I remember the days at Johnny Lats - it was the best gym in NYC at the time. I know Vic, Kai, and other Pros. Even celebs would train there (Stallone, Snipes, Melly Mel, and more). Best gym days of my life.
i love victor and i love kai. but in this clip, i can't help but think that Dorian YAtes has the best tricep. great video by the way. i enjoyed it immensely.
Full range of motion is supposed to fully target more overall muscle work in a lift. However, partials usually focus more on one muscle or even on part of a muscle (example, half preacher curls for bicep peaks). Actually all that really matters is what movement works best for your muscles. Everyone is different. Sometimes full range will build your muscles best and sometimes partials with build best. You do whatever works for you.
agreed. Jay will win this year, but I just want him to actually look like he deserves it by coming in condition. He was off last year but he usually comes in shape, so I hope he comes in ripped this year. =)
Olympia Results 2008: 1. Jay Cutler 2. Victor Matinez (that's if he can recover from his current injury) 3. Dexter Jackson 4. Dennis Wolf 5. Melvin Anthony I cant see it change much from last yr.
@mandora45 well said my friend well said and props to Victor Martinez as one of the youngest pro bodybuilder's out there i see you Victor keep up the good word one day ill be up there with you at a show and Kai Greene man you the men all ways well be don't Stop
@safewaysecurity aso what he's doing is he's not doing the full range of motion instead he's only coming up half way which keeps more focus on the muscle
How come all I ever hear about is full range of motion and then watch some of the best pro's never go full range, always some type of partial. They don't seem to do the exercises as intended. For example when Victor was doing the overhead dumbell ext for tri's in the previous vid. If you ever watch him do back, it's the same thing. Can anyone explain?
Recent videos of kai and phil posing together will make you think differently. It'll be an intense ass olympia but it's down to phil and kai, my money's on kai
You gotta give credit to Dave Palumbo..He is always doing great interviews, I mean, he is good at it, he excellent at doing interviews with bodybuilders
victor will be in doubt to be in the Mr. O 2008. he tore a tendon stretching. i seriously doubt he'll be recovered AND ready to compete. so this year, cutler will probably win again. jackson and wolf will probably be the other top finishers. heath might be in the top 3 if he comes in looking like he did at the ironman.
@MrAssassinful Yea if you read my comment I acknowledged that genetetics has a part of it but It's actually only about 50% geneteics. 50% steroids. And how do you know I can't look like Kai, what if I have good genetics?
i think dennis will be higher as long as he gets his condtioning spot on ...if victor can maintain what he brought to o7 mr o he will beat jay unless jay can pull out some bigger bigger guns
wow yea dennis wolf is coming on strong really fast, he must have gotten secret super steroids, cause he used to have a really regular physique for bodybuilders, but wolfe will place prolly 10th-5th place
Ahem, My muscle building endevours maximum for 2-6 repetitions causes myofibrillated hypertrophy to dominate , while several repetitions against a sub-maximal load facilitates mainly sarcoplasmic hypertrophy .The first measurable effect is an increase in the neural drive stimulating muscle contraction thus spawning bodybuildin .... This would be kai's answer to an interviewers question of " Do you like bodybuilding?" he needs to learn when to sound intelligent and articulate and when not to.
@80sn90s You're the one who said it was genetics in the first place lol. And duhh, obviously they work really hard, have good genetics and take steroids responsibly.
Take home: don’t ask BBers like this questions if you want any exercise science truth..ie. Doesn’t work the long head preferentially at least; peak contraction at end focuses on the medial..basics anyone knows lol idk if he’s just joking or high or what..Kai has tiny arms here..so how did his biceps suddenly explode I wonder?
I hate how these guys cannot admit to steroid use. Kai rambles on about genetics but in reality a large part of those "genetics" come from juice. Anyway's they still worked hard to get where they are at so props to them anyway.
victor martinez..once he recovers..he's mr. olympia..hands down..he's takin it
I remember the days at Johnny Lats - it was the best gym in NYC at the time. I know Vic, Kai, and other Pros. Even celebs would train there (Stallone, Snipes, Melly Mel, and more). Best gym days of my life.
kai greene is become big because of his technique! outstanding technique! !
i love victor and i love kai. but in this clip, i can't help but think that Dorian YAtes has the best tricep. great video by the way. i enjoyed it immensely.
this vid makes me want to train right now.
GRAPEFRUIT GREENE!!!

kai has the best technique out of all the mr olympia contenders ive seen so far
he was AMAZING yesterday at Arnold Classic
kai has soooooo much better form in every excersize
agreed. Jay will win this year, but I just want him to actually look like he deserves it by coming in condition. He was off last year but he usually comes in shape, so I hope he comes in ripped this year. =)
I was wondering why Kai looked smaller. This is from 07.

