This chapter sits special in my heart. I’ve been self studying Japanese for about 13 years and this is the first manga chapter that I was able to read and fully understand. Such a long journey to proficiency.
I did not expect Lemillion (Mirio) to be Deku's (Midoriya) emotional anchor, now that I think about he was like a Big Brother Role Model at the Sir Night Eye hero agency and to Eri too
Midoriya managing to control his anger (albeit with help from Mirio) is a sign of how far he's come. The timid boy from the beginning of the series is no more. Out of the fires of chaos, a hero has been forged. And now our hero stands ready to unleash his inner Gohan. Next chapter cannot get here fast enough. And I must say it's so satisfying to see Shigaraki bouncing off the floor like a pinball. Also, please don't be dead Mirko!
Deku has only gotten seriously angry once before in the series and he calmed down pretty quickly once he was in the vestige world. Deku is less timid now but this is pretty much how Deku's always been. At least to me

Daym, this chapter was intense!! I love how not only does Horikoshi draw amazing art with so much time and thought put into it, but that he made this plot, and it is still evolving and growing into a beautifully made and nurtured story. I know people who say that My Hero Academia is just the same thing happening over and over again and that it's so boring, and while they aren't wrong that the LOV attacks every time, they can't tell me that it's boring when they haven't read the manga and been there to experience the emotion and development that truly makes up the story. I applaud not only Horikoshi, but Plot Armor for giving this to us!!!

I love it when we get to see the projection of the past users of OFA either as an energy aura or as past memories from AFO's POV. Hope we get to see more of this as the chapter continues. Also, I got goosebumps when the pilots were helping Deku out and that school bus line was a nice touch.
Man, when I first read this chapter I absolutely loved it. With dekus rage form showing up to his controlled emotional state declaring to afo thsy is shigaraki is still there was AMAZING. Horikoshi did this chapter well and I'm excited to see how this final fight plays out. (Though I wonder if this is the start of the end or will see the other fights play out first which I would love to see.)
the fact that deku asked if there is a differentiation between shigaraki and afo makes me think that after everything, he’s going to try and save tomura
I think his idea of saving tomura would be freeing him of afo. But I dont think he’ll let him live tho. Hori will probably make it so that tomura dies as afo leaves his body and in his last moments he thanks midoriya for freeing him from afo’s shackles
12:00 I think this is symbolic and is supposed to represent the fact that Deku is going to use his skill with the other quirks to fight Shigaraki. After all these are the past users WITH quirks.
I think we do need to account for how long bakugo is dead. I mean he’ll probably come back for sure. But, I think he could possibly end up with some brain damage. If his heart had stopped for long enough that could happen. But it’s shonen. Medical accuracy is a myth.
There’s also Eri, who can literally rewind time. I have a feeling that if Bakugo can at least remain alive for long enough to get help from Eri, he will come back at 100%. Hell, she might be able to use Rewind on him even if he does actually die. Who knows what the limits to her power are.
Deku handling this like a Goat. I feel like Deku beating Shigarakis ass with controlled anger would be cooler than the typical rage scene we normally see. The way adult gon beat on Pitou without saying a word. Apart from Ja Jan Ken. Need Deku to bash all for one like that without yelling. Just calmly saying “smash”. No Detroit, no Delaware, just smash

Thing to take to note is that Even IF Bakugo some how manages to survive his body and internal organs are more or less shredded he'd be lucky to crawl from point A to B or even have the energy to even move at all after all the severe strain his body has been put through. After all he's still human the human body has limitations on how much pain and suffering it can handle until it just starts to break down from the internal damage physical stress and mental fatigue endured over time. I'm kind of physical proof of that as I managed to pull my back after heavy lifting day in and day out doing repairs to my home after all the bad storms we had in my area. The stress to my body finally took it's toll and I collapsed from the pain. It took me about a month and a half to heal enough to be able to move normal-ish again but my doc forbade me from heavy lifting for the next three months as a result. My point is that given the damage Bakugo has sustained he's NOT going anywhere or going to be in any condition to be remotely useful to anybody. Him simply breathing at this point would be a win in his book at this point. The sheer amount of internal damage he's sustained is on par with Miriko's physical damage frankly and that ain't good. Also incase anyone is wondering I'm at about 60% healed myself, I'm still taking it easy though as this experience has not been pleasant, what makes it worse is that my aunt also recieved a back and foot injury from falling THROUGH the garage ceiling..So it hasn't been a fun time for either of us.. Sometimes the universe can be a real douchebag ya know?

