Awesome job, you deserve more subscribers but then again I don't know how long you've been at it because don't get me wrong 345k is amazing! Keep up the great work man!
I currently flip PCS as a side hustle and here are some of my tips -price fairly, but know what you have. People are willing to pay a premium if it means someone who knows what they're talking about have made sure it's capable of doing everything and functional. My price is a static $40 on top of parts. I may charge more if a part was particularly hard to find. Don't let yourself get undercut either. -presentation is everything. Good pictures, clean the PC and the background. I throw in a speccy screen cap and r6s benchmarks at the end too. I wouldn't be buying systems from someone with garbage all over their house. The way you speak to people helps alot as well. If someone's asking alot of questions then answer them to the best of your ability. Even if they have no intention of buying, humor them. That makes you look better and in the case of Facebook marketplace you actually get badges for maintaining good standards. This will allow you to be a 5 star seller on there(which as of writing, I am with a perfect record and several badges.) -the meetup is the most important part. If they're coming to your home to view the system, be polite and professional, and make sure your house isn't a pigsty. I tend to clean up my bedroom when I know someone is coming to look at a system. Shake their hand(maybe not right now) answer their questions, show them it works, and do business. If I meet up with someone I take necessary precautions to protect myself, like meeting near a busy street or a police station, and concealed carrying. Don't know if teens can do that last one lol.
I've been a follower for over a year or so and I really like what and how U R doing it. I very much appreciate your honesty, which is very rare and hard to find nowadays. The knowledge you mastered by your self is a respectful thing. Some 10+ years ago I've tried the similar thing in my county (Serbia) - buying cheap, used, non-working PCs and trying to give them new life with some improved performance. Unfortunately, many people did the same stuff and since I wasn't the best seller either, so I quited after some time.
I am aware that this video is two years old, but it made me feel better about myself because I had genuinely been depressed after watching so many videos of people making unrealistic gains from selling PCs. I thought my $40 per PC profit, which I make on a good day and only sell one PC per month on average (I have school so I don't have the time), was fine for a 15-year-old until I saw the people who make $500 per PC, lol. Great knowledge, you completely changed my perspective.
It's amazing hearing your story. I absolutely love your channel and to hear about your experiences with selling PCs to being a local salesman and eventually TH-cam is amazing to share with us. Thank you :)

It is so nice that you opened yourself on these things. I've always wondered what it's like to sell a pc from let's say your perspective rather than a big company. Really love the honesty ! Take care mate, stay safe ! God bless
This story (that I quite enjoyed) is currently what I am doing in Australia. I wasn't getting responses from jobs I have applied for so I decided to take the matter into my own hands and flip PCs (which is unfortunate because Tech Yes City is in my neighborhood). I got one computer for free from a giveaway in the rubbish and then got an HDD for free that I chucked it into the PC and then sold that. The man that I sold that PC to gave me 2 'broken' PCs that I fixed and then sold. I built my first gaming pc with an HD 6970 and FX 6100 that helped me make my future builds. Loving your content!
Your story is very similar to mine but I'm pushing 40. I had a stint last year where I bought and sold some laptops but honestly after seller fees and paying for couriers I probably broke even or made losses on some. Plus it was a pain in the arse setting up couriers to collect from the house and having to wait in sometimes. I pretty much gave that up but do still sell components if I have them. I did however go on to do I.T. support which I've done in varying capacities since then, and ironically was going to launch as self-employed just before this virus hit and put a spanner in the works. Like you I've never had any formal education or training except for a basic I.T. course. It's just now that after using and learning about computers for over 20 years I feel confident enough to sell my knowledge and skills, which people have gladly paid for. By the way, don't put yourself down because of what you don't know... there's not a single man on this planet who knows all there is to know about computers.
Thanks for the video! You along with Tech Yes City have taught me a ton about PCs and how to sell them. I'm a teenager and I've started selling used PCs, and so far it's been very profitable. I work full time during the summer but with school coming up I'm hoping to focus more on selling PCs as a consistent source of income, and I've even found a supplier locally to help with my endeavours !

