This was BEFORE new light so newbie free to plays most likely like you didn't start at 750 but 100, capped to 300 in vanilla, then 350 in CoS, then 400 in Warmind aka the video you just watched, then 600 during Forsaken, then 650, 700 and 750 in the season pass and 960+ in Shadowkeep and it also took place when the game wasn't on steam but was in battle.net

Okay, here's a little simple math for y'all! You need to open 15 Sleeper Nodes. One Override Frequency = 4 Resonate Stems. 15 x 4 = 60 You need to get 60 Resonate Stems at once to open all 15 Nodes at one time. You're welcome.

i figured it out guys and im just gonna comment it here maybe someone needs it in the future, so you pick up the quest "nascent dawn 1/5" and do 3 patrols like the quest step wants and in those patrols youre gonna get the resonant stems but after youre done you wont, when youre done with the 3 you can go farm them at the lost sector mentioned in the vid and youll receive the resonant stem from the chest once you defeat the boss. (it is the second part of the quest but you should continue to receive the resonant stem after youre done with that too)

Honestly, Sleeper is way less interesting in D2. What was cool about it in D1 was it was there was only one other linear fusion rifle in the whole game and that was also an exotic, and the other cool thing about Sleeper was that it was a heavy weapon, the only fusion in all of destiny to be a heavy. Everything that was cool about the gun is now generic. :/
Thirst quencher doesn't make sense, no one said big damage fixes all the games problems, but it can fix certain problems. The Sleeper simulant was my favorite D1 exotic because it did insane damage, and across every raid always had competitive top tier damage, as well as the look and feel of it. Sure, there are heavy linear fusion rifles in destiny that are good, but none of them have the same feel as the sleeper simulant. Haven't seen how good the damage is, but if it is good enough damage then I'm happy. On that note, anyone know if it is competitive in the raids?
Datto, to answer your plea in the description, people watch this stuff to learn how to do it more efficiently. For example, I didn't even THINK of using the majors at the start of Leviathan to grind that step out. That's why I do it for the very least. That and we gotta support you
A tip for making the node hunt a bit easier: there is a yellow glowing effect on screen when you get close to a node and it becomes less transparent the closer your aim is to the node. This helps a lot in figuring out the elevation.
Sean Fisher No, but ,like he said, you can repeat nodes so it's not like you can get too many nodes before the quest step and not be able to get it done (which I think was possible for a couple of weapon quests in Destiny 1). I mean fortunately it doesn't get any harder to get them done, you just have to do the same easy tasks like 60 times to get enough. It would be nice if it was retroactive and any you already got counted so you don't have to do as much work, but apart from time consuming grinding, it's not that bad. I just thing the Escalation Protocols are the worst step because I've only ever gotten a wave done once because randoms are unhelpful.

For the 5 Heroic Strikes, it appears that you MUST have the weapon equipped upon the strike's ending for it to count, it won't work by simply having the weapon in your inventory 2. Grouped up with my friend, we completed 2 Heroic Strikes together (with a 3rd random each time) and didn't get credit for the strikes at all. And yes we did see the "Heroic Strike Playlist" display while in orbit. SO I suggest either going in with a full FT or queuing up for it solo (solo worked for me)
The best spot I've found to farm the Cabal for the first task is the ledge right outside Ana's window, right above where the Cabal Rig event takes place. Warbeasts and Psions spawn endlessly if you stay back toward the corner, and you're free to keep killing.
Oh look, another asset grab from D1, but made shittier, gotta love how the Destiny devs call lazy exotics like this "new and cool" returns, when the only really changed returning exotic was hardlight. Prob never getting back into this game but still love your content Datto.
Sleeper sim was my favorite exotic, would've been cooler in D2 if they didn't have more D1 exotics then not. If all of the base exotics were new and then sleeper sim was added, that'd be pretty awesome, but Papa Bungis can't seem to do anything right.

