- A modern Jiu-Jitsu black belt must be able to both wrestler standing and grapple on the ground, he must be capable of attack the upper body and the lower body, he must be an expert in both positional escapes and submission escapes, he must be able to both pin and transition.
The above well describes Tristar Gym's newest black Pierre-Olivier Leclerc, P.O started his journey as a white belt at the Tristar gym and now in early 2023 has received his well deserved black belt.

Loved the energy in the room when he showed that black belt. Gotta be a good group and a great gym to get such reaction. Guys are genuinely glad for each other. Great to see. Congrats.

This was a surreal moment. I've walked into Tristar Gym 8.5 years ago as a first day white belt and now I'm proud to be a Zahabi/Tristar Gym black belt.
Congratulations on earning the black belt 👏
What...so fast...I guess Zahabi is selling belts now. 😉
Congrats
Hey man congrats
congrats p.o
Belt promotion day is the best! Congrats to everyone that leveled up.
Aa.. Number 1 coach in MMA! BY FAR! MaashAllah
Wow to be a black belt under coach Zahabi or John Danaher takes a life time commitment
Congratulations 🎊 👏
that lock when he hugged you shows he a real one
Le moment où coach zahabi sort la noire! 🙌
Congratulations on all your hard work and dedication guys!!
Very happy for PO! Love these ceremonies, thank for the share
The first Blue belt resembles Rener Gracie haha. Congrats to all the promotions!! OSS!!🤙🏽
Congrats everyone !
Congratulations every body 👍
At least a decent gym where people don't beat you with belts after getting a new belt.
@@user-yu3pp6uv8r Plenty of gyms. Maybe someone knows where the tradition comes from.
best mma coach alive
Bro hugged him with a gable grip 😂
I love when you describe what the black belt should look like. Amazing moment. Thank you UUSSSS
Maybe someday. Congrats to all those dudes
Seems like there's a good culture in that gym.
Go try it for few days, it will become story telling for you experiencing many moments with your friends. Plus, they have everything to accomodate you if its far away from you. Seriously if you are in Montreal and you never went to the tri-star once, to me you are not a MMA fan. 😝
If you go make a review i will share it on my side. Think about it man. Hehe Peace
One day one day one day i ll get there
Well deserved to all ✅✅
Awesome!!!!!
"Thank you, Coach" > Bodylock > Suplex

I am so happy to get my Blackbelt from coach Zahabi
😬
Didn’t even know their names 😂
Coach, do you think belt promotions are necessary in a no gi only gym?
eh coach am going to get my blue belt soon because i showed up for class, haha i know you dont like the mcdojo xD
Sorry but don’t step on a black belt, or any belt for that matter. Dragging them on the floor ?
Islam would like to verify their credentials lmao
Is this guy for real? WOW, the blue belts must feel like shit! Take care on each person, horrendous duty of care on display here. Sad to see.
Lol noobs, i have red belt 🤫
🤣
The way they tie the belts very sloppy.
It's yoo bad, anyone gives belts nowadays and no respect for BJJ.
Why tie the belts on a no Gi uniform???
Got some serious good vibes from this video, anyone got advice for someone whos been putting off their 1st class because of social worries?
I’ve been training since 2008 and I still get nerves because of social anxiety. You just have to kill your mind, breath, and do it. Once you’re doing it you’ll have a great time.
if you can, take someone with you , you can trust for the beginning. I believe in you man ❤️
in my experience, the only thing you should do is swallow your emotions and just remember why you're doing it
the rest is peanuts
There are tons of new guys with the same worries. Everyone is friendly, and with time as you get to know more people it gets better
I get social anxiety too before each class but by the end you feel great. It's a case of getting your foot out the door and turning up until it's a habit then reminding yourself that each time it will be fine like the previous