@Ali Samin I am pretty sure a boy smart enough to stay at school on 30 quid a week , learn to build pc's etc then advertise himself as pc shop/ a pc repair man took the trouble. The tax man generally can only go back 7 years ExCEPT in serious 'omission' cases , but as bugger all tax is involved they would not be interested. I would say half the traders on feebay are not registered, its a 2nd job and there simply isnt that many tax inspectors. I used to share a rented house with a guy who repaired electronic keyboards etc once, he declared 10k a year.(about right, maybe 12k today) The taxman actually turned up at the door to have a word. It was a he,btw. He said the (London rented) house was not sustainable on (12k) and when ALL 3 of us showed him receipts for the rent account , and he took in the diy sponge splat painting deycore and crt tv etc, he apologised profusely and buggered off. So they do check when you are living beyond what you declare. In the 80's boom the tax man used to sit on motorway fly overs and look up the number plates of 80k+ porsches etc, thats the way to get results that pay, not pestering nobodies on feebay.
Fantastic video fella 👍 I've always had an interest in technology/PC's but never really give it much thought. Since this lockdown down I've become obsessed with building a pc as my previous one was 12 years old and way past it's sell by date. Bitten the bullet today and ordered a load of goodies. My first build, very excited and it's channels like this that really spur me on. Thank you.
the expression is "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves". this was coined by Frank Winfield Woolworth in the '20s and is in bedded in the Woolworth buildings architecture the building is in new york city USA.
I love this story and it makes me even more connected to the channel, HOWEVER. Everything changes, and most areas are different. kinda like how you said with how games change. But yes, it also depends on your area of where you sell. Where I sell, I have competition, but the pictures are horrendous, and the specifications are bad for the price they want. And whoever DOES take good pictures, are missing out on one thing that I do: art on my cases. Just some simple art like stencil work, even down to great cable management, is also another great way to get people's wallets open to you. And you also just feel better and accomplished by seeing that art work on the computer, because nobody else does it, nor (again, in my area) gives a crap that much about what they post!
trickster 876 what art do you find people like? I’ve always found it cringe (no offence ) but then again I don’t like LED/RGB lights and the lord only knows how many I’ve sold with an RGB case :P
I love your videos man, I somehow relate to you more than any other youtuber, even though I haven't built a single PC in my life(due to money issues). You just inspire me to build a pc and I am trying my best towards it. Again love you man ❤️
I am currently 15 and due to the Covid-19 I am not a school originally I was planning to get a summer job however that cannot be the case and therefore I have decided to start building pc and selling for a small profit. Thanks for inspiring me.
Interesting watch to see how your knowledge and expertise has build up from an amateur over the years. Only been into pc gaming about a year and been watching your videos most of that time. always helpful keep up the great content buddy
I've been building and selling budget gaming PC's for a while now and what you said about the case and RGB is so true. I've built some really great machines but put them in a lot less flashy cases and have ended up having to sell them for very little profit or having to pull them altogether and rework them, but have some tempered glass or mesh on the front with some RGB fans and the PC will sell, regardless of what is inside. It's shit really but it's the best advice I'd have for someone starting out. Lots of flashy lights, lots of pictures, and "plays Warzone at 60FPS+", seems to do the trick in most cases.
I started a business on computers XD thanks to you, I watched so many of your videos and you inspired me to sell used pc parts while still being a student
Love your videos! Ive been watching since 100k subscribers. love that its been building so much. Keep up the awesome videos! P.S. Build a windows 98 beast!!!
I was quite surprised to hear you get EMA as well! I built my first PC when I was 10 or 11 years old after watching quite a lot of Carey Holzman's videos and basically took every opportunity I could get to build or mess with a PC, come last year I started selling computers and all I can say is, it is certainly profitable enough to keep my happy for a little while but I don't think I could really live off it, I don't have any outgoing expenses so it's a fun way to kill the time when I am not in college or something along those lines. Times like right now are where I am glad I do not need to rely on PC sales at all as I can barely get any parts at decent prices, I have managed but it is not as easy as it was even a few months ago, it's all "fun money" for now, i assume I will keep at it until I can get a "real job"
