Some really epic action mixed with some strange other things made for a weird yet entertaining film! I always hated Data's death. Back in Best of Both Worlds, Data and Worf went and retrieved Picard from the Borg cube. In First Contact, Picard saved Data from the Borg cube. The writers of First Contact wrote it as if the payoff of some kind of life debt. That having been already settled, I never understood why the writers of this movie chose to make Data sacrifice himself.
Admiral Janeway, who contacted Picard to send him to Romulus, was the captain in the tv series Star Trek Voyager. Great cameo in this movie.
Voyager had some really solid episodes. I still recall the episode where the Doctor believed someone was messing with his memory, and they were. Juicy stuff.
There was supposed to be a part 2. With ds9. Vog, and tng together...but this movie flopped so

Second Chances is a great TNG episode.

@@miller-joel that depends on how you’d define the word clone. It can simply mean to make an exact copy - which is what was in that episode. But that may differ from the idea of human cloning as we understand it now.
The fact that the director thought it was necessary to digitally alter Worf's voice to make him sound more "alien" is I think one of the more egregious signs that he had no idea what he was doing making this movie. If there's one thing anyone can say about this movie, it is definitely one of the movies of all time.

During the Riker Vs Reman in the service corridor sequence, as he was kicking him off to fall to his doom, Riker should've shouted, "I...have had....enough of YOU!"
True story: he does have a line that they cut. My family got me a copy of the shooting script as a gift one year and I was surprised to see it. Something like, “Don’t worry. It’s dark in hell.” But they felt it was not a “Riker” thing to say and cut it.
Still trying to figure out what the pitch black abyss chamber on the Enterprise is all about.

@@Helbore Yeah the Remans beamed onto deck 29 and Viceroy whatever his name was slid down the Jeffreys tube at one deck below. After that, Riker hit him in the face so hard, he landed back on deck 78 on the Enterprise-A from Star Trek V.

At 2:51, it sounds like Jerry Goldsmith is quoting his own score from 1984’s Supergirl film.

The music played at the Shinzon's dagger scene on the fighting is very similar to 'Escape from The Planet Of The Apes' theme from Jerry Golsdmith.
You can tell Ollie hasn’t watched any Voyager as he must be the first person to react to this movie and not even blink when Admiral Janeway shows up.
When this film first came out, I was a trader at the Comic con in London. Tom Hardy was there at a table, but no-one knew who he was.
There was NO ONE in his queue.
I recall he was sat there looking a bit lost.
Poor Tom. I think this was his second film?

@@kirishima638 As far as I know, he only had a small role in _Black Hawn Down_ before this, as well as a smaller in _Band of Brothers._ _Nemesis_ was the first time he got more to do and, honestly, he made for a pretty damn solid Villain. But he kinda dropped off the radar for a few years afterwards... at least for me. The next time I really recognized him was _Inception_ in 2010.

Picard Season 1 follows up on aspects of this movie and how Data's death affected Picard.
I like this one actually. It's not the best obviously but I had more issue with Insurrection. There are some deleted scenes I believe which they should not have cut (for time if i'm not mistaken) which make the story more cohesive. I also think Tom Hardy's is fine as the villain.
I liked this movie too. I say, if anyone ever uses the words "hated this movie". They are not true Star Trek fans. I love everything about Star Trek, including the Animated show. I Love Star Trek ! Everyone should.
Two things. Betazoid tradition is you take the woman's last name, so Riker would be a Troi. Second is there is a episode about Troi getting married, it was arranged and didnt work out, but in a Betazoid wedding all attendees are nude.

