This is part 1 of a 3-part series with Dr. Nagaswamy.
The thesis of Dr. Nagaswamy is as follows:
    1. The ancient Tamil classics that comprise the foundation of Tamil culture are based on Vedas, Manu’s Dharmashastra as a code of worldly life. The most important Tamil text claimed by Dravidian chauvinists for separate origins from Vedas is Tirukkural. Yet the 3 books it consists of are in direct correspondence with the structure and content of Dharmashastra.
    2. Book 1 of Tirukkural is Aram which is an exact correspondence of Dharma. Book 2 called Porul exactly corresponds to Artha in Manu’s system. And Book3 called Kama is a Tamil version of Manu’s thesis on Kama. The sequence as well as exact structure matches perfectly in both Tamil Tirukkural and Sanskrit Dharmashastras.
    3. Dr. Nagaswamy shows point by point that exact correspondence between this foundational Tamil text and certain Sanskrit shastras.
    4. For example, there is EXACT correspondence between the Sanskrit shastras practice of Pancha-maha-yajna (five great yajnas) and their Tamil equivalents, in the ceremonial offering of food to: 1) Devas, 2) Rishis, 3) Pitri/ancestors, 4) Atithi/guests, and 5) Bhuta or other living beings. Dr Nagaswamy shows that the exact same Sanskrit verses are translated into Tamil.

Indian culture has four limbs that are Tamil (and the other four southern states), Bengali (including Odisha and Assam), Hindi Belt (North and Central India), and Marathi (Gujarat and Maharashtra). Another great limb was Sindh/Punjab that was lost in the past. We also added a few limbs in South East Asia that were again lost in the past.

Unless Dravidian myth is rooted out completely thru thorough scholarship from multiple disciplines and retake the narratives to a more correct one, this uphill battle is one of the toughest ones. Congrats to Dr Nagaswamy for drawing parallels to what is almost obvious after it is pointed. The Breaking India forces are in hyperdrive in TN, with the dravidian poison for over 5 decades killing the roots of the civilization and legacy. High time to turn the tide.

Oh funny @Vijay Narain Mishra, First of all, I am a hindu devotee with a passion for history. Nagaswamy born to Sanskrit pundit Ramachandran Sastrigal. He graduated in Sanskrit from the University of Madras and pursued a master's degree in Sanskrit. This same legend who accused Carbon(C14) dating is wrong which calculated the date of IVC, Sumerian, Egyptian, but he will accept Vedic civilization is 1500 BC without any evidence. If anyone asks how u came to the conclusion on Vedic civilization, he told Max Muller told it, the fact is Max Muller never came to India and Muller also declared Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada are Dravidian language not related to Sanskrit but Nagaswamy's intellectual mind will not accept Max Muller in it. He also served as director of the archaeology of Tamilnadu, during his tenure, he excavated a site called Alakankulam in 1986 he dig only 11 points even after getting enough evidence he purposely closed the project never sent that evidence to any research. Even today no one knows where are those evidence. If anyone wants to know the history of India never listen to it from a brahmin for them everything starts from Veda's and ends in Ram temple, true they even tried to convert donkey to the horse in Indus valley but luckily the world is awake this time. I apologize if I hurt anyone, If u want to conduct a scientific study u should have an open mind. Think when Gallelio in 1663 said the world was spherical, then Vatican pope gave him the death penalty, but now in 1992, the Pope apologized in public. For the past few decades, there is a study to trace the first language of humans called Nostratic studies or world mother tongue studies by pan world linguistic researchers. According to it, all humans in the world spoke one language at a time, for this study our so-called Sanskrit intellectuals submitted their studies. As recent progress, they were able to crack the roots of the entire Indo-European(Sanskrit comes under it) language into 472 root words but they can't pull it back to 9000 years. The oldest Indo European language is Anatolia once spoken near turkey. Then coming to Tamil go and search for a relation between Indus Valley civilization and Tamil, from Iravatha Mahadevan IAS,"JOURNEY OF CIVILISATION INDUS TO VAIGAI" by Balakrishnan IAS these above two books are based on science and evidence not on any myth. Rakhigarhi is the answer for you guys, 4500-year-old woman DNA proves there is no link with steppes pastorals(Aryan) haplogroup (R1A1), it matches with Ancestral South Indian (ASI), not with Ancestral North Indian(ANI), where this adds up the Indus valley civilization developed flourished without Vedas,Sanskrit,Aryans and without any Vedic religious worship. Also, search about Australian aborigines and Tamils relation.
NOTE: read it with an open mind, passion to truth and without hatred.