@safewaysecurity well the best advice i can give you is to keep the elbows pretty close to your body... and keep them in the same position.
he will definately be a mr olympia soon
Louie, you got arms, he's got spaghetti arms!
@mandora45 well said my friend well said and props to Victor Martinez as one of the youngest pro bodybuilder's out there i see you Victor keep up the good word one day ill be up there with you at a show and Kai Greene man you the men all ways well be don't Stop
olha a diferenca na qualidade de treino do kai, movimentos executados como devem ser, flexao e extensao totais.
@Gunmetallic91 Thats because his upper body part of his back is so huge...
So comparatively it looks so small from the the back
man kai greene is a smart guy
@MrAssassinful haha yeah kai's a baws! he's so philisophical and knowledgeable about bodybuilding, knows inside out.
yeup.
considering he is a bodybuilder himself, he knows what they go through.
What type of stack do these guys cycle?...
@safewaysecurity aso what he's doing is he's not doing the full range of motion instead he's only coming up half way which keeps more focus on the muscle
Wow, kai greene was so small back to 2007
How come all I ever hear about is full range of motion and then watch some of the best pro's never go full range, always some type of partial. They don't seem to do the exercises as intended. For example when Victor was doing the overhead dumbell ext for tri's in the previous vid. If you ever watch him do back, it's the same thing. Can anyone explain?
they dont go the full distance of motion because it puts alot of pressure on your elbow which can give you arthritis
Recent videos of kai and phil posing together will make you think differently. It'll be an intense ass olympia but it's down to phil and kai, my money's on kai
its true..
Omg these vids are so much more fun without the commentary!! Plug in a headset and listen with only the right speaker... or maybe it's just me
You gotta give credit to Dave Palumbo..He is always doing great interviews, I mean, he is good at it, he excellent at doing interviews with bodybuilders
wow kai still maintains good form at 5:45 while that victor was already losing it
Some people say "um". Victor says "you know" haha.
what suburb
also at 2009 :P
fucking sweet.
victor will be in doubt to be in the Mr. O 2008. he tore a tendon stretching. i seriously doubt he'll be recovered AND ready to compete. so this year, cutler will probably win again. jackson and wolf will probably be the other top finishers. heath might be in the top 3 if he comes in looking like he did at the ironman.
victor liked wrestling class
@MrAssassinful Yea if you read my comment I acknowledged that genetetics has a part of it but It's actually only about 50% geneteics. 50% steroids. And how do you know I can't look like Kai, what if I have good genetics?
KAI STAYS TRUE TO HIS WORDS WHEN IT COMES TO OVERTRAINING! Oh man i thought his answer was going to be different since this video is 7 years old lol.
Well you can overtrain when your on juice. It helps to repair your muscles rapidly.
Hello, have you considered this program called the Fat Blast Furnace? (google it). My cousin says it helps people lose weight easily.
RIGHT... im off to the gym... whos coming to spot???
WHYYYY THEY DONT HAVE THE ARMS LIKE ARNOLD OR LOU,WHY???
to be fair to Kai, he seems to be doing full range of motion. It's Vicotr I'm really asking about. Coleman does the same thing.
I wanna hear Kai after one of these questions like ' ah, yea you see.. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET ME TRAIN'
how? i dont know what u mean.....
@MusclesNoGlasses musclesnoglasses..lol sweet name
and they train with only water!!...right? :p
i want to live past 50 lol
i think dennis will be higher as long as he gets his condtioning spot on ...if victor can maintain what he brought to o7 mr o he will beat jay unless jay can pull out some bigger bigger guns
Not a chance jay will win again, its victors time... the injury will heal by the end of the year as long as he doesn't fuck around with it
2:32 ...i wish i could make phil hear this..oohh the irony
wow yea dennis wolf is coming on strong really fast, he must have gotten secret super steroids, cause he used to have a really regular physique for bodybuilders, but wolfe will place prolly 10th-5th place

he needs to learn when to sound intelligent and articulate and when not to.
Who are you to talk
@80sn90s You're the one who said it was genetics in the first place lol. And duhh, obviously they work really hard, have good genetics and take steroids responsibly.

yeah they're on steriods, but you can't get like that without hard work & strict nutrition
wtf those pushdowns are too easy for kai, and the form!!
Kai has much better form the Victor (might explain his gut as well lol)
What does that have to do with his gut? Seems like you don't know what you're talking about.
@RoidsR4Gods
...
sunglasses ???? what is all that about in a gym.. great bodybuilders just dont get the sun glasses for trainin
i think kai have ADS
i love the fantastic concentration of victor martinez
-but kai green it's a little bit stupid :-s
...
The great Kai looks to much better than Victor! And Kai uses the full range of movement in every exercises!
I hate how these guys cannot admit to steroid use. Kai rambles on about genetics but in reality a large part of those "genetics" come from juice. Anyway's they still worked hard to get where they are at so props to them anyway.
@SteroidsAreForLosers
...
Futile... Give it Up.
kai has better technique
at this point they dont care if the technique is right or not , with those tons of roids doesnt matter!! right victor??
Kai needs to stop trying to sound like a smart person, with all these stupid explanations for things that don't really make sense.
