Well the personal attachment thing he learned long before this. They didn't say anything about puberty at all besides a brief mention that the feelings are natural (plus it's over a decade late for that). So even if the Jedi call something else "the talk" or we do look at it as though we mean "The talk" on earth, Anakin's clearly heard it all before. Yes I answer what was clearly a joke seriously because that's what I like to do.

One really great thing about this scene is how cluttered Anakin's room is. Whenever you see another Jedi's chambers, they are almost empty. The Jedi will have some furniture and a few personal items, but that's it. Anakin's room, on the other hand, is messy and filled with junk. It's a really cool visual representation of how Jedi are supposed to be detached from the physical world, but Anakin isn't.
Apparently in one of the legends comics (or it might be canon now), Anakin had a very lonely childhood at the order. His only pleasures were fixing things in his room and racing on the lower levels. Which makes how cluttered his room is more sad.
I recall Padme herself saying to Anakin "Obi Wan can help 'us'" ('us' meaning he, she and their babies) And I think Obi Wan would do so! If only Anakin's feelings weren't so much in the way.

Ralph Wiggum Obi Wan was trained by Qui-Gon Jinn, who was not allowed to be on the Jedi Council as he believed in the old tradition of following the force, rather than manipulating it (which he believed led him to Anakin). Obi Wan would obviously have some of this mentality instilled into him naturally, so along with it not being the Jedi way to kill an unarmed opponent (such as how Anakin said it was not the Jedi way before he killed Dooku), along with the teachings of Qui-gon, he decided to let the force decide on the fate of Anakin. Sorry if that was too long an answer.

Loved being able to get a look into Anakin's private quarters. No we've seen all 3 of the main characters' bedrooms which is something i would have never expected to see in any form tbh.
I don't know the exact episodes, but you get to see Ahsoka's room in the episode of her protecting Padme from Aurra Sing, and you get to see Obi Wan's room in one of the first Death Watch episodes, where Satine is being hunted by them on Coruscant.

Things got pretty dark and were going to get darker. Wish they included the incident where Anakin had to force choke the allied soldiers to ensure his clone troopers got on to the few remaining ships to flee from separatists after one of the worst lost battles of the war
By the end of the series, I can imagine it. You can kind of see Anakin's transformation there. It comes out of nowhere if you only watch Episodes 2 and 3. It's a lot more obvious if you watch TCW.
Poor Ani. The Jedi Order failed to save his mom, forced him to lie about his love to everyone. He lived a life of war and death for years. Small wonder he wanted a simple, ordered and controlled solution in the end.
You can see how affected Anakin is in this season after Ahsoka's departure. He appears angry, discontented and doubtful all the time, which only made worse by Palpatine's machinations. It saddens me to think that this is the beginning of his downfall and his resentment towards the Order.
The Clovis arc was originally going to be in season 5, but the Youngling arc replaced it. I think it actually works better taking place after Ahsoka left, as it makes Anakin more sympathetic.
I wanna say the down-fall already began when Obi-Wan agreed on faking his death to become undercover as Rako Hardeen. Anakin was really ticked off when he found out that the Council willingly deceived him.

i think obi wan knew that they had a relationship or at least suspected it, but never turned in anakin. probobaly should have seeing as it might have prevented the creation of vader

Obi Wan loved anakin like a brother and wanted him to be happy, that's why he shares his story about him and Satine with Anakin to show him that what he's feeling and doing is not out of the ordinary or evil.

Obi Wan did know. And it's both tragic and heartwarming that he never went to the council with the knowledge, because he was well aware Padame was the one thing that made Anakin happy. Obi was a better friend than Anakin gave him credit for.

John Kraemer Not even, Episode III was outright awful. The characters, their dialogue, and their actions are the most backward I have ever seen. No one makes rational decisions in a plethora of dark emotions. The tone of the film is nothing but tense, suspense, and action. It never veers from this. There's no hope, no bit of light, or even a bit of good. It's all dark emotions. Just because the film is dark does not make it good, either.