But these days nobody cares about dharma and infact everyone has become self centered. Those who consider themselves as masters of human rights are content in staging some protests . But when it really comes to solve the problem why do they fail?? In fact we are doomed cause we have divided ourselves.

Fellow citizens in the north of India should seek to learn more about other subculture alien to the cow belt. South in spite of anti-hindi current are aware of Ramayan and Mahabharat. thirukkuraL (kuraL) , PHILOSOPHY OF PENINSULAR INDIA. is a compendium of many things pertaining to human values and thought. They are brief and precise, well written without any vagueness or confusion either in meaning or syntax. The verses are direct in their concept and clear in their meaning. The classic kuraL is a book that does not deal with any speculative concepts, as found in the Upanishads . Speculation gives raise to multiple interpretations and the possible conflicts. They ultimately divide the society they intend to enrich. The vagueness and speculative character encourages people with vested interests to meddle with the text by inserting passages.
Tamil culture believes in equality of living beings at birth. Thirukkural 972.
But Sanatana dharam differentiates humans by birth into four divisions, varna, keeping the Brahmins at top.

Very informative. All Tamil Brahmins know and accept what Dr. Nagaswamy is saying.
Santana Dharma and all our Indian languages go hand in hand.
There is lot of corruption in Tamil language alphabets pronunciation etc. there has been a conscious effort to diverge from Sanskrit base due to Dravidian rule in Tamil Nadu.
The thing now is Tamil is not Hindu
But these Dravidian parties will never say Tamil is not Muslim or Christian. People having Hindu names are Christians.
For example A person with name uma shankar or Arumugam which are lord Shiva and Subramanya names will preach Christianity and convert People. This is the level of penetration of the church

I'm completely amazed and so overwhelmed by Rajiv Ji's effort for the cause of Dharma. He is doing all this in the true spirit of Yajna (service/sacrifice) as per Vedas. I'm trying to tell as many people about this and trying to spread the word for them to buy the book and read it too. We must be the voice and hands supporting Rajiv ji like an Intellectual Kshatriya as Rajiv ji says for unity and integrity of our great land of Bharat. Also, many many thanks to Dr. Nagaswamy for this life long effort for this service of Dharma which is enlightening us and helping us find our roots and take pride in it. #ArjunaArise #TheTimeIsNow

I am a Kannadiga , who does research on world langugaes and i have good knowledge in Arabic, Chinese , Hindi, Telugu and Kannada , when did reserach on Indian linguistic scripts, the only TWO languages thats stands firm independently is Sanskrit and Tamil . Between the 2, Tamil is older both spoken and written, not to deny in the medevial period Tamil was influenced by sanskrit and begots Kannada, Tulu Brahui , Telugu and latest which is Malayalam which compises the DRAVIDIAN family . Likewise one cant deny the fact Sanskrits langugae birth itself is never without the influence of Tamil , and later the language that got begotten from the influence of Tamil did have the counter influence itself . Egoism is what pulling India down. Hindi which is persian and sanskrit influence tend to lock horns with Tamil. Reason being sasnkrit is so call dead and only live in te alter so hindi takes the position to counter the much ancient Tamil which is purely politics . We have to just accept the fact . Indian soil is the home to such an ancent language but due to egoism much later born languages like chinese and arabic is clamiing that they are older when we have the oldest 2 in hand just that our ego is not willing to accept sanskrit as no 2 . This will just kill us .

