I REALLY hope Bungie sees the potential of a 9 man activity in future patrol areas. The more players going at it the harder the encounters can be, the more strong enemies they can throw at us... I really believe this sort of thing is the next big step for Destiny.
UltraViolence the issue with that is it becomes super limited as far as audience goes. Getting 9 people who all work well together is incredibly hard to do and if you use a pickup team there would be too much audio clutter with 9, especially in a hectic activity like this
People are literally playing this way with Escalation Protocol right now. All you have to do is join an active clan and you'll find people who want to play it with ease. Anything beats going in and having to message randoms and asking them to invite people for you.

Have your group of 9 people all go to mars, then have a few people stay put on maps that have nobody on there, everyone else needs to fast travel repeatedly until they join one of the people who is staying put. Once one person has joined, everyone else then needs to continue spamming fast travel until another person makes it in. Once you have that, you'll have 3 people all with free spots on their fireteam in the same map. You can then have your remaining 6 people join.
I've done it around 5 times with randoms only managed once to get past level one and it is hard majority of players including me are still in low light level
We always have 4-5 people TRYING to do this but we so low... We can't even do the first level... The struggle is real! I do wish they match make people for 9 all the time plus allow 4-9 man patrols...
My group managed to get 9 people together today and we only got to level 4 and couldn't kill the bosses. Though we were all about 345-350 so that was a big effort. Also the game became a 1fps slideshow the entire time....

It’s raid level content, difficulty wise at least, 15 levels above our max and at the current time, nigh on impossible for all but the very top echelon of players. And all they give us from the base encounter without the cache key is fucking shaders?
You can farm the weapons with no key, and it's by no means raid level content. Once people are near cap 9 people will be able to do this in their sleep, and 6 people should be able to do it pretty easily. At that point you'd just do it once a week then wait till reset. With the key it stretches it out to 3 or 4 times.
@21:51 onward - really shows what Destiny 2 fireteam fights could have been this whole time. Reading in the grimoire and lore about epic large-scale pitched fights between a line of guardians and a solid wave of Hive is something we never really got to see and experience until (I think) just now. If that damn rock on the right wasn't a little bit in the way, it would have been picturesque; a frameable moment of two front lines clashing. Great work and fun as hell to watch. (also, all that work and only shaders?)

Datto, how do you feel about the new Sleeper Simulant? I cant remember how powerful it was in D1 in comparison, but I feel like I should be One-shotting some majors when it just...doesn't. Granted I still only have it at 345, so perhaps once I get higher it'll feel more powerful.
Lukewuzhere pretty sure sleeper did only 2 shot most majors, but that's just from memory and most of the time I just used sleeper for dps and used a shotgun for ads

The only problem with a lot of the gear in the Warmind DLC is that it is gear-locked or group locked, which is fine if you have an active group but if your friends have left and your clan isn't very active then you are practically screwed with some of these objectives.
Ive been saying this since D1... This game needs an 8 man team event or mission. Ever since my first time playing prison of the elders. Imagine something similar to POE but in a large open space with a minimum of 8 participants. Add a few level tiers with exclusive loot and BOOM destiny is fun again.

I think 9 man or more activities really bring the community together and encourage people to play even when they really don't have a reason to besides milestones. I'll reference FFXIV hunts here. My maxed character had zero reason to do them. But being with that many people doing such a fun activity just made you want to go. I know it's not an MMO, but MMO aspects would flesh out the game better.

I'd like a detailed guide, what each level consists of and for each location. Also class roles. Warlocks seem very open but I guess for this you want void walker for the extra damage but arc soul is good too.
