Thats why I love to race championships in sim/real racing communities. Respect, clean racing, pro level of sportmenship.. Not possible to compare with FIA or daily races at all...

I hate being in the lower Driving Grades. And driving clean and others punting me of the track and only getting a 3sec penalty. So frustrating.
I feel you! Got my back end tapped out in a daily race earlier after making a clean overtake
You're there because you are like them. You can't race clean there's a difference between being fast and being good at racing with others. By you being there shows you don't know how to race with others around you like top S drivers. No offense meant. But let's face it there's two reasons why someone would be in a lobby of SR less than S. First as I just mentioned and second is you don't realize that you just absolutely need to give others ALL the room in the world, absolutely not defend, don't drive close behind or besides, and don't don't get any contact. No matter how fast you are or how far you drop. You need to realize learning to race fast is different to racing with others around. Truth of the matter is if you're B or lower you can't race with other around and expect to rise up unless you start off first and only have the second place to contend with.
Ikr i spend alot of time qualifying just to be sent to the shadow realm the few seconds
Man let me tell you a story: When I first got into GT Sport, I got completely addicted to hotlapping the daily race which was Grp 2. at Fuji (like around March 2020 I think) - and I got pretty decent laps in, so when I started actually doing the race I was always getting top 4 starts. The racing was for the most part fantastic, and I got S SR and B DR in like no time at all.
Then, I had a long break and tried returning this december and going into playing in an unfamiliar track and car combination (grp 3 @ red bull ring) and man. Both my SR and DR completely tanked, I just was completely unable to go through a race without penalties starting so far from the back.
The solution is: Get to hot lapping and qualify towards the front, or you're screwed :D
yeah gran turismo and all racing games tbh should try and fix the penalty systems..

@@Super_GT Yep at the time I thought it was really the wrong strategy, but watching your video I can see I was in clear air lot of the time because of it and probably overachieved with the result a bit!

Though an entirely different game, I loved watching that 2nd Gr 3. race. I main the Lexus in ACC and Nürburgring GP is easily my best track, very interesting comparing your lines and such.

The cutback on the hash brown infield works both ways. You can give up the inside line into the first corner and let the trailing car send it, only to get the cutback on your way out setting up for turn two. For me personally, that's the strategy I prefer. I feel like it's a safer bet knowing turn two is in your favor than defending and giving up turn two.
Absolutely great racing, though. A+
I think keeping the position is the better way. You're typically in more control by being ahead.
