Same doubts, insecurities, shortcomings, and WEAKNESSES that all men have. Here's the difference though. That dude who wakes up as Jocko everyday could have the smoothest,easiest life. He's got money. A beautiful wife. Beautifull kids. He's got respect from others. He could chill. But then he wouldn't respect himself. So jocko wakes up. Realizes he doesn't have to literally do anything. He's got it made. and then he proceeds to get after it.
But he does have to get after it if he wants to maintain the good life he is having. Discipline equals freedom. If he stops being disciplined in his life, problems will start to appear that weren’t there before. Of course, he also knows there are always areas for improvement, so he’s working at those things too. It’s just not true that you can “have it made” and then just sit back and do nothing but eat ice cream until the end of your days and have everything stay as it is.
The little speech Echo does at the end is similar to the speech Jocko did when he gave Echo his black belt. Idk which was referring to which but its cool either way.
True. That's why me and my favorite training partner became close friends. We're about the same age, I'm slightly taller and heavier but he has more experience than I do. But we roll and have fun with it, we try new things, he's more creative meanwhile I like to stick to the basics. Like yin and yang

Jiu jitsu is much easier when your big . I remember rolling at 115lbs bodyweight with a 280lbs bodyweight training partner both white belts. Safe to say I trained no offense in that session
I been in a funk about going to BJJ for about 3 weeks always telling myself I’m gonna go. Im motivated to get my blue belt so I can start striking but something in me just keeps me from going. It’s been three weeks but I have twins sons (they just turned one) and I feel family is keeping me from going most the time but also it’s a bit of myself that uses them as an excuse. Is this normal? Any tips from parents training BJJ would be appreciated. Even if you’re not a parent and have something similar distracting. I know TH-cam isn’t the best place for advice but I feel the BJJ fam has my back.