I've been doing this for more than 5 years now, and in my country, all of what you said is true. From the fact that sell a lot of, cheaper, to RGB case selling well. I really like doing this and I got really lucky sometimes... (Today, I got an Alienware Aurora R5, i7 3930k, 16gb, sli GTX 680, SSD... for 80€) That's helpful. I'm also really interested into making my own repair shop, but for now, programation is, I think, the best way to go when it comes to professionals things.
Great Vid, great story Logan. Started getting into PCs when the first Bitcoin craze hit the RX290s hard and drove up the price to $900. Got an FX8350 and two RX270-4GBs at the time.
A guy once rejected my RED & Black $700 gaming PC with an Ryzen 1400 & GTX 970 for a full size tower with RGB and a oem board and i3 6300 and an GTX 1080 mini cuz he said it was a better gaming PC for $1000. All I could say how unbalanced it was. And it's his choice 🤦
In my limited experience building and selling computers locally, I've found that lower end (and cheaper) gaming PC's sell much better than high end ones.
I've been watching you since about 30k and I still do! Sure, I may not watch every second of every single vid, I still love the channel. Something, including videos, catching my attention for more than 5 to 10 minutes (strong ADHD) is kinda rare, aka you're doing an excellent job in your usual vids. I'll probably still not watch this realtalk vid at once. Edit: great one, really interesting
just realised how early i watched this i learned alot of stuff im going to definetiely apply for ena and youre my favourite tech youtube you got me into this thanks alot man.
Facebook marketplace has served me well the past 4 years - no fees unlike eBay. Gaming pcs sell well. You found out precisely everything I did when selling PC's, very interesting how pc looks usually topped true performance.
The path of an entrepreneur is hard. You need to make a lot of sacrifices but its all for good because it's for your future. (Depression, cant talk or see your families and friends, days of less sleep etc etc.) But yeah, you also have a point where to enjoy whatever youre doing right now and be happy. Btw. Great video I like it.
My 3950X build I just did, I just shoved everything in the case, mounted the cooler, cleaned up the wiring, and prayed. Luckily it worked. I've never bench tested before putting it together.
I live in south africa where pc prices are crazy and started doing this while at my final year of school. I can really relate to the depression associated with it. I went from having no money and an athlon pc to having R20 000 (1200 USD) and an i7 7700k system but all my relationships suffered as well as my school grades. Before doing this i was sure i'd do something relating tech after education but working on something that's completely digital and essentially meaningless can be really emotionally draining. Not to mention the deal hunting and bartering. The few months selling pc's was definitely the most stressful time of my life.
I really enjoyed this video. Things I have been on my mind you talked about. Hearing your story was more insightful than you probably know. Thanks for taking the time to make this and I didn't get tired or bored at all like you said we may in the opening statement. Your channel has been growing well lately, at least at far as I can tell, and I am just really happy for you. Look forward to your future works. Take care! RGHD
I was seling desktop pc from 1998 to 2002somerhing...simular like you...best thing was that I always have good hardware in my personal comp. After a while I get borred of buying new hardware for life... if not broken and unfixable or completely outdated, don't change.
I got EMA a number of years before that as well. I kept turning up to school as I had previously and didn't study any harder than I had previously. The result? Turning up to school for £30 made no difference, but was nice to have a very small income at the time.
I have my own PC repair business, but since I live in a major metropolitan area, there are so many people doing it, it's extremely hard to make a living from it. So I have a 9-5 job as an IT Specialist.
I've been watching you since 2017, your tutorials and experiments with computer parts made me want to get into PC Building. But for some reason you really love love love your 750 Ti 😂 Your curiosity and personality are the best in my opinion. Thanks RGinHD ❤️

