are incredibly dangerous and very very hardy and tough. It’s best to hit the animal while it’s down so it doesn’t suffer but it also keeps you from tracking a wounded and dangerous animal through the bush and also stops it from charging should it recover. Lastly, although the bull was very big, the kill shot is still a relatively small target. Again, just insurance.

    Let it be known that trophy hunting is pretty much the only reason that many of these animals aren't nearly extinct. The huge amount of money that trophy hunting brings in helps to fund the parks, the rangers, and in general all of the conservation of these creatures. And has been mentioned in other comments, the population control is essential to the health of the creatures. In some places where hunting isnt allowed, and where paching isnt a problem, the elephant population has become too dense, causing food shortages for the elephants as well as widespread disease. Hunting is essential to protect these creatures.

      Their population was 25 million a few centuries ago, now it's 400,000. Some countries have a few hundred individuals left. The only reason why they're considered "over populated" is because their habitat is now tiny compared to what it used to be, so they interfere with people more. So this is basically the execution of an endangered species.

    Overpopulation can cause these bulls to grow dangerous rather rapidly. Contraception and relocation can only work so far until the elephants' population growth begin to outpace the more benign methods of population control. So as a measure of prevention, you make a list of the more violent younger bulls and the oldest bulls, you then calculate the amount of the population needed to be culled which includes these bulls. Cows that show violent or diseased tendencies are also put on the list, these animals are then marked and tracked to for hunting, the ivory is then handed over to the state as ivory for trophies are illegal here in Southern Africa. The meat is then distributed to the local area, as the whole animal is consumed and not wasted. The money paid to shoot the elephants are put right back into the reserve for elephant and rhino conservation, training of new rangers and anti poaching initiatives. The funds of a single elephant can fund a whole regiment of rangers for a year. This is heard management and nature conservation at its most extreme limit, the green-light for culling is only given as a last resort and the funds received is used for conservation especially against poaching which slaughter indiscriminately with complete disregard for the environment.
    What this video shows is only the dispatching of an elephant and not the preparation preceding the hunt and the positive effects directly after.

      While your argument suggests culling elephants as a last resort for population control and conservation funding, this approach overlooks viable non-lethal methods. Culling disrupts social structures, potentially harming herds, and neglects promising alternatives like immunocontraception or habitat management. Relying on hunting revenues for conservation poses ethical risks and may perpetuate a cycle prioritizing revenue over holistic conservation strategies. Any approach should prioritize non-lethal methods and ethical considerations to preserve elephant populations and their ecosystems

    • @thesayxx
      @thesayxx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      your arguments can be debunked peaty easily. Conservation groups get a lot more money from hunters than they do from eco tourism. Which allows them to better protect animals from poachers, and control which animals get culled. Interesting how Botswana doesn't have a problem with dwindling elephant population, while lets take Kenya for example which banned hunting in 1970's still has 1/3 of the elephant population and a massive poaching problem @@user-po7br1bl3y