I like how Anakin is actually working on machines. He’s said to be just as skilled with machines as he is piloting, yet in shows or movies we don’t really get to see that all the time.
Since he is also a jedi, he has godly levels of intelligence he should be shown building some crazy shit. In the comics we do see him build some awesome stuff.

He probably didn't know the extent of it, probably because he didn't want to. As long as it remained a hunch and nothing more, he would not feel forced to choose between the code and Anakin.
I want to point out something very specific I’ve started noticing that’s very intelligent: notice that here, Obi-Wan says this is how Master Yoda feels. In ROTS, Anakin asks how Obi-Wan could ask him to spy on the Chancellor, and Obi-Wan replies: “The council is asking you.” I love this, because it shows that Obi-Wan separates himself from the council’s more questionable decisions, particularly when they concern Anakin. And I think he’s on the council because, while he definitely does drink the kool-aid a bit too much (“only a sith deals in absolutes” is an absolute, after all), Qui-gon did successfully teach him not to trust the council’s decisions blindly and he wants to be there bringing a different perspective to their choices. The problem with that is he couldn’t oppose the council too much or he’d lose whatever influence he actually had, including any he used to help and protect Anakin.
exact Obi wan wasn't as devoted to the current code and ways of the jedi as some of the council like mace windu were. Obi wan like Anakin had reasons for wanting the code to change ie his sibling like relationship to Anakin ( which was not allow ) and the fact that Obi wan dispite how much he tried pretend that he wasn't was in love with Satine he was very much so(which again was allow ) both these thing s are reasons why obi wan would be a threat to those like Mace who didnt want the code to change and the reason why they wouldn't want to grant Anakin the rank of master or a proper seat on the council as that would give Obi wan strong allie that also wanted things to change .
@@satinekenobi4ver855 I think you have that reversed in some ways, or at least with the example of mace windu. He was extremely on the edge of what Jedi were supposed to do. He created a unique fighting style that essentially combined the light side and the dark side of the force, (hence the purple lightsaber, it's red+blue). There were plenty of people on the counsel that were frozen in the old ways though, and mace windu was flexible in the places he was flexible, but unyeilding in others.
I like how anakins room compared to everyone’s is so filled with stuff like Jedi aren’t supposed to have possessions but here he is with a poster of the pod race that he won and a model kit of a star fighter
Building things and fixing things and being a great engineer/pilot is a key thing about Anakin but we rarely get to see it on screen, only in books so I loved seeing him in his workshop tinkering away for once
Time line shift: instead of telling him they must remain friends, he says “I can’t stop you, the code is clear. But if you talk to be about these issues when they arise I’ll help you work through them and keep it between us. I’m your master. Talking to me won’t end up in escalation. You know I align with the code. But that doesn’t mean if you violate it I’d suddenly not be here for you”.
I love how ObiWan was once again being a father to Anakin, and letting him know it's natural for them to love, like he loved Satine, but it made me very sad to see how aggressive Anakin became to his caring, dear, soft-spoken master ObiWan... But Anakin being regretful for what he said to him behind his back, was touching... It was nice to see Anakin didn't really want to be like that to his Master...

Hard disagree. The Prequels solidly established the conflict and why Anakin did what he did. It was clearly told and easily understood. The Clone Wars can add layers but it's not like the Prequels didn't do the job good enough already.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi You're right, it _was_ clearly told. Like many things in the prequels, we are constantly _told_ how "in love" Anakin is with Padme, yet the problem is that we are never _shown_ why. George doesn't trust his audience enough to let their relationship naturally develop, which is why we are met with ham-fisted dialogue about how Anakin wants to "wish away his feelings".
I get the sense that obi wan was just a few more conversations away from getting anakin to truly open up about his feeling for padme. Which might of saved him. Unlike the conversation anakin has with yoda in ROTS which is basically 'just deal with it'

