I literally just got some Muncher cucumber seeds (50 cents a pack USD) to try growing indoors. I just got my first ever indoor vine-ripe tomato in winter. Peppers are still slowly going (10 months and counting but they finally have fruit). I am also new at growing stuff like this indoors so it's a learning process for me.
@@Liap Not sure actually. I got some fresh super hot peppers from a Mexican friend who got them from a Mexican friend of his. He said they were "Carolina Reapers" but now that they are finally fruiting, it doesn't look like Reapers. They are really hot though.
@@Liap Whenever I'm awake lol. It can range from 10-20 hours a day. They don't seem to mind that. However, my home is a little on the cool side and I think that has made them take longer to grow and fruit. When they were seedlings under a smaller light, I left the light on 24/7 and they did well. If I were to do it again (I probably will), I would put the peppers in bigger pots with more targeted lighting, heat mats, and pruning. These were not pruned, ever. They made it to about 2.5ft tall before flowering.
Could you describe to me your set up for this? I'm wanting to grow gerkins in my apartment I don't have much space but I would like to try and do two pots of the size in your video. But im not sure what else I would need as far as indoor lighting goes and environment set.
Did you hand-pollinate every cucumber? I'm trying to do that, but keep failing. Your video is very informative and it's fascinating to watch them grow. Thank you for posting.
Hello. Yes I hand-pollinated every single one. You can do it with male flowers (like I did in the video) or using just cotton swabs. Thank You very much, I am very glad You like the video a find it enjoyable to watch ☺🍀
Can you explain the reflective walls/tent and wiring you used? Like what materials or products? And purposes of this grow tent thing? I’m new to gardening and starting indoors as I live in urban setting.
It’s a small grow tent from marshydro (70cmx70cm), the reflective walls are made to increase the intensity of growlight, some sun loving vegetables will appreciate that (tomatoes, peppers, but also cucumbers). You can create such growing space yourself, there are many reflective foils you can use, depending on Your budget and plants you would like to grow. The wiring is a Classic plastic net used for growing cucumbers, but i cut it so it fits in the tent by it’s walls.

I will be new to indoor growing and want to know what's better, hydroponics or soil? Trying also the least expensive medium. Please help if you have the knowledge. Thank you.
Hydroponics will make your plants grow faster due to the root system having better access to oxygen. Hard to say which one is better, I think at the end of the day it depends on your personal preference. The least expensive medium will always be soil 🙂 I know I didn't help you much, but it's really up to you. I grow in soil, even when growing hydroponics would most likely get me better results. I just like trying different soil mixtures and so on. If you can't decide, maybe you should try both 😉 Good Luck!
Great video!! Can you give info on the set up you used please. Type/wattage of light? Nutrients used? Thank you so much. I am determined to grow a cake and tomato indoors during the winter. Thank you!
Hello and thank you! The type of growlight is Marshydro Eco 300W (real Wattage 142W). I didn't use much fertilizer as I grew these in compost-rich medium but I used nettle fertilizer twice and chicken manure fertilizer once as far as I remember. Though I don't recommend using them if are going to gro w somewhere you spend time indoors, as these fertilizers will stink for some while, especially the nettle one. Good luck! 🙂
OK... I'm guessing from the blurple, that you're using either Mars/Galaxy/Roledro type... What advertised wattage light did you use.. And would foxfarm original be a good soil or should i mix a couple different ones?
Yop, it's marsyhdro eco 300W. The actuall wattage is around 142W. Any high quality soil will work. It's about what fits you 🙂 Me personally I like to mix different sources of soil. Just for experimenting 😉
I think it would not be enough, but I might be wrong. Cucumbers need plenty of light. Maybe they would grow under 100W, but I think they would need more for decent fruit production.
Hello, I didn't prune much, just some side shoots that were not growing from the bases. I really don't know if I will be growing anything indoors any time soon, so I can't promise a video on this topic 😐
Hello, the container size is around 22l (6gal) and I grew 3 plants per container. Though, two would be probably better, they became quite spread all over the place pretty quickly.
Hello, well that depends on how much direct sunlight they can get there. If it's at leas 6 hours of direct sunlight, they will probably be able to grow some fruit, but I wouldn't have big expectations. Yes, grow lights are crazy expensive... I only got it to be able to grow some tomatoes and cucumbers during winter months, as there is not much I can grow outside where I live. And also because there was a discount at the time 🤭
Hello, I got these cucumber seeds from a friend who lives in Canada. The company name is mckenzie. When it comes to europe I like to get seeds from different places and companies. There are plenty to choose from, depends on Your preference. I live in Slovakia, so I got most of the seeds from here or Czechia. Hope this helps 🙂
