    Nice project man, timing the belts is much easier with the special cam-blocking tool (Ducati=Special tools ...) This way you can loosen the 3 screws on the pulleys to apply the same belt tension all around the system, then re-tighten theses 3 screws on each pulley, turn the motor few times and re-check the tension.
    Anyway if your timing stay right after installing the new belt it will work
    I have a 1098 Streetfighter S and a 1198S Corse and i can tell you will love the bike, you should bring it to the track it's the perfect bike, not overpowered but very precise
    Cheers from France

    I have a cousin in bologna who used to work in ducati for the quality control department and I’ve been asking him for help for the desmo service and the belts and the conversation has went on too long than normal due to the language barrier until I saw this youtube channel (practical enthusiast) then I understood what he was saying and right then I got most of what he said and instructions.. dude even sent me shim kits and only paid for shipping.. he probably saved me more than $3k in ducati service costs over the years😂..

    Just for the record, 'throttle by wire' means electronic throttle. As in, the signal is transferred via electrical wiring rather than a mechanical connection - thus, throttle by wire. The kind you of throttle you are talking about is called cable actuated throttle, or just cable throttle.

    It's a blast leaning new things ain't it. And technically that bike is throttle by cable and your others would be throttle by wire I personally like having a direct mechanical connection with my carbs lol I like the old school stuff still running carburators

  • @shaaaafi
    @shaaaafi ปีที่แล้ว

    You don’t want to overtighten the throttle. You can tighten to remove the slack but turn the handlebars to its extreme ends and test the throttle.
    If the throttle rolls back, you’re good. However, if the throttle stays, then it’s too tight. You don’t want your bike to rev by itself and you have no control when taking corners.
    Sometimes the RPM with increase when you turn your handlebar at the ends even when you’re idling. If this happens, loosen the slack until it goes away.
    Please test the throttle with the handlebars turned at both ends. For your safety brother.

    @jeyseychelles1370 ปีที่แล้ว

    I still remember how to set the timing like thae way you showed 🤦‍♂️
    Tip. Ive seen people on TH-cam using the ceramic coating on the plastic it protects it and makes it look nice.
    And this is a cable throttle and its not throttle by wire, throttle by refers to your throttle system using electrical wires ( what u were calling electric throttle) and since the original ones were cable before we just call them throttle and we call the new technology throttle by wire (what u called electronic throttle)

  • @bryansuperduke1290r
    @bryansuperduke1290r ปีที่แล้ว

    I wouldn’t replace the original bullet connectors with an aftermarket connector and 2 shoulder joints, you now have 3 joints to the wire when there was only 1 b4. Has potential to cause more problems.
