Imagine a backyard football player in his 30's making an NFL team. It wouldn't matter if he was just a marginal starter or a special team player, that would be AMAZING. Its too early now because we wouldn't appreciate it. But in maybe 5 or 6 years they need a movie called Slice. Not a low budget movie, but a real Hollywood blockbuster about his life. From taking baths in the ocean because he was so poor, to his football career, to the hurricane, to the backyard, to the UFC.

I hate Schaub, but this got my upvote. This was a great tribute to Kimbo and a needed glimpse behind the scenes for those who just knew his TH-cam persona. This might be the first thing of Schaub's that I enjoyed (and Ive listened to days worth of his yapping on Rogan), but he gets props for putting this out there.

He had the same thing i have. Congestive heart failure. Im 38.. i can barely play basketball without feeling faint and he was fighting. It explains his last fight. It makes you exhausted sometimes even when you're not doing anything

You know you were real and made an impact on people when someone does this. In life no one owes you anything, but for Schaub to feel like he owed Kimbo this speaks volumes not only about Kimbo but Schaub as well. Side note one of my favorite lines in a song come from “Ice cream paint Job” TRUNK HIT HARD LIKE KIMBO SLICE.

fedor would only sign with the ufc if when he fought it would be co-promoted with his brand, m1 global. the rumor was that the ufc said they would let that happen, but only if fedor did tuf 10 because ratings were down over the past few seasons. it was a big rumor for a couple weeks or so.

anyone who watched that season to TUF had to have come away with an appreciation for Kimbo as a human being. there was just such a dramatic difference between Kevin Ferguson the man and "Kimbo Slice" the character. as somebody from the streets, i always want to see a street guy make good. but i was so impressed with how much of his genuine heart he allowed to shine through and the very real gratitude he had for what he'd been given. he wasn't just a walking, talking, ego trip. he was a real dude.

Their season of the fighter gave me so much more respect for Evans he was a great coach and was there for everyone trying to improve them self. I liked him as a fighter but seeing him as a person made me appreciate what a good man he is.
This story touched my heart, I hope everyone has someone in their life who has so many kind things to say about them. I fear I am alone and when I am gone no one will care.

Kimbo was overly hated and criticized by most. He always seemed like a mild manored, humble, and genuine dude. People disliked him cuz he was famous. Its just a sad trait among human beings to hate on things we dont understand, or cant achieve. I was sad to hear he passed. It's a shame really

Brendan Schaub is another great example of not judging a book by its cover. The first time I saw this dude talk I thought he was some dumb jock frat bro with a pea brain, and he does come off that way, but the dude's got a good head on his shoulders and when it counts, he shows he's a good guy who cares about other people, and when he discusses his area of expertise (MMA) with others, he really shows it. Not your average guy.