I love the Argo chase scene. The bleached film, the unexpected conflict at the end of a moment of mystery, the "no foreseeable danger" backfire, lol. I like this movie a lot..
Nemesis is definitely underrated. One of the best final battles. Really fun movie. Not the best Star Trek movie by any means, but still decent.
This movie showed just how much of a beast the Enterprise E was. It literally was outgunned 3 to 1 and fought the scimitar to a draw. The sovereign class truly was the pinnacle of starfleets military mind engineering.
I saw this film again after about a decade of its release and it was far better than I remembered.
I think one of the reasons why Nemesis is so poorly remembered and received has to do with the general Star Trek fatigue that was in place at the time in both the actors and the public. There'd been non-stop TNG era Star Trek from 1987 to this point in 2002 when Nemesis came out and this was the first year of Star Trek Enterprise which was not being well received and was following up to Voyager whose overall series run had left some feeling 'mixed' at the time. Coupled with this film releasing in December and going up against Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, little marketing to push the film and a huge gap in releases between Insurrection and Nemesis and I think the film was just set up to be a failure and that's not even getting into some of the behind the scenes issues with the director. With the distance of time, looking at in hindsight and fresh or refreshed eyes...it's honestly not -that- ba and didn't deserve the absolute blasting and hate that it got. I think different circumstances would have saved the films reputation and folk wouldn't see it quite as poorly as they do.
I don't think that Paramount had much faith in the film. The release date was a huge mistake. It should've probably been released the following Spring or even Summer. Paramount had to know what it would be up against. Nobody was going to see the tenth Trek movie when they could watch a new Potter or LOTR movie. This just got lost in the shuffle.
Only speaking for myself but I did not suffer from ST-Fatigue at the time. I kept up with _Enterprise,_ sometimes staying up very late to watch the latest Episode (Season 3 had me *hooked,* I don't think I missed a single Episode of the Xindi-Arc), watched re-runs of the older Series and I watched _Nemesis_ twice on the big screen. I fully admit that neither _Enterprise_ nor _Nemesis_ were flawless, neither was on the level the Franchise was only a few years prior (DS9s latter Seasons, and _First Contact)_ but I still enjoyed them a great deal and still do. I was saddened by the cancellation of _Enterprise,_ just as the Series finally found its footing and I would have gladly watched more seasons and a fifth TNG-Movie. In any case, I had more fun with the Franchise then than I do now _(Lower Decks_ aside).
I think the last thing you can say about ST 90s fans is that they were fatigue, Voyager, Enterprise and Nemesis were simply not in the same level of TOS, TNG and DS9, I think the problem with this movie is simply that it isn't interesting, it's a compilation of checklist scenes wrapped in a big "The Wrath of Khan" wannabe plot, even to a point where Data aka "TNG Spock" dies in the end to save someone else, the movie is bleak, dark, slow and just not well written.

This and The Final Frontier, are irredeemable trash. Imagine the conversation Romulans had when they decide to clone Picard:
Romulan 1: Okay, we can finally clone humans. Who should we clone?
Romulan 2: Captain Picard.
Romulan 1: ...Why?
Romulan 2: Because he's commands the flagship of The Federation.
Romulan 1: ...Of one ship.
Romulan 2: What?
Romulan 1: Look, why not clone the President Of The Federation? What do we get with a clone of one captain?
Romulan 2: Here is my plan! (writes "Step One: Clone Picard. Step Two: ??? Step Three: Profit." on the white board)
Romulan 1: That doesn't make any sense. I will make you your Picard Clone and we'll choose other targets.
Romulan 1: (some time later) Okay, the Picard Clone wasn't all that successful. Maybe-
Romulan 2: Nope! Scrap the program.
Romulan 1: But!
Romulan 2: And dump the clone in the mines with our conquered slave race instead of killing it, we must absolutely regret our choices now for later plot convinces!
This movie is super stupid. They also killed off Data for B4. I mean, what was the point in THAT?
Fun Fact: Sir Patrick Stewart was paid nearly as much for this film as he made in the entire run of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987).
Bane Interrupted Fact: In an interview given years after this film came out, Tom Hardy said that he took the role very seriously, as it was intended to be his big break. The commercial failure of the film, and the response from long-time fans, apparently led to his relationship dissolving, his turning to alcohol, and considering suicide. It was only when he pulled himself together and starred in Bronson (2008) that he got over this film. Never blame actors, ONLY THE FILMMAKERS.
Hollywood Hacks Fact: The cast, in particular Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis and LeVar Burton, have leveled fierce criticism at Stuart Baird over his direction of this film, claiming he hated the Star Trek universe, and knew nothing about it. Frakes even called the film a huge disappointment. For his part, Baird expresses his frustration in the Blu-ray commentary at having to tell a story in an established universe with pre-existing design and character relationships, hated having to utilize recycled sets and props, and had trouble remembering the names of the main cast. It has now become standard operating procedure for studios to hire people who HATE Star Terk to make the shows and movies. I strongly suggest going no further.
Lmao! Thank you! Someone who isn’t going to sugarcoat how bad this movie is, complete with skit & all! Personally, I hated this movie because of all the bad story decisions and I had had enough by the time the end battle happened (which I found to be a poor attempt at copying Wrath of Khan’s impact). And this was the last movie. Talk about going out with a whimper. I would’ve had more fun watching the Enterprise & crew chase down Janeway after she goes rogue for whatever contrived reason lol! Instead, we got a miscast (and unknown at the time) Tom Hardy as a weak ass clone?! And why the F is he bald (?!?!) other than for the audiences’ sake!!! Ugh!