If he takes any more blows, won't it be the end of him? so i wish he stayed dead Because being alive and standing on the ground without doing anything is worse than dying. And it seems so unreasonable for him to stand up and fight while his body is in this state. Even if he fights, he is not in a position to take any blow.
It would be better if he had died, honestly, not because I don't like the character, he's my favorite in fact, but because him ACTUALLY DYING would have more positive impact on the world itself when you consider its poor opinion of him as a whole at first. As heroes left and abandoned, he DIED on the battle field. Now its, "He became critically wounded from the battle." Like, he was already known to be a dude looking for a fight and able to fight, and even likely to fight the big dogs, but him DYING? While other heroes were there? That'd have much more impact because none of them would expect the "villain-like" hero to die trying to hold back the big bad along side heroes, and be one of the ONLY ones to die. His character growth we could want would be overshadowed by the world impact, I think, personally.
I’m glad to see Deku can control and actually utilize his rage instead of going berserk with it now. I can’t wait for the next chapter so we can see how much stronger he gets while using it.
One of the best chapters! Midoriya's reaction seeing everyone injured and possibly killed was handle very maturely. I like how at fist it looks as if he's going to lose his cool and go all berserk, like he did before at the beginning of the war arc, but due to his previous experiences and Miro comforting him, Midoriya learned to keep calm and still fight. I'm glad Horokoshi didn't repeat the cliché of the anime protagonist losing his cool and going berserk. DON'T GET ME WRONG! Those ideas are AWESOME! I love those moments from other anime protagonists like Naruto, Goku, Luffy, Ichigo Asta. Hell, like I mentioned before, even Midoriya went through that during the beginning of the war arc. But I like how Horokoshi didn't repeat that same concept again. And it shows us how much Midoriya has grown since then. When it comes to developing characters, Horokoshi never disappoints. This was indeed, a good chapter, and now that Midoriya has finally entered the fray, things are about to get even more interesting!
I am happy deku controlled his power deku has been my favorite my hero academia character I don't know why they say really this character but I don't care I love deku he will always be my favorite character in my hero academia and I can't wait for the final battle I hope they save the world GO DEKU 💖
Have all of you forgotten what was said when Katsuki was killed? Next to him, the words "end of dreams". Who's dreams ended, Katsuki's? No, while I'm unsure HOW his revival works, I still think it might have referred to somone else. Because this battle might be the end of Izuku's dreams...
@@SchardaMonique I don't think so, Nighteye's quirk doesn't work like that, his quirk can't give him specific visions of the future, and remember that the future isn't set in stone, technically, Nighteye only sees the currently most possible future, not the definitive one. Plus, he can only see ONE persons future per time, and he was looking at Mirio. More importantly, he said that All Might would die fighting a villain, right? What if he didn't see All Might's fate, but the fate of OFA.
It's cool and all that he managed to retain control of himself... ...but I must admit I am a little disappointed of not seeing Shigaraki being faced with a completely enraged OFA user with full access to its previous wielders' Quirks. Oh well.
N eh…that wouldn’t make sense with his development if he would’ve been fighting enrage, because he already did that in the war arc it’s not point of him doing it again if he already developed as a character since then, it’s good he controlled it. It makes sense

I was saying it would be cool to see a user of OFA with all other users' Quirks being fully enraged, which, by the way, he *wasn't* in the War Arc. That's all. 1) He didn't have access to all six Quirks when he fought back then. 2) Bakugo was not dead on the ground with everyone else grievously injured around Deku. If you think he was enraged earlier, it would have been insignificant compared to how ungodly infuriated he would have been without Mirio here. ...So, yeah. No offense, but the goal here was not 'to make sense'. It was 'it would have been cool to see X'.

ThE title is "deku vs AFO" shigaraki isn't called shigaraki, he's called AFO. He's lost control of his body completely, he's now just referred to AFO now.
I wouldn't say Shigaraki isn't completely gone, he and AFO are just merged. They're both in that body, Shigaraki isn't completely gone until AFO's main body is destroyed and the merge is complete
I love it how Deku is sing so strong to fight all for one and Tomura Shigaraki. I know he will be victorious and I don’t think Bakugo is truly dead I think he will be revived at some point.