I wish I had a straight up Clone Wars marathon when it started streaming on Netflix 10 years ago. Sure as a little kid it was mind blowing to see all the battles and action scenes and whatnot. But as a grown up, it’s kinda spiritually different seeing the episodes like Yoda’s journey and moments like this one of Obi-Wan and Anakin
Anakin loves Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan loves Anakin. The problem is that Obi-Wan consideres it a flaw, he thinks that as a jedi he shouln't love Anakin, and thus never admits it openly. Anakin needs the verbal reassurance, which he never gets, and he is aware that although Obi-Wan loves him he is somehow ashamed of this fact, and would always choose the council over their friendship. This prevents Anakin from fully trusting Obi-Wan, and builds a lot of resentiment from his end. I think lots of bad things could've been avoided if only Obi-Wan were more open with his feelings towards Anakin (brotherly feelings).
@@AnzuBrief _Brother love!!!!_ Obi-Wan and Anakin have a brotherly love for each other! Not every love is romantic, there's sibling love (Obi and Ani), friend love (Ani and Rex), parental love (Ani and Qui Gon,) etc.

This is really fantastic. Obi Wan is trying to help but it’s not at all what Anakin wanted or needed to hear. Padme is all Anakin cares about but his Jedi responsibilities simply forbid any romance between them. Moments like this must have left a deep frustration boiling within Anakin.

You know a lot of problems could have been avoided if Anakin had come clean about his marriage to Padme in this moment. After all Obi Wan just openly admitted to him about his feelings for Satine. That would have been a perfect moment to actually open up and have a heart to heart with them. Because Obi Wan did genuinely want to help him.
Am I the only one who thinks that this was a golden, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Anakin to tell Obi-Wan about Padme? Obi-Wan seemed to be acting more reasonable and lenient on Anakin about the anti-emotions rule.
It’s so sad that you could visibly SEE that Anakin wanted to be able to talk about this stuff openly… But when Obi-Wan told him he had to put his feelings aside, he closed off further, caught between his feelings for Padme and the threat of isolation should the order (the only thing he had left) find out and remove him from their ranks. No wonder there was so much resentment for Palpatine to feed on. All he needed was somebody who he could rely on and didn’t feel the need to put on airs about.
This reminds me of the excellent line from Revenge of the Sith (that was sadly cut) where Obi-Wan tells Padmé that he is not blind although he has tried very hard to be for Anakin's sake. He goes on to say that he knew about them but also knew how happy it made Anakin and as such let it happen.
That little hesitation Anakin felt at the end, he wants to tell Obi Wan everything. He's like a father to him and he just wants that side of him but he can't, because of the order and it's dogmatic view of the force. Anakin should've quit the order

I think a reason that Obi wan let anakin have padme and his marriage is because he wanted anakin to have what he could never have with Satine. Excuse me gotta go sob
anakin was also an unusual case, and struggled with trauma the other jedi never had to experience as children. imo obi-wan simply came the conclusion that even if forbidden his relationship would likely be better for his mental well-being than trying to stay strict to the jedi teachings and probably wouldn't result in any issues besides a possible conflict of interest on a mission. obviously we know how it goes but none of the jedi knew sidious was in their midst and obviously none suspected he would try to groom anakin as his next apprentice when Dooku was already present up until the very end of the war.
Forbidding people from having feelings is as ridiculous as it is impossible (at least for humans). Denying your feelings doesn't make them go away and attempting to repress them is damaging to your mental health and well being. It's far better to be a well balanced individual that embraces their emotions but doesn't allow them to control their thinking or actions. That's the lesson the jedi should have been teaching.
That's all well and good until you have an outside force(The Force) that amplifies your emotions and emotional responses. With great power comes great responsibility, and to the Jedi that is a way of life. Either control your emotions or they could end up controlling you.
Are you seriously gonna tell an order that lasted for hundreds of years how they should teach their younglings? They had their methods and if you didn't like it you could leave at any time. Anakin could've left if he wanted
The force is too sensitive for the emotions as anger/hatred combined with the force makes you extremely dangerous. It's not "impossible" at all as Jedi have been doing for thousands of years in training. Jedi don't teach the lesson that which you're saying at all right now because the force doesn't comply with human emotions naturally as the force is too dangerous. Jedi practice stoicism as a means to protect themselves from the terrible influence that which the dark side CAN do, that's what you're not understanding right now on WHY Jedi push to massive extremes like this. And jedi training to hide away from their emotions starts EXTREMELY earlier so they can begin hiding away their emotions from themselves and especially the force.