If you don't get stems to drop it's because you didn't do the 2nd mission. You have to do 3 patrols and a lostsector on Mars. Doing this now got 5/15 Sleeper nodes. Also it's just Strikes now instead of "heroic"
Now I’m convinced they only added this kind of quest line back just to allow content creators like you or someone else make videos like these. It’s pretty sad the state this game has put itself in.
Btw if anyone is still doing this quest, you don't need to equip the hand cannon, it just needs to be in your inventory (rather than in vault or collections)
Pro tip: Don’t waste your time doing the Key fragment things to open the floating music boxes UNTIL AFTER heroic strikes. It won’t count towards the quest!
Well when so much of the fanbase is begging them to bring back old gear, it's not really Bungie's fault to add them to Destiny 2. Some people really liked and miss their old gear and think it would still be a valuable piece of equipment in this game. Not really a big deal at all in my mind. I'm still waiting to get Bones of Eao back.
Should have been in the game from the very beginning, all the old exotic armor and weapons should have been in the base game in D2 + new exotics. They're just catching up on their mistakes now.

Got lucky enough when 6 other guardians decided to do the same task of grinding the Escalation Protocols. Since then I've been assisting others in the protocol with the sleeper, unfortunately as with many others, guardians tend to steer away from helping out and watch from a distance while doing the popcorn emote.
Note: the visual distortion only happens if you're looking at the node, even if the node is on the other side of a wall. This basically means that you can use this to help you find the node's location if you can't physically see it. However, there's a bug that I *think* is only for repeat nodes where you can hear it, but not get the distortion (there's a moment in the video where this occurs.)
That moment when you grind for the last 28 resonate stems, doesn’t let you combine them, so you dismantle the quest, get it back, resets all of your progress and then lets you combine them
It amazes me that I can't even find two people on PC to help me clear the Level 1 Escalation Protocol, even through LFG or the Destiny Discord Server. People call this the best community, when no one wants to help each other out. GGs!
I'm running through the campaign on my hunter and my God this gun melts the huge yellow bar enemies in the 1st mission so fast. 1 shot takes down 2 and a half bars.
I do actually use the Hand Cannon, even though I'm not a fan of them... it has great range and if you "aim small", most of them are one-shot kills. I suspect the reason why Heroic Strikes are bugged for the quest is because it needs them to be Warmind-specific, though there's no guarantee those deploy in the playlist... Sleeper was a great Heavy Fusion Rifle and I'm glad it graces us with its presence again (in spite of Bungie's "two shot rule" for Power weapons).

Well when so much of the fanbase is begging them to bring back old gear, it's not really Bungie's fault to add them to Destiny 2. Some people really liked and miss their old gear and think it would still be a valuable piece of equipment in this game. Not really a big deal at all in my mind. I'm still waiting to get Bones of Eao back.
Should have been in the game from the very beginning, all the old exotic armor and weapons should have been in the base game in D2 + new exotics. They're just catching up on their mistakes now.

I have no issues with them bringing back Destiny 1 weapons/armors, just think hiding them behind paid dlc is a scumbag move. They should be apart of the free updates and dlc should contain new stuff.
The public events flashpoint milestone is another good way of doing powerful enemies, I did that part of the quest before I finished the milestone. 2 birds with 1 stone and all that

Got lucky enough when 6 other guardians decided to do the same task of grinding the Escalation Protocols. Since then I've been assisting others in the protocol with the sleeper, unfortunately as with many others, guardians tend to steer away from helping out and watch from a distance while doing the popcorn emote.

Note: the visual distortion only happens if you're looking at the node, even if the node is on the other side of a wall. This basically means that you can use this to help you find the node's location if you can't physically see it. However, there's a bug that I *think* is only for repeat nodes where you can hear it, but not get the distortion (there's a moment in the video where this occurs.)
That moment when you grind for the last 28 resonate stems, doesn’t let you combine them, so you dismantle the quest, get it back, resets all of your progress and then lets you combine them

For the first time, I actually accomplished something before datto put a video out on it.
It amazes me that I can't even find two people on PC to help me clear the Level 1 Escalation Protocol, even through LFG or the Destiny Discord Server. People call this the best community, when no one wants to help each other out. GGs!

I'm running through the campaign on my hunter and my God this gun melts the huge yellow bar enemies in the 1st mission so fast. 1 shot takes down 2 and a half bars.
I do actually use the Hand Cannon, even though I'm not a fan of them... it has great range and if you "aim small", most of them are one-shot kills. I suspect the reason why Heroic Strikes are bugged for the quest is because it needs them to be Warmind-specific, though there's no guarantee those deploy in the playlist...
Sleeper was a great Heavy Fusion Rifle and I'm glad it graces us with its presence again (in spite of Bungie's "two shot rule" for Power weapons).