Let’s get into this chapter shall we? Starting off, we got SaS’s squad coming to get Deku to vault off them to get to AFS. This is freaking straight from the Amazing Spider-Man I swear. The part where they line up the cranes to fight the Lizard. Which now that I say that, actually is pretty fitting for Shigaraki considering the replenishing limbs. To see Mirio CRYING that Deku made it was such a fantastic touch. For the guy that does nothing but inspire hope to be inspired by an even greater light. Mirio might be the sun. Deku is a blue star, baby! Burns brighter, hotter, bigger…and goes out faster. Hearing AFS say is he stronger than before? Has me even FURTHER believe my OFA theory is correct, because AFS has been hit by 100% OFA by Deku BEFORE, and if my theory is correct, his 100% has increased with his control, and fa jin is the short cut to control what he’s unlocked without recoil. So AFS’ response is both calm, and confused. It’s why the Muscular fight round 2 is so important. To show JUST how much has changed. It’s also IMMENSELY satisfying to see AFS flopping like a Ragdoll (not the hero) all the way into an electric fence. But it’s followed by what I’ve been fearing this whole time. AFS is still REALLY confident he can break his spine WITHOUT QUIRKS, and prodding for an emotional breakdown. And despite the fact no one has OFFICIALLY died yet, there’s no one left. None of them are moving, and it’s technically “Deku’s” fault they’re in this shape. Including Bakugo. And his eyes are cold and empty once more. He’s relapsed into the pain of the rogue arc. Just like that. This pain is a permanent scar. Mirio might relax him from throwing a power fit, but holding it back might arguably be WORSE. And I’m still all but certain he’s STILL down the prime of OFA. (The only time Deku is compared is by Deku himself when he’s in the state of a breakdown and All-Might is trying and failing to force words he needs to hear but can’t just like Nighteye in their fight 6 years ago.) But most importantly to say this, if he’s not expelling his emotional pain, he’s holding it back. And that’ll cause him to die by heartbreak if he remains like this. I would know. The same emotional state almost killed me too. But EVERYONE is a sobbing mess at this point. Monoma’s eyes are killing him, Aizawa is a sobbing mess, Manual is crying, THIS WHOLE FIGHT HAS HAPPENED IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES FOR MONOMA TO NOT HAVE LOST ERASURE YET. THIS IS GOING TO BE A 10 MINUTE ERASURE. But that last ominous shot of Deku’s cold eyes and every holder of OFA appearing behind him. Except All-Might, and the 1st. As if All-Might still has something to give. (Since that’s what the 1st symbolizes, the power to give quirks, and we haven’t seen the 1st since he “sensed” the return of AFO’s body.) I’m so looking forward to this…but holy hell is this a lot of painful reminders too.

This reminds me of something like how we saw gohan in the latest movie. Deku fighting with controlled rage like how gohan did with his beast form

If he takes any more blows, won't it be the end of him? so i wish he stayed dead Because being alive and standing on the ground without doing anything is worse than dying. And it seems so unreasonable for him to stand up and fight while his body is in this state. Even if he fights, he is not in a position to take any blow.

It would be better if he had died, honestly, not because I don't like the character, he's my favorite in fact, but because him ACTUALLY DYING would have more positive impact on the world itself when you consider its poor opinion of him as a whole at first. As heroes left and abandoned, he DIED on the battle field.
Now its, "He became critically wounded from the battle."
Like, he was already known to be a dude looking for a fight and able to fight, and even likely to fight the big dogs, but him DYING? While other heroes were there? That'd have much more impact because none of them would expect the "villain-like" hero to die trying to hold back the big bad along side heroes, and be one of the ONLY ones to die.
His character growth we could want would be overshadowed by the world impact, I think, personally.

I’m glad to see Deku can control and actually utilize his rage instead of going berserk with it now. I can’t wait for the next chapter so we can see how much stronger he gets while using it.

One of the best chapters! Midoriya's reaction seeing everyone injured and possibly killed was handle very maturely. I like how at fist it looks as if he's going to lose his cool and go all berserk, like he did before at the beginning of the war arc, but due to his previous experiences and Miro comforting him, Midoriya learned to keep calm and still fight. I'm glad Horokoshi didn't repeat the cliché of the anime protagonist losing his cool and going berserk. DON'T GET ME WRONG! Those ideas are AWESOME! I love those moments from other anime protagonists like Naruto, Goku, Luffy, Ichigo Asta. Hell, like I mentioned before, even Midoriya went through that during the beginning of the war arc. But I like how Horokoshi didn't repeat that same concept again. And it shows us how much Midoriya has grown since then. When it comes to developing characters, Horokoshi never disappoints. This was indeed, a good chapter, and now that Midoriya has finally entered the fray, things are about to get even more interesting!
I am happy deku controlled his power deku has been my favorite my hero academia character I don't know why they say really this character but I don't care I love deku he will always be my favorite character in my hero academia and I can't wait for the final battle I hope they save the world GO DEKU 💖

