Winter 100 mile Adventure - London to Margate

- In January we set off to get in a winter adventure. In freezing temperatures and finding adventure right from the city, we set off on a 100mile gravel adventure out to the coast and to Margate.
This was Ben Biddells' first 100miles and on his new bike, we giggled all the way!
I know I have not posted a film for a while, so please enjoy these few short edits why I work upon some bigger adventure stories for you all.
Happy Pedalling
Yay! Barry's back 🙂
Haha, thanks Alastair!
Seeing 100 miles come up on the head unit is the best feeling of achievement. 3 years ago last week me and a good friend rode a 100 mile coast to coast (our own route, Tynemouth to Silloth along Hadrian's Wall). It was the final training ride before we drove to Cornwall to start the Tornado Tribute Tour of England, a memorial ride to commemorate the lives lost in the 91 Gulf War (in its 30th anniversary year). 675 miles over 10 days from St Eval to Washington via Birmingham and East Anglia, with memorial stops along the way. Happy memories (and we raised over £43k for charity!).
Missed you buddy , that smile and laugh❤

Great to see another video from you Barry. Enthusiastic as always, even in a very cold January 😊
Great video Barry and it takes some doing to get out on a Winter's day and ride your bike, never mind riding 100 Miles! Excellent!
Yeah was a great way to start the year!!! Really felt like making the most of life! And that sunrise was soooo worth being up for
Love it
Thanks so much Will

great video and well done getting that ride in when it was so cold - those fish and chips must have really hit the spot! nice one Barry :)
Thanks so much!! Yeah was a rather long way for fish and chips haha, best thing was having a back warmer whilst they were in my bag for a moment haha
@@barrygodin7538 :) best thing about my last big ride was the fish and chips when I got home - double bonus for you and your mate getting food and warming up the body too!! ride on!
Well Done Guys 👍
Thanks very much!!
So happy to see a video from you Barry! ❤
Sorry for the break :-) another small film this week, and then i need to get stuck into some big edits again
What a nice surprise, been way too long Barry. I thought you had taken up fishing or something. 😂😂 It's strange to see you riding around home and not in the hills. Take it easy and keep them coming, what an amazing days riding 👍👍👍🚵🏽
Welcome back Barry, long overdue.Great video as ever.
Thanks so much Andy!!! Sorry for the break
Nice one, Barry. A pleasant addition to this evenings viewing!
Thanks, yes nothing epic, but promise If I crack on with editing, I have many epic films to come :-)
welcome back Barry! ✌🏻😁
Thanks so much
Great to see you back, and riding down to my old stomping ground in Thanet. Really enjoy your videos.
Thanks Paul! Yeah beautiful down there!
Welcome back…missed your travels.
Thanks Andy! :-)
Great video Barry. What I love, is your undeniable love for simply cycling. It's not about how fast you get there, it's about the journey and taking it all in and having fun along the way. Ride a good few miles, stop re-fuel, ride a good few miles, stop re-fuel and repeat. Looking forward to the next video. Oh, one thing, you don't happen to have the GPX for this ride do you? I'm Reigate way and ride to Putney a few times, using the Thames path etc from Kingston, and getting to Kingston via Boxhill/Leatherhead mostly off road, so would like to combine that with this route and ride it slowly and in sections.
Thanks Barry, good to see you again, any plans for Scotland?
Hey! Many!!! But had a loaded bike at the end of last year, but a cancelled train 😢 but have two other Scotland adventures to edit :-)
Bout time Barry. Pull yer finger out and give us more content yer lazy dog. Joking aside, I was wondering where you’d got to. Great vid and what a sunrise. I love an early start and riding into the day.
Glad your back!
Thanks!!!! Thanks for waiting :-)
Love the route to Rochester, rode it probably too many times, may repeat it again after watching this :)
I think Ed you were the inspiration here :-) we sooo need to hook up for a ride soon
Good to see you back Barry, love it!!
Thanks so much Ian!
