A cute detail is that at 8:32 he says "This is a gift, you know. Thank you, I won't forget it."
He says the exact same thing when you let him drink blood from you the first night he reveals he's a vampire.

I can't, this is so touching. Especially remembering the "bad" ending version of this dialogs. In this ending he can truly be free from centuries of torture and misery, he can love and be loved. I love this so much 🥲
I find this ending a bit sad. When tav dies, he will be alone 😢

@@ShiveriaI would hope that over time he would be allowed/allow himself to start healing, and learn how to form normal healthy relationships with people, so that even after Tav is gone, he’ll still be able to go forward in his life.
Or you could just play an elf. I’m pretty sure he’s only in his 200’s so you’d still have plenty of time with him.

I know nothing about this game but I’ve been seeing this character everywhere and now I get why he seems to be everybody’s favorite.
I normally don't play games like this character made me buy it and God damn it is one of the best games I have ever played if you have an interest I as an internet stranger who knows absolutely nothing about you

@@IneffableChild Same😭 I have no idea about Baldur's Gate, but thanks to a funny video about killing and resurrecting Astarion popping up in my recommend, I fell in love with his voice and now I'm down the Astarion rabbit hole.
I love the detail the voice actor puts to make Astarion think over his words. It really shows how hard he's trying to voice out his freedom to speak his feelings out. I think this is the one game I like that makes a character not feel so 2-D and actually adds depth to their character. Surely because he's so dramatic and bratty and flirtatious everybody makes him out to be a complete man whore, but I totally appreciate the choices ro deflect his offers and try to befriend him. And when you reject his offers and try to be his friend he appreciates how you humanize him. But if you sleep with him and offer him the chance to enjoy sex for his *own* pleasure he leaves you when he reflects his own worth. He's got to be my favorite vampire character ever!

I absolutely LOVE the facial expressions at 0:42 and 0:57. I don't think I've seen any games where the eyes themselves are so naturally expressive without _exclusively_ animating/capturing eyebrow movement.
There's a cure for vampirism in 5e so in my headcanon Astarion and Tav set off to find one for him after the game 😭

I am really sad and scared to reach the end of the game. Astarion will be stuck forever in it, no way to keep seeing him beyond it.

Scenes like this are why I'll fight to the death any DnD dudebro who INSISTS alignments don't change or that Astarion HAS to be evil just because of what he is.
something i find really cute is that if i am not wrong, the music that plays over the cutscene is the same as the default camp one, and the soundtrack is called "i want to live", pretty fitting right? also if you lsiten to the lyrics of that oen track is 100% reads as an Astarion love song

I play as a female Paladin and choosed the Astarion romance. I loved it and it seems as a holy Pala, it was my destiny to slay down Cazador and free my cocky vampire boy. Thanks Larian for this amazing adventure.
Awww I LOVE this ending. Astarion is so sweet and sexy. Literally the perfect vampire romance! That’s actually healthy! Larian really outdid themselves with this game. 💚

I feel like its the canon romance of the game considering how big of a mascot astarion is for the game. Litterly the biggest character on the cover art, front and center. Even made a whole april fools joke with him.

hehehe thank you! & if you mean the armour my Tav is wearing: it’s from one of the wardrobes in Cazador’s Palace! I’ve put it as the camp attire, and then toggled the setting that displays that over the regular armour. I’ll find out the specific name when I load up the game in a bit. but if u mean the armour Astarion is wearing: it’s his starting gear that he has on when you first meet him. c:

Sulphur tone 6 gives a really nice deep golden tanned look, you just have to make sure you toggle the "all skin colours" option, it looks super nice on my sexy male half elf, especially with freckles ^.^

The dialogue in this game is terrible. Far too on the nose. Have these writers never heard of subtext? I appreciate what the actors _tried_ to do with it but there's only so much that can be done with this quality of material to work with. Yeesh
