I also love how he can tackle serious subjects without loosing his sardonic irony and sense of humor, exposing the self important fanatics for what they really are, a bunch of dangerous silly billies. I find this joins people together under the ideas of critical thinking and human decency rather than polarize them on superficial ideological sinkholes that take us nowhere. Keep it up Serj.

Not only did Serj do so damn well without SOAD, but he also evolved more than the other members, when you listen to Scars On Broadway it still sounds like the same thing Daron did back in the day with his tracks, while Serj actually evolved into something new and fresh with each album,
I personally was very upset with the Dictator album, it is the kind of album that ages like milk. Took too long to be released, only to show that Daron is still doing the same thing. The first SOB album was praised because it was interpreted as a sequel of Mezmerize/Hypnotize, sonically, it really is. Great bands are identified by having musical phases, only Serj worked on it, he did pop rock, classical, progressive rock, synth stuff. Dictator sounds like another spinoff from Mezmerize/Hypnotize.
@@JimmyFucker exactly my thoughts, as a big fan of what daron did, and as middle eastern who loves metal music and as a guitarist, of course I love to see metal and middle eastern music combined, the thing is Daron just became less and less enjoyable, from someone I looked up to, to someone I can't stand anymore. he doesn't even have any excuse for it, sometimes, artists, even though they are A-holes and unlikeable, their art is totally great. Currently, Daron has nothing. it's like he didn't even try to change, improve, evolve, it's the literal copy of what he did back in the day, even from a guitar playing standpoint, Crazy to think how Serj, even though he aint even a guitarist managed to make more creative riffs than Daron.

The drumming in particular definitely felt like a step down since Daron played them instead of John, like on the first album. Daron's lyricism isn't as good as Serj's either. Angry Guru rhymes guru with poopoo.
I always liked Serj stuff more because he is unpredictable as an artist and works hard. Elect The Dead is timeless because it brought art-rock to the younger generations, this is the kind of artist we would have in the 70s decade. He is always at his creative peak and has a good team of audiovisual, musical, poetry artists. And Serj has become a real music producer.

@@JimmyFucker exactly my thoughts, as a big fan of what daron did, and as middle eastern who loves metal music and as a guitarist, of course I love to see metal and middle eastern music combined,
the thing is Daron just became less and less enjoyable, from someone I looked up to, to someone I can't stand anymore. he doesn't even have any excuse for it, sometimes, artists, even though they are A-holes and unlikeable, their art is totally great. Currently, Daron has nothing.

Crazy to think how Serj, even though he aint even a guitarist managed to make more creative riffs than Daron.
@@JimmyFucker I got really excited when Daron first dropped Guns Are Loaded because it was the first SoaD-related music we'd gotten in a while but I do agree on the album as a whole not being great. The drumming in particular definitely felt like a step down since Daron played them instead of John, like on the first album. Daron's lyricism isn't as good as Serj's either. Angry Guru rhymes guru with poopoo.
I always liked Serj stuff more because he is unpredictable as an artist and works hard.
Elect The Dead is timeless because it brought art-rock to the younger generations, this is the kind of artist we would have in the 70s decade. He is always at his creative peak and has a good team of audiovisual, musical, poetry artists. And Serj has become a real music producer.
@@JimmyFucker I thought it sounded great, even if it wasn't really new. Apparently he had made it all the way back in like 2012 so if he didn't wait so long for no reason to release I feel like no one would feel this way about the album.
