This was undoubtedly my favorite episode of the series because it answered the one question I'd been asking since the start. "Why are the Gravity Fall people so dumb and unaware of all the supernatural stuff around the town?" The memory gun and the fact that there were a group of townpeople (the ones who most likely would know everything) involved cleared up so much. And of course, McGucket's real identity.
Fun Fact: Alex Hirsch actually animated a little scene of McGucket writing the journal and then purposefully leaked it on Twitter JUST to mess with the fans. Being in the fandom when these episodes were coming out was WILD
Note that McGucket's memories even explain the bandage on his beard: He got the cast on his hand and a bandage on his face in an accident… and then he forgot all about it. He never had the cast taken off, and his beard grew out from underneath the bandage, carrying it along. Though that's some _killer_ adhesive on the bandage, to last for 30 years! No wonder it always feels like you're ripping the living flesh off your bones, when you try to peel one of them off. Oh, and in the very last memory segment the subtitles are _lying_ to you! He isn't "speaking gibberish" at all… He's speaking *_code!_* "YROO XRKSVI! GIRZMTOV!"
I enjoyed that episode. I feel bad for McGucket. He lost his memories for 30 years. He finally remembered who he was. Straight Blanchin song was funny 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣
Gah! You edited out the big reveal! Dipper says to McGucket "So you weren't the author, but you worked with the author." That's important to know for the series.
They included the part where younger McGucket talks about working as the Author's assistant, I don't think what Dipper said was necessary to understand it

Fun fact, Stan's notebook, pen and a cup that went into portal, comes out from one of the portals in Rick and Morty Season 1, episode 10
"look at the size of those rats" he says, while looking at opossums
Fun fact: one of the cryptograms for this episode reveals that Bud Gleeful joined the society in order to forget all of Gideon's tantrums.
Ow wow I didn't know that one
That’s understandable

yeah Alex Hirsch, the creator of the show, do the voices of Stan, Sooz, Bill Cipher, Mc Gucket and a few more background characters
Those aren't rats, they're opossums
Great reaction!
2:44 and Bill & the gnomes
Alex Hirsch joked that McGucket saw Bill Cipher shedding his skin and eating it

The cup and stuff that went into the device came out of a portal in Rick and Morty Season 1 Episode 10.
4 more episodes, we are almost at the big reveal boys!🔥
Watching Mcgucket's memory reminds me the same tragic as the Ice King from Adventure Time.
5:33 "I hope it's the possibility someone's gonna lose their memory."
