    03:38 I see your pack is made with E61V cells from LG. FYI, Audi has just issued a recall for these (reference 93U9), due to a potential thermal runaway condition.

      Thanks for the information, that’s new to me. Glad that i never have my pack inside of my house. I wonder what they will come up with.

    I have 140KWH of model s modules At 48v I have run them between 40-50v since 2016 offgrid only. I have run over 90,000 kwh (AC) thru the system, so batteries maybe did half of that plus 15% for DC to AC loss. Simp BMS just sharing.

    I’ve done the same with Tesla packs. With nearly 100kwh of batteries I don’t think charging to 3.9v will be a problem as you have so much storage. The best balancer for these types of huge packs are the 5A capacity balance ones that transfer energy from the highest cells to the lowest. WARNNG…. Don’t leave it on the pack running all the time….with the NEE balancer you can tell it to activate only when the pack hits say 3.85v per cell. Otherwise it balances all the time even when the cell voltage is low causing a very unbalanced pack. I would go for 75% capacity use of that pack seeing as it’s so huge. Not worth risking a fire.

    You need a proper inverter!
    SMA sunny island 43-64v, victron energy multiplus 38-66v, studer xtender 38-68v battery voltage range.
    The modules in the main part of the battery pack might be 12s.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Hello! I have a bunch of eTron modules for my EV conversion. Could you please tell me the thickness of the busbars connecting each module together? I'm guessing they are about 3 or 4mm thick? Just one measurement will be fine, not all of them 🤭 Good luck with your project

      I got my battery, its super easy i was amazed..u just need to open the front aluminium part..its rubber gasket sealed no sealant.. there are fuses and relays there for turning the voltage on or off from the battery. Battery and managment is self contained..no connection to bms under it..just 2 battery connections..from what i plan is to have the positive and negative relay that connect the battery output wired to a 12v supply that activates the relays..when relays are on ubhave battery voltage and are off no battery volttage and u plus have a fast fuse safety there ..if anything shorts they will burn and u are safe..so audi tought of us diy types..just have the relays turned on or off from outside and u have 400v from the outputs on the husing... Will get my 12kw solax next week and have work started

      396v nominal voltage.
      No, the upper section has to be removed first. Here is a video on the rest of the battery.

    Lithium-ion cell chemistry give you 3,7volt nominal if you have a 3S setup your Growatt inverter will work fine if you Series the 5 packs giving you 15S configuration. Thus 3,7v*15=55,5V below the 58,4 max allowed( this value comes from the LFP chemistry of 3,2v but normally a 16S setup)
    Just don't mix battery types(chemistries) on the Growatt or any inverter.

      Hi. Yes you are right but I would like to have the chance to sometimes charge my batteries up to 4.1v/cell, I lose too many kilowatt-hours not to have that chance, for example when I’m expecting bad weather for a few days. Thanks for your comment 😊

  • @s2000Macedonia

    Hi what happend to this battery..have u used it with the solax? Or did u sell it and got the id3 battery instead? Btw how much does the etron battery cost you.just for info.

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My friend bought it and he will use it for solar storage. My plan was only to use this together with my growatt inverters in a 15s config but the growatt inverters could only charge that config to 80% soc.
      And the second reason:
      Etron battery voltage 400v
      Id3 battery voltage 450v
      So I choose id3 for its higher voltage and the slim format of it.

    lfp ? or nmc ? 5 of these in series go at 50v.+ . every 48v inverter can work em that way

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      NCM712. it depends on the voltage range on your inverter, it will work, but you won’t be able to charge them to 100%. (63v) with every inverter.

      @@flyingtools lets say you over charge the 58.4 + somehow .. ( another charger paralel ) . can that growatt work with more or you burn its mppt if paraleled with more volts ? ? can 4 more volts cause problems ?

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@panospapadimitriou3498 no it will hold for that I guess. I had at least 60 volt when I did discharge some modules in another test. I now have a 500v diy battery so I do not use those inverters anymore, so I can not do any tests on them.

    LOL This SPF 5000 is built for 48V batteries. It is surprise to me that it works with 58V. Why didn't you just wire 2 modules in parallel and get 48V ? Why 60? I have the latest firmware for it (06 from Jan 2022). Let me know if you want it

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lithium ion 14s battery holds a voltage between 44-58 volts.
      A 15s will have a voltage to 63v fully charged, growatt can only charge to 58,6v and you are only able to use 80% of the battery capacity.
      Im not sure what you mean with parallel to modules to 48v. If you men to parallel two etron modules, they will only give you 11,1 volts.