Now coming to normally discussing the subject.... it is being proved scientifically that IVC existed along Saraswati and so called mythology i.e. itihaas of Indian civilisation also happened around the time the river flowed. Mahabharata happened just before the Saraswati fully disappeared. Since in those times Sanatan Dharm was followed one can derive that the IVC ppl were followers of the same dharma. The word Arya was in use from Ramayana time. So whoever they were.... Aryans or IVC ppl they were in that regions from 17000 years.
Also latest excavation in Tamil Nadu shows that there was a flourishing civilisation around the same time if not older in South India. So nobody pushed anybody down South. Migrations happen all the time. Who knows how many ppl moved up North from South and vice versa in the thousands of years since the IVC.

like one of his innumerable wives and children have names like stalin, he can adopt a communist name and convert whole lifetime assets and properties into TAMIZHAGAM ASSETS, over which he has no rights, as it was all earned under the fictitious Sanskrit name KARUNANIDHI . You nailed it, Sir. DK/DMK are THE poisonous seeds. And karunanidhi (why did not he find a suitable alternate name in Tamil..........? only to cheat Tamilians!) and his clan are still trying to divide Tamilians from rest of India as Dravidians-Aryans. The poisonous seeds grew so large and deep rooted that they could not be uprooted in near future. In Tamil Nadu, they have already created great hate for HINDUS in general and BRAHMINS in particular. Some vested interests even have gone to the extent of propagating that THIRUVALLUVAR & THURUKKURAL does not belong to any religion, particulary HINDUISM, which is absurd and baseless.
THIRUKKURAL replicates pure VEDIC teaching of DHARMA as ARATHUPPAL - ARTHA as PORUTPAL- KAMA as KAMATHUPPAL of basic concepts of dharmic human life. After duly full filling these basic principles righteously only one can attain THE MOKSHA - THE LIBERATION.
My humble pranams to Dr. Nagaswamy for his forthright research of the HOLY scripture THIRUKKURAL and breaking the shackles of false propaganda by the Dravidian parties hither to spread and profoundly thank Mr. Rajiv Malhotra ji who brought such a great man to the notice of general public like me.

The learned court has changed the name "Manu Needhi Cholan" into "SAMA Needhi Cholan" because, the justice redered to the Cow was not based on MANU DHARMA, but on EQUALITY OF LIFE among every LIVING BEING as envisaged by THIRUKKURAL, that is SAMA NEEDHI. (SAMA means Equal).
MANU DHARMA or NEEDHI is not the same even among human beings, depending upon his birth as a Brahmin, Kshaktriya, Vysya or Sudra. A Sudra would be killed against a murder crime while a Brahmin will go scot free.
But, the Chola King gave death punishment as judgement to his own son for killing a calf of a Cow. He ought to have been called a SAMA NEEDI CHOLAN only.
He was given falsely the "MAnu Needhi Cholan" name by the scheming brahmins of yester years. That mistake was set right by the present HIGH COURT. We all should appreciate it. This Dr.Nagaswamy is trying to market the same lie that was told by his yester year counterparts.

Thiruvalluvar, the author of the book is widely accepted as a Jain preacher. We unanimously celebrate this book because it wasn't written with a god of particular religion in mind. Nor does this advocate for Casteism. This success of this book is in its agnostic tone.
None of his statements are shocking, controversial, revealing or "destroying". In fact, his research supports present day Dravidianism, which basically comes down to " we will teach only our language in schools".
So, let us learn in our own language and we're all happy?