@@BigGator5 The bald thing to me was the ultimate representation of how no one on this movie gave a crap. They all figured, let’s just put whatever out there and make sure to have a space battle at the end, and preferably one that mimics Wrath of Khan and that should cover all our bases. Horrible! And yeah, like I said, the bald thing was done for the audience’s sake so that we can “buy” Tom Hardy as a clone of Patrick “Bald” Stewart. But if this were a real scenario, he would have hair, unless Picard was bald at age 20 which obviously wasn’t the case because we saw plenty of his thick ass hair during all those Academy flashbacks. 😂
Stuart Baird directed Star Trek Nemesis(2002). He was the editor on Superman the Movie(1978).
This is actually my favorite and I have watched EVERY SINGLE SEASON OF TNG.

I saw this in theaters, first Trek movie I saw that early, and I enjoyed it. I don't understand the hate. A strange villain, but a great one. And Troi crashes the ship again.
I hope for TOS, you be sure to include “The Naked Time.” It showcases the Kirk-Spock relationship better than any other episode. Plus, the supporting cast get to do a lot more than usual.

Agree with you 100% on your assessment of this film. Yeah, it has a lot of problems, - the car chase stuff is weird and ugly, and Shinzon is not a very good villain despite Tom Hardy, but there is a lot of good stuff too, especially the final act, which has one of the finest space battles in all of Star Trek cinema. I enjoyed it a great deal, and by no means did it outrage me when I saw it in the theater upon its first release. However, my ex-wife was really angered by Data's death, which I think is a big reason why a lot of fans hate this movie. Either they didn't want Data to die at all, or they didn't like the way it was done. He sacrificed himself for Picard and the Enterprise, and I think that's a pretty good way to go out.
If felt open-ended because they had planned another movie after. Written by John Logan and Brent Spiner. The plan had been to do a crossover movie with all of the major villains coming back and a team up of all the Star Trek Captians and alittle time travel to bring back Data.

@HighStimulation there has been some chatter in the past even recently about a big crossover movie with the prime timeline and the kelvinverse. including Discovery TNG DS9 ENT VOY. We will see if that ever happens
Diana comes into her own in episodes featuring her exentric mother, Lwaxana Troi and also episodes with holo-adict Charles Barklay played by Dwite Shults.
Shinzon is an interesting 'bad guy'. Although he's yet another "Guy who seems like a 'good guy' who turns out to be a VERY 'BAD GUY'!"-kind of enemy, for a few moments, he SEEMS EPICALLY GOOD- his clothing is EPIC in some kind of Prince-style Musician inspired thing. lol. When he sat with Picard- Shinzon came off as actually a pretty nice guy, with a horrible past.

I've seriously loved your Star Trek series more than anything else :) I genuinely think that based on the parts of Next Gen. you've responded most to that you'd get a lot of enjoyment (and great content!) by using your previous strategy and watching some story-critical, fan favourite episodes of Voyager to get up to date on the Seven of Nine and borg storylines and diving into Picard from season 1. It has all the parts you've loved - great effects and action, deeper dives into Picard, Guinan, Data, and Q... it's a multi-episode movie really! And because you're NOT a "day 1 Next Generation" die-hard, you aren't going to get annoying by the silly things my fellow OG TNG'ers occasionally like to gripe about :P You'd gain at least 1 patreon sub on the journey!

I liked this movie, the Romulan Warbirds are incredible...the Data question is addressed in the first season of "Picard" but I won't spoil anything for you in case you decide to watch it
I still enjoyed this movie. It wasn't nearly as good as I hoped it would be but, still a fun watch. Also finally seeing Deanna and Will get married after waiting forever for that to happen was great.
At 23:24, the actor playing the Romulan commander who comes to Picard’s assistance is Dina Meyer. She played a live-action Batgirl & Oracle in the Birds of Prey television series. She was also in Starship Troopers.
She was great in the Birds Of Prey series - excellent and underrated show
The admiral you saw in this is Janeway. She was captain of Voyager. That is my favorite Star Trek series out of all of them.
It really was a great series with a wonderful cast, some incredible stories and a lot of heart. It wasn't my favorite but I love the series a great deal.
Data's death here and especially Deanna's reaction, was the first time I ever cried watching a movie/TV.
The song B-4 was mumbling was the same song that Data sang at the start of the movie at the wedding.

