@@EssxEnergy not sure what point you're trying to make, but it's $26 USD on Out of Darts which makes it a whole $10 more than that here in Canada at $36. The worker scar is $7.50, which is only $11.00 here. It is literally dirt cheap in comparison at less than half the price of a printed alternative. The Flag and Armor printed bcar may be a great value for what it is, but plenty of people won't want to trust a printed option long term, and it's still nowhere close to the price of the worker scar. Why spend close to $30 for a sub 200fps game when a $10 option will be probably good enough?
Can anyone tell me if you absolutely need to change the plunger tube insert to the metal sabre part when you use harrier springs? Will the original parts begin to break if you don’t? Thanks so much.
The metal plunger rod is more of a performance upgrade, it increases the fps a little from having a better seal and heavier weight. I don't think it's really a 100% necessary upgrade.
The only four things that made me choose the unicorn over this for the time being are: non clamshell toolless takedown, unicorn is nylon reinforced with fiberglass so it’s stonger, and the seagull doesn’t come in orange. Which matters because of how plastic yellows with age. Sure you can paint and nylon yellows too but a dye job wears much better and nylon doesn’t get weaker from a dye job the way ABS does. Oh and fourth, I currently have a relatively small play area. It’s not quite like your CQB arena but yeah. Also there’s the cost of entry. The unicorn is what I could afford at this time. I do look forward to reviews of the metal kit that has the metal buffer tube as well but truth be told I’d love a seagull as well. Kinda leaning towards purple. Re painting, there’s also the inevitable problem of having to leave friction areas bare or living with scratches and worn away paint which are a non issue if the base color isn’t prone to yellowing. One thing I’d eventually love to do with a unicorn is dye it black then paint it a street safe color. So if there are scratches they’ll look inoffensive. I suppose the only other reason I’m less excited about the unicorn is deleting the safety and swapping the catch require a a clam shell open which I have my own neurotic reasons for disliking even if the need to do it isn’t frequent. I know the seagull mag will be released in different colors soon. Hoping for smoked transparent
Excellent review. Thank you for the detailed comparison with the Harrier. Question is how does it compare with the Trion? Trion can use the same spring as the Harrier and now the Seagull
Very good video. Thank you so much. All the tests were conducted without the hole unplugged in the plunger tube right? Milo from Milo’s Mods found a hole int the plunger tube and after he plugged it the fps went up 20-30
Some people reviewed frontline foam and said that the print quality was poor. So is the accuracy for the first mag at 20:21 just poor build quality or am I just paranoid. I understand that there can be other factors like the distance, where you're aiming and the wind stuff like that but has anyone bought a spring powered rifle from frontline foam and it be good print/build quality?
I personally cant pick I've already got a harrier and will definently be picking up a seagull when blastertech stock it. thanks I really enjoyed this review
I just picked up a Seagull of my own, but tested with the 1.6×250 spring with Normal Red Gen3s. With both barrel options, I actually saw an std of less than 5fps. Which I wasn't expecting compared to most results I've seen online, especially looking at the results from blastertime. (I did no relubing or use any metal parts)
@chrismonsen At 70ft I'm able to hit a 5x5in target in my backyard with the shortest barrel and Worker scar, I'm not hitting as consistently as with let's say my Lynx, but it is serviceable
I mean they're very different blasters. If your group's fps cap is more than 200, then the Seagull is the only choice, but under that threshhold, they're very different. The Unicorn is MUCH smaller than the Seagull due to the design and more modular, plus has the top prime gimmick if you want that (or set it up for both like mine). Slam-fire doesn't seem like a huge deal for a lot of people but if you want it the Seagull doesn't have it. The Unicorn also has the pin takedown system which makes some parts of maintenance and upgrades much faster and easier. On the other hand, if you're running at higher fps or swap fps often then the Seagull is probably the better option and has more cross-compatibility with commonly used parts and springs since the Harrier and similar blasters are so popular. I think the comparisons between these blasters are a bit silly because they clearly seem to be for different people and not quite direct competitors other than just being small springers.
Would you consider making a video of different barring scar angles performance at different FPS? I'm new to the hobby and want to be sure that I'm investing in the optimal gear for my club limit.