This is the best example of why the Jedi were so flawed and vulnerable to this thing happening. Obi Wan was like his brother. Instead of hearing Anakin out in that moment he instead didn’t want to know and told him to hold his feelings inside. The Jedi temple really needed an HR office 😂
Sad how Obi-Wan was trying to open up, help, connect, and Anakin saw him only as a narc, didn't trust his master to not instantly report him to the council. Obi-Wan was trying to protect Anakin, reminding him what's at stake, but Anakin saw it only as a threat. One conversation but two completely different views on it. There's some massive distrust towards Obi-Wan there. It can't be just from the time he faked his death and the council lied to Anakin about it. Anakin's distrust of the council and the Jedi runs deeper than this.
Anakin had a massive hang up about the fact that he believed that Obi wan only took him on as a Padawan because it was Qui gon dieing wish and that Obi wan never wanted him. And it didn’t matter how many times Obi wan told Anakin that he didn’t just take him on because of his promise to too Qui gon and that he cared about Anakin . Anakin still thought that Obi wan didn’t want him Anakin was so insecure deep down.
@@ladysatinekenobi8723 The Clovis arcs are the only times The Clone Wars series actually does Anakin right. The rest of the time, he's a different character from the real Anakin Skywalker that's shown in the movies, the Tartakovski series and the Expanded Universe.
This scene was brilliant. Obi-Wan confronting Anakin and as the conversation gets deeper he sits and turns his back to Anakin, like people do when they're having a really uncomfortable conversation and aren't able to look the person in the eye. It's just voiced and directed really well.
You really feel that gap of insight when it comes to discussing relationships here. Obi-Wan knows about Anakin and Padme, and he knows in his heart that it's not really wrong for Jedi to form attachments like that, but because of the Jedi's zero-tolerance policy he just doesn't have the necessary wisdom and insight to really help Anakin here because it was never taught to him.
anyone catch that starfighter model Anakin was holding? looked like the usual jedi starfighters but it had the hexagonal wing flaps from the interceptors. I wonder why we never saw it in action?
I like the little details of Anakin's quarters. it's kinda messy, with stacks of boxes he never bothered to fully unpack or store properly. He also had model ships and a Podracing poster, showing his love for flying and watching sports.
Obi-Wan knew how he felt about her. Giving him and relationship arc with Satine only adds more depth to the fact that he understands what Anikan must be going through. But unlike Obi Wan, Anikan is lacks the self control his master has, and despite his best efforts to coach his apprentice Obi Wan failed to really teach him how to let go of those feelings. If Qui Gon never died Anikan’s ability to handle emotions and fear would have been much better
I love how different anakins room is from any other Jedi personal chambers. Rarely is it anything more than a bed. A meditation mat. And maybe a dresser? Meanwhile anakins room legit looks like a workshop any common person would have. Dudes got collectables, poster, hobbies. It’s great

Honestly I think he knew from the beginning of AOTC when they were in the elevator. He tried to calm Anakin down and be a wing-man for him but like here he didn't really know what to say.

Luke was a teenager in ANH. Thou Anakin was a fleshed out general, warrior and husband he still needed something to do in his spare time. You can't just focus entirely in war matters. You need distractions, otherwhise your mind will implode.

Well the personal attachment thing he learned long before this. They didn't say anything about puberty at all besides a brief mention that the feelings are natural (plus it's over a decade late for that). So even if the Jedi call something else "the talk" or we do look at it as though we mean "The talk" on earth, Anakin's clearly heard it all before.

He may have regretted for turning a blind eye on the relationship but it did result in the birth of Luke and Leia who eventually brought down the Galactic Empire.

One really great thing about this scene is how cluttered Anakin's room is. Whenever you see another Jedi's chambers, they are almost empty. The Jedi will have some furniture and a few personal items, but that's it. Anakin's room, on the other hand, is messy and filled with junk. It's a really cool visual representation of how Jedi are supposed to be detached from the physical world, but Anakin isn't.
Apparently in one of the legends comics (or it might be canon now), Anakin had a very lonely childhood at the order. His only pleasures were fixing things in his room and racing on the lower levels. Which makes how cluttered his room is more sad.