People said they didn't like the movie because they couldn't tell you Data dies. I understand his death though the most human action he could perform was self sacrifice for another, but that doesn't mean fans have to like it. The B4 becoming a flawed data2.0 never was explored in more movies so Data was destroyed in an average movie and that pissed people off.

I actually liked this film better than Insurrection, out of the first 10 films; Insurrection is dead last in my view. Nemesis is not bad, has a lot of slow points in the film that can drag it, but the ship battle in the end I truly enjoyed.
There is a fun theory about Shinzons creation involving a former TNG character that, had they included it, would have made this an epic-level movie. You should look it up!
I enjoyed this one! I mean yeah, it pales in comparison to First Contact (my favourite of the TNG era movies) but it's still a fine TNG movie! I think poor Tom Hardy (shinzon) suffered quite a bit following the release of this, but he's recovered a lot now.
Hey. Great job. That was both a fair and generous review. One’s opinion of a movie or TV show is supposed to be subjective, so it’s okay to like something that other people did not. As a Star Trek fan, I sincerely tried to enjoy this movie but, alas, I was truly disappointed. Thank goodness they are going to give this cast the respectful sendoff that it deserves when they all reunite in the last season of Picard. I look forward to your future reviews. Peace.
Re 44:55, there are plenty of TNG episodes that focus on some of the other characters. That’s the beauty of an ensemble show lasting 178 episodes. Every character gets a couple of focused episodes each season... you just haven’t seen them yet.
For example, Troi-centric episodes include Haven, Ménage a Troi, The Loss, The Child, Dark Path, etc
Beverly-focused episodes include The High Ground, Remember Me, Sub Rosa, Suspicions, Ethics, and The Host.
Both characters also get multi-episode arcs focusing on their careers (Troi’s promotion from Lt Cmdr to Commander and Crusher’s bridge officer training.)
Oh, no, not "Sub Rosa"! (Well, you didn't specify that they were necessarily _good_ episodes...!) I'd also mention the episode "Attached" (Episode 708), which is a Picard-Crusher episode.
You should react to the 3rd season of the show “Picard”. It’s basically a reunion movie of the TNG cast along with some other call backs from Star Trek shows and movies. The music is phenomenal and a mix of Goldsmith and Horner. You don’t need to watch season 1 or 2 other than read a synopsis of season 1. It’s pretty much a stand-alone season that acts as the final movie in the series of TNG movies. It’s very good and your would absolutely enjoy it!
The events at the end of this film tie in directly with Season 1 of Picard in a most profound way, along with the episodes "The Measure of a Man" and "The Offspring".
Director Stuart Baird also did the very suspenseful hijacking film Executive Decision, starring Kurt Russell, Steven Seagal, Halle Berry.
I met Marina Sirtis at the Philly Comic-Con a number of years ago. She's a very friendly woman. Not very tall but incredibly beautiful.
The Remans are a reference the orignal series that named the Romulan home worlds as Romulus and Remus.
This story did have a clever little nod to the series, and you included the clip in your video. It's the scene where Data places Diana in command, but only after getting Geordi off of the ship. In the series, Diana kept flunking her officer course because she would not send Geordi on a mission that would likely mean his death.
I never noticed that scene. You sure it’s a nod to that episode though? It sounds like it may have been a coincidence.

This movie has the opposite problem of Generations. Whereas that movie felt like it was trying to be smarter than it was, this movie was trying to be more of a hypercharged action movie than it should be (the dune buggy chase being the most obvious example). If the movie wasn't so busy trying to get to the next action set piece, there's actually a really interesting story in there somewhere. A race of 2nd class citizens in the Romulan Empire fighting for their Independence. Yes, they present a threat to the security of the Federation, but they're also people struggling for freedom against their long-time oppressors. Does the Federation side with the oppressors (against their moral code) in order to ensure their own security, or do they side with the oppressed and risk destabilizing the entire Romulan Empire? There are certainly a lot of parallels that could be drawn from the history of US foreign policy. There's also a nice idea of nature vs nurture with Data/B4 and Picard/Shinzon that is touched on, but not really explored. It just feels like this is the laziest, dumbest version of this setup that you could do. For a franchise that I adore for its ability to make me think while also entertaining the Hell out of me, it's very disappointing to see them drop the ball to this degree.
The visuals are great, the soundtrack is great, and you still get some nice moments with these characters (seeing Data pontificate about the nature of humanity/individuality with Picard really drove home just how much he's grown as a sentient being); but overall, it was not the finale I was hoping we'd get for my favorite crew in Star Trek.
Still better than Insurrection though.
As a teenage Star Trek fan in 2003, this felt like half of a return to the quality of First Contact at the time, the set pieces and action had more weight to them and there was some world building and I liked this movie decently when it came out, it felt like what Star Trek needed to do at the time. I've since realized it was meddled with too much by people who didn't know or like Star Trek, making it more generic in the sci-fi/action space. But it's still not that bad and it holds up better as a movie and a story than any of the contemporary Star Wars prequels, or any of the reboot Star Treks IMO. Compared to all the success those movies got, this movie could even be considered underrated!

