About Captain of Industry:
Captain of Industry is a colony and factory simulation game. Your journey will start with a small crew of survivors on an abandoned island. If you do things right, you'll work your way up towards a self-sufficient colony and will play an important part in the region's industry. But first, in order to survive, you will need to mine raw materials, grow food, build factories, manufacture products, construct vehicles, research new technologies, explore your surroundings, and trade with other islands. If you are successful, you can even start a space program and build rockets!
World resources (the stuff you need cargo ships for) are no longer infinite by default. You can set them to be unlimited (it's among the difficulty settings) when creating a game, though that is a bit too late for you right now.
iirc, the sawmill among a few other things are infinite. The main "other thing" would be contracts, which would be the way to become indefinitely sustainable.
Right right, forgot about those. It's sawmill and water well that are unlimited regardless of settings, and those two make sense to always be unlimited.
And you're right with the contracts but I'm not sure how well that will work out, a.k.a is there enough "profit margin" to cover your needs once you get to that stage/size.
why does this game look so much like automation empire? lmfao that was the first time i saw your channel was when you did the play through of it and beat the game, it introduced me to you, I checked out your channel and saw you did stuff like city skylines and satisfactory so I subscribed and have been since. thank you for all the amazing content, and please continue making such good content 😁
Watching Kibitz play this game makes me think of raft but years later in the game time. Anyone else get that feel?

so I learned yesterday that this game is:
a) a Czech game (that's where I happen to be from),
b) made by only two dudes - MaFi games (Marek & Filip),
c) they worked on it since 2015 (7 years!).

I’ve played through twice, now on my third play through I’ve paid the world resources unlimited so I can play basically sandbox mode with no fear of running out of stuff
I would build ramps to higher elevation areas with your garbage/ slag/ etc.

should get power generation 1 & 2 before starting your oil set up. you'll at some point end up with to much slag, witch you can dump into the sea to build out more land.... for build space

You still haven't upgraded the old farm or connected the irrigated farms to a water supply.
you dont lose the ship in battle. if it gets low, it flees. then you just repair it and keep going.
while 3000 years of oil is a lot thats most likly based on current consumption and either way its not infinite. Things starting to come together, really want to get this game after watching your play thru
I restarted the game 3 times before i got the hang of positioning etc. Sadly, a belt is not the best way to transport slag imo.

i must be blind or stupid but how do you debuild in this game? i know you can cancel construction mid way through but i haven't found in game a way to DE build a structure once its finished.
Press the delete key and click on the structure you want to demolish, there is a demolish button somewhere on the interface too
The bulldozer icon among tools in lower left. As of the latest patch you can also press ctrl+d (in addition to delete) to enter deconstruct mode.