What i never got is why obi wan never rescued anakin on mustafar after the duel. Hold anakin as like a prisoner away from Palpatine to turn him back to the light.

Obi Wan was trained by Qui-Gon Jinn, who was not allowed to be on the Jedi Council as he believed in the old tradition of following the force, rather than manipulating it (which he believed led him to Anakin). Obi Wan would obviously have some of this mentality instilled into him naturally, so along with it not being the Jedi way to kill an unarmed opponent (such as how Anakin said it was not the Jedi way before he killed Dooku), along with the teachings of Qui-gon, he decided to let the force decide on the fate of Anakin.

Poor Ani. The Jedi Order failed to save his mom, forced him to lie about his love to everyone. He lived a life of war and death for years. Small wonder he wanted a simple, ordered and controlled solution in the end.

You can see how affected Anakin is in this season after Ahsoka's departure. He appears angry, discontented and doubtful all the time, which only made worse by Palpatine's machinations. It saddens me to think that this is the beginning of his downfall and his resentment towards the Order.

Obi Wan did know. And it's both tragic and heartwarming that he never went to the council with the knowledge, because he was well aware Padame was the one thing that made Anakin happy. Obi was a better friend than Anakin gave him credit for.

Not even, Episode III was outright awful. The characters, their dialogue, and their actions are the most backward I have ever seen. No one makes rational decisions in a plethora of dark emotions.
The tone of the film is nothing but tense, suspense, and action.
It never veers from this. There's no hope, no bit of light, or even a bit of good. It's all dark emotions. Just because the film is dark does not make it good, either.

He probably didn't know the extent of it, probably because he didn't want to. As long as it remained a hunch and nothing more, he would not feel forced to choose between the code and Anakin.
I want to point out something very specific I’ve started noticing that’s very intelligent: notice that here, Obi-Wan says this is how Master Yoda feels. In ROTS, Anakin asks how Obi-Wan could ask him to spy on the Chancellor, and Obi-Wan replies: “The council is asking you.” I love this, because it shows that Obi-Wan separates himself from the council’s more questionable decisions, particularly when they concern Anakin. And I think he’s on the council because, while he definitely does drink the kool-aid a bit too much (“only a sith deals in absolutes” is an absolute, after all), Qui-gon did successfully teach him not to trust the council’s decisions blindly and he wants to be there bringing a different perspective to their choices. The problem with that is he couldn’t oppose the council too much or he’d lose whatever influence he actually had, including any he used to help and protect Anakin.
exact Obi wan wasn't as devoted to the current code and ways of the jedi as some of the council like mace windu were. Obi wan like Anakin had reasons for wanting the code to change ie his sibling like relationship to Anakin ( which was not allow ) and the fact that Obi wan dispite how much he tried pretend that he wasn't was in love with Satine he was very much so(which again was allow ) both these thing s are reasons why obi wan would be a threat to those like Mace who didnt want the code to change and the reason why they wouldn't want to grant Anakin the rank of master or a proper seat on the council as that would give Obi wan strong allie that also wanted things to change .
@@satinekenobi4ver855 I think you have that reversed in some ways, or at least with the example of mace windu. He was extremely on the edge of what Jedi were supposed to do. He created a unique fighting style that essentially combined the light side and the dark side of the force, (hence the purple lightsaber, it's red+blue). There were plenty of people on the counsel that were frozen in the old ways though, and mace windu was flexible in the places he was flexible, but unyeilding in others.

Building things and fixing things and being a great engineer/pilot is a key thing about Anakin but we rarely get to see it on screen, only in books so I loved seeing him in his workshop tinkering away for once

Time line shift: instead of telling him they must remain friends, he says “I can’t stop you, the code is clear. Hard disagree. The Prequels solidly established the conflict and why Anakin did what he did. It was clearly told and easily understood. The Clone Wars can add layers but it's not like the Prequels didn't do the job good enough already.

George doesn't trust his audience enough to let their relationship naturally develop, which is why we are met with ham-fisted dialogue about how Anakin wants to "wish away his feelings".

