I studied at the university of north carolina and attended an asian studies deparment event in 2016 when the JNU controversy was happening. The entire discussion panel and students apart from me were totally in favor of the JNU protesting students citing free speech and what not. One american lady even called modi a 'fishy character'. This really ticked me off so I had to interrupt this echo chamber since this lady showed clear bias which didn't stem from a simple passion for defending human rights and freedom in India. I asked her to elaborate on this and she referenced the gujrat riots and muslim deaths in 2002. I retorted by saying many muslims were targets of hate crime in America after 9/11 so did Bush personally order and supervise these attacks? To this she and one other professor ganged up on me saying it was a false comparison and I was inexperienced to comment on this since I hadn't studied in college in India like some of the department's Indian faculty. So I said USA's laws don;t necessrily apply in India although both the nations are democratic (ex. sedition law in India, Can't burn the tricolour). ESSENTIALLY, DON'T TELL US HOW TO RUN OUR COUNTRY, YANKK!!!! Finally after the event concluded, a group of students pulled out a banner proclaiming solidarity with the jnu protestors and took photos so I left the scene since I don't want my future compromised by association with things that coulde be percieved as anti-national/Indian. (Just wanted to share this anecdote when Vivek ji mentioned north carolina)

On the first level channels that talk negatively about India, attracts 1,000,000s of veiwers from around the world -- Indians, who have best interests of their country, Disgruntled Indians AND it also attracts Blacks and Whites who love to bash Indians. Each of these videos, if you see their homepages, have millions of views for negative content on India, 1000s of comments bashing Indians (repeat viewers of the same video) and all the while these channels rake in Ad revenues by showing Ads to the millions of viewers. On the second level this content pits Indians against other Indians thus promoting the Breaking India forces. Now coming back to News Laundry, I had never heard of them. For the first time after this controversy, went and read articles on their website. They seemed pretty amateurish. But then I realized that this is exactly what they want and employing the same tactics being employed by western media. They pick on people like Rajiv Malhotra and Vivek Agnihotri, produce negative content on them and the next thing you know it attracts the attention of millions of followers of Rajivji and Vivekji to their websites and 1000s of disgruntled individuals. A hitherto unknown jo-blo suddenly has huge surge of traffic to their websites where they mint money showing Ads and selling goods on their websites. The question I have is (applicable to both Foreign and Domestic media): How do you counter such propaganda without benefiting them? Because if we address this question then we can be assured that we can cut down on at least 50% of negativity on India. One suggestion I have is to STOP going to their online websites completely where they can't profit from you or collect information on you. I do however believe that ignoring a problem is not the best solution, that Indians should give befitting replies/rebuttals to comments on youtube but at the same time petition Google to stop monetizing negative content on India and thirdly to publicly boycott products whose Ads are shown in the videos of channels that repeatedly produce negative content on India. This applies to youtube channels of both Foreign and Domestic news channels. I am curious if anyone have other ideas.

Rajivji, kindly discuss Tanushree issue also with Vivek and pave way for it to be put to rest. He had the courage to accept that there was a time he himself was an urban naxal. His experiences led him to a change of path. If he indeed disrespected a woman, if he owns up and apologizes, that would only increase respect in the eyes of his well wishers. Correct, even I came to this video because I was expecting some reply from him. The kind of allegations Tanushree has made against him seems to be genuine untill he makes some comments on it. His intentions will be in question in the mind of his followers who wish him well for his good intentions shown recently by his work done over several years. I genuinely trust his work but Tanushree seems so genuine. I am not talking about some other ladies in the metoo movement whose allegations seems to be revenge for personal grudges.
