Diana Ross with Special Guests - Q&A & I Will Survive (75th Birthday Diamond Jubilee - 0326 2019)

- The Finale of Diana Ross' 75th Birthday Bash at the Hollywood Palladium was epic and there were stars galore, who showed Ms Ross lots of love, as did the fans who filled the pack venue! Because I've been to many of her shows, there are certain songs that I don't bother taping because I know it's going to be the same old, same old. Songs like "Love Child," "Medley of "Love Hangover, Take Me Higher & Ease On Down The Road" and this Gloria Gaynor classic, "I Will Survive." I should have known better because these were the songs that she brought out the stars in so I only got a snippet here and there. So in making this video, I had to do a lot of editing. She usually does "I Will Survive" as her finale. She then walks off the stage before returning for a Q&A and a reprise of "I Will Survive." I usually tape the Q&A segment because it's a guarantee that it'll be a little different and surprising. This was the case on this night and I made sure I captured the "I Will Survive" encore so for this video...that's what I started off with, followed by the finale of "I Will Survive" - where she brought out Stevie Wonder, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Robin Thicke and DJ Khaled. So for people who were at the concert, you may notice the switch but if you weren't, I hope I made it look seemless. Enjoy and Happy Birthday Ms Ross! It was the best concert I've been to....ever!!

She has amazing star power. Its a spiritual energy. She's always had it. You see and hear it right away when you listen to her early recordings and watch her videos from the early 1960s. There are people out there who knock her for her ambition but I honestly believe that if Berry Gordy didn't make the changes that he did to the group when he made her lead singer they would not have become as successful as they did. I love Mary Wilson and I think she's a good singer, but she doesn't have what Diana has. That is very obvious. It is also the reason why Diana went on to become a much bigger star after she left the Supremes. And all these years later she's still got it. Most performers fade after a few years and can't fill a venue if they do a live show. Not Diana. Her fans are very loyal and follow her everywhere. That is love. Her music is also about love. There's no racial undertones, or hate-filled political agenda. Everybody just feels good when they listen to her music and attend her shows. I love her forever.

You are so right, I say the same about her becoming lead singer!!! Because of her they have 12 number ones, and they are the biggest American group ever still after all these years male or female. Second only to the Beatles a European group, but that still doesn't satisfy some people who think Florence Ballard should have remained the lead, but then Berry wouldn't have his pop group and Motown probably wouldn't be as big as it became.

i couldnt name 10 tina turner songs off the top of my head. but i could definatly name 10 diana ross songs off the top of my head the supremes alone beats tina witj hit recorda. im sorry but i simply cannot see that turner has more hit records than rods. the supremes opened the door fot a llot of artists that came later, ross has at least 18 # 1 hits i dont believe that turner beats that

Jim you are missing the point. Diana's list of number 1s is definitely high up there but that's got nothing to do with total record sales. Just because she's had more number 1s than her contemporaries doesn't necessarily mean she's sold more records. I can't verify the Tina Turner 200 million records stat but I've seen it a lot online. Again just because you can't name 10 Tina Turner hits just like that doesn't prove that she is less popular. Infact she enjoys far more massive popularity than Ross especially overseas, it makes sense to compare her to Michael Jackson and Madonna in terms of popularity.......she's also sold more concert tickets than any female solo performer.

Just thinking how glad I am that Diana Ross (and her fans) got to see this day in her life... So so many beautiful artists (those Miss Ross may have known or worked with) didn't get a chance to see their big 75th. I truly am thankful to GOD we've had these years with Miss Ross....seeing her receive her 'fruits' is simply a powerful testament to an unpaved road long traveled...🙏

Just being honest. This is such a classy lady even when she was on stage one time and said something like "it been 30 fucking years"It was still classy because it came out of her mouth. And also we all understand her being excited. I love this lady her music which brought me through years of sexual, physical, and mental abuse. And it seriously saved me when I was suicidal In fact the lyrics in her song" I'm in the world" stopped me in my tracks the last time I tried and made me realize I had something to live for....and I love you and wanna again thank you bru for sharing these fantastic videos with us. I think it's her brother Chico. He was one of the dancers in her Vegas show in 1979 as well.
Why didn't she stand alone. This was her time and her Tribute. I couldn't enjoy her and her all with the guy shadowing her. She made it with real talent and she struggled with being exploited, discriminated against as her color and gender paid some hefty dues in those days. Somebody else needs to sit their behind down.