It's not a poster of Subulba. From a larger angle, you can see the picture of another alien contestant. It's probably a poster advertising the Pod race that he won (Sebulba being the initial favorite, it shows his picture) that he keeps as a souvenir.

I wish I had a straight up Clone Wars marathon when it started streaming on Netflix 10 years ago. Sure as a little kid it was mind blowing to see all the battles and action scenes and whatnot. Anakin loves Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan loves Anakin. The problem is that Obi-Wan consideres it a flaw, he thinks that as a jedi he shouln't love Anakin, and thus never admits it openly. Anakin needs the verbal reassurance, which he never gets, and he is aware that although Obi-Wan loves him he is somehow ashamed of this fact, and would always choose the council over their friendship.
This prevents Anakin from fully trusting Obi-Wan, and builds a lot of resentiment from his end. I think lots of bad things could've been avoided if only Obi-Wan were more open with his feelings towards Anakin (brotherly feelings).

I never mentioned romantic love. I like slash but these two are family. Besides, Anakin's great love is and always will be Padmé. Someone has to be deluded to think otherwise.
This is really fantastic. Obi Wan is trying to help but it’s not at all what Anakin wanted or needed to hear. Padme is all Anakin cares about but his Jedi responsibilities simply forbid any romance between them. Moments like this must have left a deep frustration boiling within Anakin.
I love where they got with the animation style. This was awesome.
People say Obi-Wan was like a brother to Anakin, I say he was more like the father he never had. This scene proves my point.
I'd say the bond goes as far but I'd say he's more like an older brother who takes a parental role.

You know a lot of problems could have been avoided if Anakin had come clean about his marriage to Padme in this moment. After all Obi Wan just openly admitted to him about his feelings for Satine. That would have been a perfect moment to actually open up and have a heart to heart with them. Because Obi Wan did genuinely want to help him.
Am I the only one who thinks that this was a golden, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Anakin to tell Obi-Wan about Padme? Obi-Wan seemed to be acting more reasonable and lenient on Anakin about the anti-emotions rule.
It’s so sad that you could visibly SEE that Anakin wanted to be able to talk about this stuff openly… But when Obi-Wan told him he had to put his feelings aside, he closed off further, caught between his feelings for Padme and the threat of isolation should the order (the only thing he had left) find out and remove him from their ranks.
No wonder there was so much resentment for Palpatine to feed on. All he needed was somebody who he could rely on and didn’t feel the need to put on airs about.
and that's when he learned the truth, but it was still technically a hunch.

This reminds me of the excellent line from Revenge of the Sith (that was sadly cut) where Obi-Wan tells Padmé that he is not blind although he has tried very hard to be for Anakin's sake. He goes on to say that he knew about them but also knew how happy it made Anakin and as such let it happen.
You can see how close obi wan is to getting anakin to tell him but he always messes it up at the end

That little hesitation Anakin felt at the end, he wants to tell Obi Wan everything. He's like a father to him and he just wants that side of him but he can't, because of the order and it's dogmatic view of the force. Anakin should've quit the order
I always saw this scene as obi wan more trying to tell him “look if your gunna do this try not to make it so much obvious” than him saying he can’t.

I think a reason that Obi wan let anakin have padme and his marriage is because he wanted anakin to have what he could never have with Satine.

anakin was also an unusual case, and struggled with trauma the other jedi never had to experience as children. imo obi-wan simply came the conclusion that even if forbidden his relationship would likely be better for his mental well-being than trying to stay strict to the jedi teachings and probably wouldn't result in any issues besides a possible conflict of interest on a mission. obviously we know how it goes but none of the jedi knew sidious was in their midst and obviously none suspected he would try to groom anakin as his next apprentice when Dooku was already present up until the very end of the war.

I honestly believe that deep down Obi-Wan knew. But was just in denial the whole time.
Forbidding people from having feelings is as ridiculous as it is impossible (at least for humans). Denying your feelings doesn't make them go away and attempting to repress them is damaging to your mental health and well being. It's far better to be a well balanced individual that embraces their emotions but doesn't allow them to control their thinking or actions. That's the lesson the jedi should have been teaching.