Great talk by Dr. Nagaswamy. The similarity is amazing. I do not want to bring in politics here but one must note that the word 'Dravida" a Sanskrut term was first used by Sri Adi Shankaracharya while introducing himself prior to start of a debate with Sri Mandana Mishra, in Varanasi. He was giving his location of where he came from(Geographical location) which translates into as a body of land with sea(ocean) on three sides, a peninsula. Sri Shankara was born in present day Kerala in Kaladi, called himself 'Dravida Shishu". I believe when debating Sri Mishra, he was a kid of only 12 or 13 years. He left home and his Mother when he was only 6 years old.
I guess the DMK guys in TN, have to find a new word to define themselves and their doctrine.

The persons who know many languages personify the universality of beautiful coexistence and know the importance of sharing the wisdom from one civilization and culture to other. Several ancient Indian literature such as Manusmriti, Kautilya's Arthashastra, Kamandaka's Nitisara bear likeness with the second book (Porul), the book on wealth, of the Kural text, while Vatsyayana's Kamasutra shares similarities with Inbam, the third book of the Kural text (the book on love). However, the attitude and approach of Valluvar in expounding the virtues remain entirely different from any of these contemporary works. While the Artha Shastra is based on subtle statecraft, the Porul of the Kural text bases morality and benevolence as its cornerstones. THE SOCIAL HIERARCHIES AND DISCRIMINATION found in Manusmriti are contrasted with Valluvar's concept of universal brotherhood and oneness of humanity. Unlike Kamasutra, which is all about eros and techniques of sexual fulfillment, the Kural text of Inbam remains a poetic appreciation of flowering human love as explicated by the Sangam period's (a Tamil literary era) concept of intimacy, known as Aham in the Tamil literary tradition.

When I read through the book on Tirukkural authored by dr.Nagaswamy that says essentially that the Tirukkural is based on Vedas, Manu’s Dharmashastra as a code of worldly life and is a translation of vedas into Tamil, my mind retrieved instantaneously a couplet from my memory that formed the second part of Thamizh Thai vaazhthu (TamilNadu State Anthem) authored my Manonmaniam Sundaram Pillai before 127 years (in 1891 CE):
    வள்ளுவர்செய் திருக்குறளை மறுவற நன்கு உணர்ந்தோர்கள்
    உள்ளுவரோ மநுவாதி ஒருகுலத்துக்கு ஒரு நீதி!
Will Those Who Understand Clearly the Core Value System of Thiruvalluvar's Thirukkural
Ever Look at the Inhuman Manu Dharma Justice System espousing and advocating Justice based on Cast!
When Sundaram Pillai wrote the above observation In 1891, no Dravidian chauvinists for separate origins from Vedas in Tirukkural were working. Even the Justice Party was not born then. In the entire Thirukkural, the word "Veda" was not spelt even once.
Manuvadi Dharma system is advocating different justice for different Varnas(Cast or Jathi), essentially an Adharma system of Injustice, which any civilized society will chide away as worst than the erstwhile South African Apartheid system practiced by the White Aryan British origin rulers against the native Black Africans; whereas Thirukkural advocates a Universal Justice System of Equality and Right to Lead a Dignified Life for all Living Beings, not just the human beings alone as shown below in the Thirukkural - 972 under the Chapter 98 on Greatness of Material World Section (Porutpaal)
    பிறப்பொக்கும் எல்லா உயிர்க்கும் சிறப்பொவ்வா
    செய்தொழில் வேற்றுமை யான். - 972
All Living Beings are Born Equals; Distinction
Varies with Diversities in Profession. - 972
The inhuman sanadana manu dharma was never implemented in Tamil land at any point in the history of Tamilnadu. It is to be noted that Dr.Nagaswamy has mentioned in his book on Tirukkural in Chapter 2, pages 30-31, that several royal copper plates of the Pallavas, Cholas, Pandyas and others, show over 15 groups of followers of dharma sastras living in Tamilnadu among the Vedic colonies like Apastamba, . . Sambavya are mentioned among Vedic Brahmanas to whom King Rajendra Chola gifted land and house sites at Puttur, near Tanjore, where over 1000 Vedic Brahmanis were settled; Each of those groups has their own dharma sastras and followed them.
The above admission of Dr.Nagaswamy itself is a clear testimony to the facts that the Vedic Bramanins were imported into Tamilnadu by the Pallavas, Cholas, Pandiyas and others at different time-lines of the History of Tamilnadu and hence they are not natives of Tamilnadu, but were forcefully settled by the monarchs of Tamilnadu. It is very clear that the Kings had gifted the house sites and lands to the Vedic Brahmins through snatching the lands and house sites of the native Tamils; Those Tamilians who lost their land properties and house sites to the Vedic Brahmins, became their agricultural laborers and slaves for their livelihood. Such outsider Vedic Brahmins were trying their best to inject the inhuman apartheid Manuvadi FourVarna Dharma whenever they had a say.
In spite of all their best efforts, the traces of Tamilnadu history shows that the majority of Ministers appointed by Tamil Kings were non-brahmins like Seikkizhaar (the author of Periyapuraanam and the Chief Minister of Anabaya Chola, hailed from a Vellaala community, a cultivating agriculturist family, belong to Sudra, according to Manuvadi Varna System). This was due to the existence of the deep rooted Thirukkural Justice System prevalent all along the time-line of Tamilnadu history. Dr.Nagaswamy, by wishfully trying to map Tirukkural with the incompatible Manu dharma, must go through the following Thirukkural for his own enlightenment.
    கற்க கசடறக் கற்பவை கற்றபின்
    நிற்க அதற்குத் தக.
Learn Thoroughly and flawlessly, what is to be learnt; let conduct be
the testimony on your worthiness of being learned.
Dr.Nagaswamy's conduct of calling people with different view points as 'chavunists', 'ignorant' etc. does not reflect his stature as a renounced epigraphist; rather, it gives a lot of suspicion about his integrity as an epigraphist when he is trying to defend the indefensible Manu Darma System and tries to map the unholy ManuDharma to the Holy Thirukkural. Researchers should double check his findings as an epigraphist before considering them as authentic, as his research intentions are dubious and motivated to establish the Vedic Brahmanic supremacy and incompatible Vedic Sastras with the Universal Justice System of Thirukkural. I fear that, his findings would not be impartial as an epigraphist also and hence have to be approached with doubts and suspicions before citing them as authentic.

