Thank you so much. I was able to fix mine thanks to this video. In my case it was broken in a different way. I fixed it with epoxy cold welding glue for the broken parts and then removed the original opening system and replaced it with springs like in the video. 🎉

My G is a bit different. It's made with a hole for the GPS to sit in front of that compartment. I can't even open that compartment... I don't know if it's supposed to be like that, or it's just broken?

I believe there is room for the plug-in GPS. But I don't have a GPS unit. Not that I want one.
But I would like the cubby hole tho

Somebody has glued it closed

Mine was also glued closed. Forced it open, attached a new clip, and now it opens and closes normally. 👍

Without the right measure for the springs and screws this wont work.