@@SchardaMonique I don't think so, Nighteye's quirk doesn't work like that, his quirk can't give him specific visions of the future, and remember that the future isn't set in stone, technically, Nighteye only sees the currently most possible future, not the definitive one. Plus, he can only see ONE persons future per time, and he was looking at Mirio. More importantly, he said that All Might would die fighting a villain, right? What if he didn't see All Might's fate, but the fate of OFA.

@@Zaeyeager Making sense has nothing to do with my point, nor being good or not. I was saying it would be cool to see a user of OFA with all other users' Quirks being fully enraged, which, by the way, he *wasn't* in the War Arc. That's all.
1) He didn't have access to all six Quirks when he fought back then.
2) Bakugo was not dead on the ground with everyone else grievously injured around Deku. If you think he was enraged earlier, it would have been insignificant compared to how ungodly infuriated he would have been without Mirio here.
...So, yeah. No offense, but the goal here was not 'to make sense'. It was 'it would have been cool to see X'.

ThE title is "deku vs AFO" shigaraki isn't called shigaraki, he's called AFO. He's lost control of his body completely, he's now just referred to AFO now.
I wouldn't say Shigaraki isn't completely gone, he and AFO are just merged. They're both in that body, Shigaraki isn't completely gone until AFO's main body is destroyed and the merge is complete

Let’s get into this chapter shall we?
Starting off, we got SaS’s squad coming to get Deku to vault off them to get to AFS. This is freaking straight from the Amazing Spider-Man I swear. The part where they line up the cranes to fight the Lizard. Which now that I say that, actually is pretty fitting for Shigaraki considering the replenishing limbs.
To see Mirio CRYING that Deku made it was such a fantastic touch. For the guy that does nothing but inspire hope to be inspired by an even greater light. Mirio might be the sun. Deku is a blue star, baby! Burns brighter, hotter, bigger…and goes out faster.
Hearing AFS say is he stronger than before? Has me even FURTHER believe my OFA theory is correct, because AFS has been hit by 100% OFA by Deku BEFORE, and if my theory is correct, his 100% has increased with his control, and fa jin is the short cut to control what he’s unlocked without recoil. So AFS’ response is both calm, and confused. It’s why the Muscular fight round 2 is so important. To show JUST how much has changed.
It’s also IMMENSELY satisfying to see AFS flopping like a Ragdoll (not the hero) all the way into an electric fence.
But it’s followed by what I’ve been fearing this whole time. AFS is still REALLY confident he can break his spine WITHOUT QUIRKS, and prodding for an emotional breakdown. And despite the fact no one has OFFICIALLY died yet, there’s no one left. None of them are moving, and it’s technically “Deku’s” fault they’re in this shape. Including Bakugo. And his eyes are cold and empty once more. He’s relapsed into the pain of the rogue arc. Just like that. This pain is a permanent scar. Mirio might relax him from throwing a power fit, but holding it back might arguably be WORSE. And I’m still all but certain he’s STILL down the prime of OFA. (The only time Deku is compared is by Deku himself when he’s in the state of a breakdown and All-Might is trying and failing to force words he needs to hear but can’t just like Nighteye in their fight 6 years ago.) But most importantly to say this, if he’s not expelling his emotional pain, he’s holding it back. And that’ll cause him to die by heartbreak if he remains like this. I would know. The same emotional state almost killed me too.
But EVERYONE is a sobbing mess at this point. Monoma’s eyes are killing him, Aizawa is a sobbing mess, Manual is crying, THIS WHOLE FIGHT HAS HAPPENED IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES FOR MONOMA TO NOT HAVE LOST ERASURE YET. THIS IS GOING TO BE A 10 MINUTE ERASURE.
But that last ominous shot of Deku’s cold eyes and every holder of OFA appearing behind him. Except All-Might, and the 1st. As if All-Might still has something to give. (Since that’s what the 1st symbolizes, the power to give quirks, and we haven’t seen the 1st since he “sensed” the return of AFO’s body.) I’m so looking forward to this…but holy hell is this a lot of painful reminders too.
