If there's one thing Gran Turismo does better than any other racing game, it's replay footage. The camera angles, fluidity, etc. is just gorgeous.

Really? I guess I don't mind it that much, it does kinda give a cinematic edit sort've feel to the replays. Definitely get rid of the top bar tho and maybe like a transparent bottom bar? That sorta fades out towards the sides? Idk lol
Remove all the black bars on Split-Screen, so annyoing.
Also add KI to it, would be so much more fun, not only racing 1v1.

@@LpAustria The split screen was an after thought. It looks like that probably because split screen is derived from the PSVR mode which also has two viewpoints.
i think the bars are there for technical reasons, so hopefully they’ll be gone for gt7 on better hardware.

Catalunya is a pretty decent track in GT cars, it’s just garbage in F1 because of their downforce levels and dirty air.

I was surprised Boo Boo didn’t get a penalty for that sloppy overtake lap 1, though. Didn’t seem like he gave Steve a full car width and there was definitely some paint trading.

Everytime I watch superGT or BasicOlli and Booboo is in the race, Booboo is always one of the fastest guys and is able to win, but at one point of the race he messes it up and makes a huge mistake which cost him a victory or a decent result
Booboo is forever young. He never learns
That's literally the hardest part of the game. When I got to A/S rank I figured every race would be full of tryhard pros from there on, but in reality at least when it comes to difficult tracks people just make mistakes eventually. This game really teaches you how important patience and knowing when to go for it is in racing. I had several last to second races on A/S rank just because I knew the track so much better than anyone else, which made me able to keep my cool all the time except when it came to defending and attacking, that's where everyone makes mistakes, that's what differentiates the pros from someone like me who plays for fun. I can't even get close on the tracks that I don't know well, let alone compete for a podium without making mistakes. Once you master a track and know how to overtake and defend then you only have to work on your mentality. I got better but I still get an adrenaline rush when I have to dodge wrecks while I'm in a huge group of 5+ cars, knowing that risk managment can get me a podium or ruin my race within the first lap when chaos brakes loose. Even at my best, when it comes to the last corner on the last lap and there's a guy trying hard to defend in front of me, or someone trying hard to attack from behind, that's such an intense moment, we will make contact 2/3 of the time because I'm not going to concede a place and I know how hard I can pressure an opponent into a mistake (because I know the track I like to drive on so well). We probably crash at least 1/5 times and make contact 2/3 times, I've completely bottled it and lost more than 1 place there aswell, it's a lot of fun but also stressful.

@@noah6250 Some of my inspiration might come from there but my knowlege mainly comes from the small amount of personal experience I have and from watching people like David Perel and SuperGT, they really go into the details of their tactics and moves and it made me recognize what I'm lacking compared to those who get consistent great results and end up in the championship. I don't even have enough patience to learn all the tracks in order to compete, but if you just take these lessons with you into your next race it will be easier to recognize what you're doing wrong, where you can improve, what you're doing well, it made me able to recognize how much skill I actually have and I have to admit it's not much, when it comes to car control in streetcars on my hometrack I will whipe the floor with A/S ranked drivers but when I try to compete in a race like this Catalunya event I'll end up far at the back of the pack or ragequit.

Great race, and really great video. Honestly, top notch work on the editing and commentating, it was a real joy to watch. I haven’t played GTS in 8 or 9 months, but your videos got me to pick it back up. Have to say, after that much time off, it’s amazing to come back to a game this old, get full lobbies of drivers relatively equal in pace. I wasn’t sure about Sport to begin with, but they’ve done a great job with the online races.

A couple of years ago I played a lot of Assetto Corsa on a server called rennsimulator (race simulator). I remeber it as most of the races were just as good as the one in the video back then. Especially the ones on Spa.

Really like your videos, Steve. Been watching then one after another. We can learn so much about racing lines on the various tracks on your videos and about attacking and defending your position during the races. Quick question, do you have or recommend any video on the difference on playing with controller and steering wheel? Can't find one that is good enough to show the difference. And those things can get extremely expensive here in Brazil and I don't know anyone who could borrow me one lol!!!

That's crazy because I did this race on the last Nation Cup Round and it was also my best race of 2020 and my first Nations Cup Win. What a coincidence. I also used the Lexus. It has now become one of my favorite Gr.3 cars.