I actually don't hate this movie and consider it really good, especially the space battles. Where the movie falls down is behind the scenes. The director was normally an editor for movies, so he didn't have quite as much experience directing. Also, he didn't know anything about Star Trek, despite all the actors constantly trying to help him out. He just didn't care and actually managed to butt heads with a lot of people. The whole B4 aspect totally ignores the fact that Data already had a twin brother, called Lore, who'd been a recurring foe in TNG. Thankfully, the show "Star Trek Picard" later retconned a lot of elements, like Data surviving through B4. Definitely check that show out. Don't listen to the haters in the fandom (which there are a LOT of, when it comes to the newer Trek shows!). While the show has its flaws, it's nowhere near as bad as people make out and actually gets very nostalgic for Trekkies like me who've been around since TNG started. Season 3 is even meant to be a complete TNG reunion.
Every time I watch this movie I wait for a moment to happen where I realize why everyone is right when they say the movie is terrible. Each time, however, I’m sucked in and enjoy it from start to finish. 🤷🏻♂️

The "over exposure" on that planet was because of the light from it's sun. On that planet that is what it would actually look like to us.
I would have picked green for Nemesis, because of the Thalaron and the Romulan theme being green all the way. :)
I like this one. If I were to make a complaint it would be that star trek has used the evil twin trope countless times going back to TOS. But if I didn't know that I would have no negative thoughts about it

I never interpreted this movie as anything other than the Next Generation cast, knowing full well that their show surpassed the original in every way, only had one thing over their heads from TOS. The wrath of khan. This movie was basically a remake of that film. From trying to recreate a thrilling villain, to a desperate space battle, down to the death of their "spock". It didn't work then, and it does't work now. Though I do love me some Next Generation crew. Still, it gave me two things that I always wanted to see in a Star Trek battle. An honest to goodness Bridge hit with decompression, and a ship ramming another ship in desperation. Of course, I never thought that ship would be the Enterprise on both counts, but whatever.
Should check out the deleted scenes, there is one that's set on the bridge before or just after Riker speaks to Picard in his ready room to disembark that's worth looking for.
In TOS the most universally loved episode is City on the Edge of Forever. I’d start with that.
I never recommend that -- I always say build up to it if you're new to the series.
i too enjoyed the movie, but there were two main problems for me...both ships had no shields, and the Enterprise took out the hangar bay on the Scimitar...however...the hangar bay on the Enterprise is on the back side of the ship, and was completely unharmed...as we know, the shuttlecraft are equipped with their own weapons systems, and fully independent transporters... Data did not need to die
Admiral Janeway who sent Picard to Romulus was captain of the crew in Star Trek: Voyager so it was a nice cameo for fans of that series.

It's not the best TNG movie but I really don't see how the movie is all that bad. Yes, not perfect, but it's a good movie. Glad to see that you were entertained by it too.

