      For me anyone who un-glues their ass from the couch, goes to the gym, trains for 90 minutes a day, does sparring every second day and then fights in regional or national trials - is already a hero, who can look in the mirror with respect towards themselves. As long as you are not just an "armchair fighter" - you deserve respect. Whoever has the balls to face the pain and fatigue is a Man in my book. And loss can teach you more than a win. That i can testify.

      Yes Schaub made 12,000 for showing up, 12,000 for the win, an additional 50k for finishing his opponent ( Extra Incentive they added so fighters would go for the risk more often, thus making it more "Entertaining" ) and another 50,000 to him/mirko for fight of the night. + Sponsors at that point in time would put him in the 124k + anywhere from 30-70k in sponsors, so we're up to 154-194,000 for Schaub - Taxes. He probably cleared around 100 Grand in total after you factor in camp prices/food/rent.

Schaub admitted he purposefully ignored the labels and ate it all anyway to piss him off and when the guy got annoyed he started a fight with him to try and get him to move out and in so threw him through a window. The when all the fans wrote in and said it sounds like you were bullying that dude, Schaub got all defensive and said he was getting bullied. He lives his life. You live yours. But I do know from watching parts of his podcast and listening to him that he LOVES his friends and family. That might be the part that a lot of you people miss...maybe you don't have the ability to LOVE someone other than yourself. He worries about his friends to the point that it makes him sick. He even gave Brendan a hella-ish brow beating about his fighting ability and fighting level and straight up told him 'I don't believe you are a top level fighter. You can't keep getting knocked out. And you should think about retiring.' To the point that it made Brendan cry. He said this to him on-air for everyone to hear, because he loves Brendan.

Shaub is dumb as all hell.

      Thats an athletes mind, no high level professional goes into the octagon/field/whatever and think they are gonna lose. They need to hype themself up and the thought that he doenst deserve to step into the same octogon as Cro Cop maybe came to his mind later in life.

      +neko even if that were the case (and it isn't necessarily the case 'cos one should be relaxed and cool headed and being "hyped up" might lose that), but even if that were the case, he beat him so I really don't think that he believes he doesn't deserve to be in the ring with him. Brendan Schaub played in the NFL, almost won the Ultimate fighter, left MMA with a record of 10 wins 5 losses.
    He is a regular on one of the most popular podcasts in the world and has a successful one of his own. He is also doing Stand-up too. Ohhh and he is 35 years old. hmmm I guess these are the reasons why people hate on him so much. It sucks seeing someone be so much more happy and successful than yourself.

      Yet they called that a TKO????? Can you believe that shit. That was NOT a TKO. TKO's don't involve an unnecessary shot on an opponent that is clearly knocked out.Look how he fell limp on to himself. What dumb ass ruled that a TKO?

    • @SRNF
      @SRNF 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ya its weird but i assume its just a weird thing where the ref pull him off and called it thinking crocop was still awake....happens a few times. In the DC vs Jones 2 it was a TKO on record but if you watch the footage in the last 2 strikes DC is ko'd on the floor.

    • @jonathanwright2925
      @jonathanwright2925 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely happens. I've been watching MMA since the late 90's and not just UFC. Pride FC was the first promotion I ever paid attention to heavily. I remember all the Pride years, WEC, Strike Force, etc that originally held some of UFC's current main talent. It's just crazy when to me when a fight has people talking about unnecessary blows after being KO'd because Mirco was 100% KO'd to fall the way he did, & then they call it a TKO win. There was nothing TKO about that one.
      Then on the flipside of this there were some amazing fights at UFC 217 last night that were TKO's being called KO's. Like WTF? If you Joanna was alert enough to actually tap to strikes after being rocked by Rose and dropped HARD. It shouldn't have been ruled a KO, or even a TKO at that point even, it's truly a win by submission tapping to strikes. Or call it a TKO due to tapping to strikes. Yet that was ruled a KO. Dont get me wrong Joanna was dropped and her eyes went but it was the follow up strikes and the tap that got the fight stopped.
      TJ's win was a TKO called a KO as well. Garbrandt wasn't snoozing but he was rocked in the same way TJ was rocked but saved by the bell in round 1 to come back and do it to Cody in round 2 without the clock to save Cody. In that situation though i don't really care as much if they called it KO or TKO but in the Joanna Rose fight if you are tapping to strikes like GSP vs Serra 1... you aren't knocked out. Whatever the ref rules it makes it is what it is, but there should be a more concrete system to TKO or KO... especially in a case where someone taps to strikes because they no they aren't coming back from that shot and they want to avoid any further brain damage.
      It just goes to show they mess up the calls in all directions i guess. They will call a KO a TKO, a TKO a KO, and a submission by taps to strikes a KO (which if not a submission by taps to strikes, should be ruled a TKO not KO)