I love watching your videos! When TH-cam doesn't recommend them, your videos are the only ones I go looking for!! Keep up the great work. Thanks.
I finished university, but I learnt almost everything about pc repairing from channels like this.
Thanks for the video! You along with Tech Yes City have taught me a ton about PCs and how to sell them. I'm a teenager and I've started selling used PCs, and so far it's been very profitable. I work full time during the summer but with school coming up I'm hoping to focus more on selling PCs as a consistent source of income, and I've even found a supplier locally to help with my endeavours !
this dude is og floor gang, 19 year old, 9 year old, bros, whatever you name it, much much respect.. love your content too, i hope one day you'll be a successful youtuber man
I really like this format, you have genuine life experiences that we can learn from.
Dude!
just a like a guy who wants to get a living but being a good guy at the same time.
Love the story of life, god has written for us!
Loved the video, keep these up!

: I made money buying and selling PCs as a teenager.
HM Revenue: Really? Hello, let me introduce my self...
The profit would not reach the taxable floor.
I used to share a rented house with a guy who repaired electronic keyboards etc once, he declared 10k a year.(about right, maybe 12k today)
The taxman actually turned up at the door to have a word.
Hahahaha brilliant.
@@MrChriss000 back in 2012 the tax free allowance was about £6k.

Thank you.
Definitely keep up with this storytime type of videos, lots of useful information paired with that smooth voice = gold
i liked the quick cuts. Makes the video look next level
the expression is "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves". this was coined by Frank Winfield Woolworth in the '20s and is in bedded in the Woolworth buildings architecture the building is in new york city USA.
It was funny seeing brian from TECH YES going over your 4 cheap pcs.lol. love you RG top bloke, makes me laugh👍
10/10 would buy him a pint.
I always picked your videos because they're honest and you don't work with crazy high budgets. It's great 😎
I love this story and it makes me even more connected to the channel, HOWEVER.
I really enjoy your videos dude, such a chill and cool guy. It's always a pleasure to learn from you! I'd never dislike a video of yours!
wow look at you now 5.6k subs come long way congrats
This is exactly what I did back in 1998. Love the channel. Great job man!
This man is ......... genuinely likeable. Keep in the good work 👍🏾
I love your videos man, I somehow relate to you more than any other youtuber, even though I haven't built a single PC in my life(due to money issues). You just inspire me to build a pc and I am trying my best towards it. Again love you man ❤️
Dude I love waking up in the morning and watching your video while getting ready for my day
I am currently 15 and due to the Covid-19 I am not a school originally I was planning to get a summer job however that cannot be the case and therefore I have decided to start building pc and selling for a small profit. Thanks for inspiring me.
2:15 That reinforces my long-term belief that "sixth" is the hardest to pronounce word in English
Now try "queue".
Thanks for your videos mate, from the US. I enjoy your content alot. Take care brother
This vid was actually super informative, I would love a small series of more stuff like this
YES! You are not the most knowledgeable Yutuber , but YES you are one of the best youtuber out there!
This is the first "serious" and really interesting clip you post in a long time, i encourage you to follow up, good job todsy.
just started selling pc, been fixing comouters a few years now and this helped me a bit more with how to market the pcs i build
Been here since 30k , there ain't many things better than Tea and a video of RGinHD
Loved the video, I’m trying to get into pc business stuff myself, and this was very motivating!
I love your channel and its obscure gpus. You got me appreciating old hardware and into pc again!
I think you should make this a somewhat regular series and give it a name. The video was quite enjoyable.
Wow such a genuine story. Really shows passion and honesty pays off. Really it's an inspiring story
And it's his choice 🤦
loved the vid! very nice story, would love to see it a series
In my limited experience building and selling computers locally, I've found that lower end (and cheaper) gaming PC's sell much better than high end ones.
Hey, I remember Carey Holzmann! He always had that Coca Cola bottle in the background

As someone who did quite a bit of tech support in the 2000s it's interesting how far we have come.
just realised how early i watched this i learned alot of stuff im going to definetiely apply for ena and youre my favourite tech youtube you got me into this thanks alot man.
Great video, thanks! I'll be happy to watch the other ones.
I feel sad i did not know about you while living in UK back in 2017... Wish you best of luck Big Lad!
Keep up doing what you do!
Love your videos, keep it honest and understand not every pc gamer has to have the greatest setups
Been doing this in the US for a few months now. Side hustle is very successful right now.
I like you man, you are very down to earth, genuine guy. Keep it up.
(Depression, cant talk or see your families and friends, days of less sleep etc etc.)
But yeah, you also have a point where to enjoy whatever youre doing right now and be happy.
Thanks for posting this, I'm sure many enthusiasts have wondered whether it would be possible to make a living out of building. Great channel.
Nice video! And Brian from TechYesCity was pretty positive about you. And keep up the good work!
Just a normal honest bloke! Good stuff
This probably sound silly but ive been waiting for a sign to start my pc repair business and you have gave me one.:)
Same but idk if my parents will be okay with that.
@@jonahv5149 just give it a shot. Start off inexpensive

Wow, very nice Video, nice to know your story and how you started! I think i subscribed you since 2014 or 2013? I dont know but i like your Videos very much! Greetings from Germany!
People still do that case thing they get them old dell towers and put them in a flashy case but there a good price