This movie isn't nearly as bad as everyone says or thinks. I saw it opening night in the theater with my stepsister. It was the first Star Trek movie she had watched and she teared up. There were not many dry eyes in that theater and it was sold out. There are several criticisms about the movie, sure. But to be honest I kind of look at criticism with media like the DSM V...... if a person comes across media that is perfect then maybe it's really fucked up. Nothing is perfect, but it doesn't or shouldn't mean people should be able to enjoy it any more or any less than anyone else. There are numerous direct theories (all conjecture) that tie in directly to Star Trek Picard from this movie alone. Whether people like Picard or not, I don't really care, to each their own. The point is, when I was a little younger everyone wasn't some type of film critic or movie expert. We enjoyed things or didn't for whatever reason. That's the point. Analyzing everything to death destroys the experience (to me at least) and if that is the point of why you watch movies then my advice would be to maybe pick up a hobby like painting or chess. It's entertainment. To that I'll say, if you want to analyze it to death then feel free, it's your experience. Just seems sad to me a person will never truly be able to enjoy media like this because those type of folks go in to this type of media, amd television shows as well, immediately knowing and expecting There to be a flaw in it. It's just a little sad to me because it takes away from the experience and the purpose of entertainment. 🤷♂️
I'm glad you enjoyed this. And I agree with where you fit it. It has flaws. Flaws don't equal bad. And a lot of what this film did eventually set up Picard season 1.
I really think that not featuring Tarsha Yar's daughter, Sela was a missed opportunity, seeing as how the Romulans were featured so prominently in the plot.
Definitely rewatch the new Star Trek movies now that you have all this new context. I think you’ll really enjoy them even more than you already have.

It's hard to spot him, since the scene specifically featuring him talking about his new post was deleted, but Wesley is in his Starfleet dress uniform sitting at the wedding table.
Star Trek: Picard 20 years later aside, this was an ending because Riker and Troi were leaving for the Titan (as was Lt. Wesley Crusher), Data was gone, and Worf was only visiting for the wedding.
This was the film that killed Stuart Baird's directing career. He's never directed another movie.

I think seeing the entire TV series first makes this movie seem worse. Its a different beast. Like comparing a good book to a not wholy bad action movie. Fans were used to 7 years and hundreds of stories that were more in depth and thoughtful. More inspiring on what is life and morality.
This movie was more like- check your brain at the door, grab a beer and enjoy some action with characters you like.
I think fans dislike is less on what it is, but what it could have been.
tho Data's death sucked. it was cheap writing. a Cheap attempt get the audience to react instead of doing the work of a well thought out story arc.

Anyway... it’s fun to watch you geek out over Star Trek. I’ve loved it since I was 4 (in 1975). I actually used to draw the bridge control panels, a view screen, and a transporter control panel with crayons. I would make a mini bridge set in my attic and spend hours playing Star Trek. Then when the first movie came out, I was almost as stunned by the “new” enterprise as I was the first time I saw Star Wars in 1977. I had just turned 7. Darth Vader in that first scene scared the crap out of me. He was... inevitable. The best villain of all time. ST the motion picture had even better graphics and model work in my opinion. It was stunning watching a tiny enterprise fly down the axis of the Vger ship. And even as a 9 year old boy, I did not think the Star ship porn in that first movie was too much. I actually couldn’t get enough of it. I could have watched that “fly by” sequence for hours and not gotten bored. I studied that ship as much as I could during that scene and tried to figure out the function of everything on that screen. Some of the hero shots of Enterprise E in the three movies it was in reminded me a little of that. Beautiful shots. No, Nemesis was not a great movie. It was ok, but those hero shots are gorgeous and that battle sequence was epic. That’s how you try to sniff out a cloaked ship. Kirk didn’t show that level of ingenuity in ST VI. Not even in the book version of that story. And I’ve always thought of Kirk as the better tactician in combat over Picard. I know their characters are limited by the military knowledge and imagination of the writers, but that’s what fleshes out a character.
If you want a finale for all the characters, you need to watch Star Trek: Picard, but to understand one character you should watch some season 4 through season 7 episodes of Star Trek: Voyager so you can see the origin of a Borg character named Seven of Nine played by Jeri Ryan. She is a great character and was so deserving getting a role on Picard seeing that she was part of the Voyager crew from season 4 until season 7.
Watch Picard. 4:34 “ how much of a finale will it be for these characters?” Watch Picard. Make your own determination on if it’s good or not. Your opinions won’t be clouded by 20 years of expectations.

Yeah that car chase felt like a scene from a later Star Trek movie with little Jimmy Kirk blasting Beastie Boys while sending his dead Daddy's car that his uncle co-opted over a cliff. JUST AS BAD!!!
Stuart Baird, who directed admitted he had never seen an episode of TNG. I heard Marina Sirtis bumped heads with him, and he almost got her off the set.

Of all the TNG movies, Nemesis angered me the most because of all the reasons you stated and is still my least favorite Trek film.
However, I do admire it for taking some big risks with its characters/story/action sequences, especially when compared to Insurrection.

I'm just going to be honest in saying that even the worst Trek films I would happily watch. Not saying they're great, but I've seen much, much worse, and I still enjoy seeing the characters romping around the galaxy. So happy you finished all of the films. Thank you.