That's all well and good until you have an outside force(The Force) that amplifies your emotions and emotional responses. With great power comes great responsibility, and to the Jedi that is a way of life. Either control your emotions or they could end up controlling you.
Are you seriously gonna tell an order that lasted for hundreds of years how they should teach their younglings? They had their methods and if you didn't like it you could leave at any time. Anakin could've left if he wanted
The force is too sensitive for the emotions as anger/hatred combined with the force makes you extremely dangerous. It's not "impossible" at all as Jedi have been doing for thousands of years in training. Jedi don't teach the lesson that which you're saying at all right now because the force doesn't comply with human emotions naturally as the force is too dangerous. Jedi practice stoicism as a means to protect themselves from the terrible influence that which the dark side CAN do, that's what you're not understanding right now on WHY Jedi push to massive extremes like this. And jedi training to hide away from their emotions starts EXTREMELY earlier so they can begin hiding away their emotions from themselves and especially the force.

This is the best example of why the Jedi were so flawed and vulnerable to this thing happening. Obi Wan was like his brother. Instead of hearing Anakin out in that moment he instead didn’t want to know and told him to hold his feelings inside. The Jedi temple really needed an HR office 😂
If you think about it Obi-Wan’s a bro. He knew to an extent what was going on between Anakin and Padme but he wasn’t willing to snake on him.
I like how at the end there Anakin feels guilty about the animosity between them there, like he regrets getting aggressive at Obi's reasonings
Sad how Obi-Wan was trying to open up, help, connect, and Anakin saw him only as a narc, didn't trust his master to not instantly report him to the council. Obi-Wan was trying to protect Anakin, reminding him what's at stake, but Anakin saw it only as a threat. One conversation but two completely different views on it. There's some massive distrust towards Obi-Wan there. It can't be just from the time he faked his death and the council lied to Anakin about it. Anakin's distrust of the council and the Jedi runs deeper than this.
Anakin had a massive hang up about the fact that he believed that Obi wan only took him on as a Padawan because it was Qui gon dieing wish and that Obi wan never wanted him. And it didn’t matter how many times Obi wan told Anakin that he didn’t just take him on because of his promise to too Qui gon and that he cared about Anakin . Anakin still thought that Obi wan didn’t want him Anakin was so insecure deep down.
@@ladysatinekenobi8723 The Clovis arcs are the only times The Clone Wars series actually does Anakin right. The rest of the time, he's a different character from the real Anakin Skywalker that's shown in the movies, the Tartakovski series and the Expanded Universe.
This scene was brilliant. Obi-Wan confronting Anakin and as the conversation gets deeper he sits and turns his back to Anakin, like people do when they're having a really uncomfortable conversation and aren't able to look the person in the eye. It's just voiced and directed really well.

You really feel that gap of insight when it comes to discussing relationships here. Obi-Wan knows about Anakin and Padme, and he knows in his heart that it's not really wrong for Jedi to form attachments like that, but because of the Jedi's zero-tolerance policy he just doesn't have the necessary wisdom and insight to really help Anakin here because it was never taught to him.

anyone catch that starfighter model Anakin was holding? looked like the usual jedi starfighters but it had the hexagonal wing flaps from the interceptors. I wonder why we never saw it in action?

I like the little details of Anakin's quarters. it's kinda messy, with stacks of boxes he never bothered to fully unpack or store properly. He also had model ships and a Podracing poster, showing his love for flying and watching sports.
Obi-Wan knew how he felt about her. Giving him and relationship arc with Satine only adds more depth to the fact that he understands what Anikan must be going through. But unlike Obi Wan, Anikan is lacks the self control his master has, and despite his best efforts to coach his apprentice Obi Wan failed to really teach him how to let go of those feelings. If Qui Gon never died Anikan’s ability to handle emotions and fear would have been much better
I love how different anakins room is from any other Jedi personal chambers. Rarely is it anything more than a bed. A meditation mat. And maybe a dresser? Meanwhile anakins room legit looks like a workshop any common person would have. Dudes got collectables, poster, hobbies. It’s great