Just read his preface to his book "Some Early Sovereigns of Travancore". You will see that the seeds of Aryan Dravidian separatist argument and separation of Tamil from the national literary and cultural stream are well in operation at that time. The entire so-called Indologist discourse of the early 1800's was full of this theory all over the Europe. So you cannot quote his work as unbiased by this discourse which is well and available to him and in fact, patronized by him.

He is devoted to Sanskrit and he is definitely not going to say anything good about Tamil. All the tamil scholars will totally disagree with his observation. There is a big debate about Vedas and it’s time lines. His observations are totally his own creation. He destroyed thirukkural and it’s absolutely not acceptable. He claims that the earliest literature is vedas. There is absolutely no evidence. The second is that he says thirukkural was copied from vedas. There is absolutelly no evidence for that either. If we put a tamil scholar, he will I oppose all his comments. Really sad these guys are trying to take down Tamil and Tamil culture !! He creates his own story. This is how these guys put the Tamils down for centuries. Sad indeed!!

This is the usual claim of the Indian Sanskritists who see Sanskrit in this, that and everything because they want to see it that way. For them, Sanskrit is the fount of ancient Indian wisdom. They conveniently forget the fact that Sanskrit was a late-comer to the ancient Indian literary field when compared to Tamil and the Prakrits of North India. Even its script was borrowed. Continued royal patronage ( due to its self-affiliation to the Hindu religion) enabled Sanskritists to have easy access to the literary works of other Indian languages whereas non-Sanskritists were barred from learning the Sanskrit language. This free access enabled the Sanskritists to copy or translate works from the other languages, hide or destroy the originals and show the imitations as originals. During the ancient times, Sanskritis purposely destroyed thousands of Tamil literature work.
