I don't know if you study history with frequency, but many buildings in Europe dates from Middle Ages or even before. There is houses, still inhabitated, in Scotland and England dating from early Middle Ages.
In Jersey, a small british isle near France, there is the La Hougue Bie, which is a neolithic grave from 4500 BC that was later used as a church in 1200 and a bunker in World War II and now it is a museum

As a Scot I've been to Yester Castle many times and visited Goblin Ha'. Thanks for including Scotland in your itinerary. You'll both enjoy our country I'm sure and there are many places just as iconic a Yester Castle. Enjoy your stay Michael and Jessica and don't let the rain spoil it for you. We need to isolate and enhance the voices to see what they are saying.. When i heard them, i thought for sure someone else was there like a care taker who saw them go in and was about to tell them to get out… or a tour group showed up. But to find it wasn’t anybody was freaky to say the least.

Darkness : Ah, Blix. Come closer.
Blix : You summoned me, lordship?
Darkness : Are you not the most, loathsome of my goblins?
      Blix : Truly, master.
Darkness : And is your heart black, and full of hate?
Blix : Black as midnight, black as pitch, blacker than the foulest witch.

@amandanelson3345 I screen recorded it to try and make it out. The voice you can hear talking happens in my bedroom all of the time, but it's a woman's voice, not a man's. I see her walking around in here all of the time, and she constantly tugs on my blanket and taps on my feet. She also stands in my bathtub and moves the shower curtain when I'm sitting on the toilet. I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me. She likes waking me up.

The tunnel reminds me of an oubliette. A dark, tight, and horrifying place where people were left alone to die. The oubliette was the most feared part of a castle dungeon. If you look at the walls and ceiling of the tunnel, they are intact. It's like the rubble was piled up to make the place more horrible.

2:24 Possibly a 'milestone'--literally. These used to mark the distance between villages, towns and cities. Some still stand today.
5:26 I'm getting Hobbit/Necromancer vibes from this aspect of the site.
This ruin was NEVER a church; this structure was Built to Last: the stone courses change colour, as they tower over you.
22:12 to 22:35 Voices! Or, a VOICE, male, with a Scottish lilt! Woah. 'He' was right there with you, Michael. Uncanny!
26:36 These voices sound like the murmuring of pigeons (although no tell-tale defecation can be seen here). And it appears that only Michael heard them, in the moment!

Okay! Wow, Wow, and Wow. Thank you for going into that castle. Voices, Whoa! Was someone outside? OMG! So excited, I was when you went down the stairs, then the claustrophobia set in. Yikes. So cool it was open. Oh, and that stream and bridge. Magical!

Jessica looks so cute and bundled up lol. I adore her childlike wonder and giggle 😊.
How do you choose your next destinations aka adventures?
Oh man I was getting serious anxiety for you both down there. I'm holding my breath 🫁 and didn't even realize. I was scared for you both, thinking what if that tunnel collapsed because it's 756yrs old 😬. When you two were scaling the side of the hill to get to the tunnel, I was getting dizzy 😵‍💫🫨.

the year 1267 ?... the time of sir william wallace?... wow... seeing Jessica standing in the archway made me think.. how many people on horseback, kings soldiers, good guys, bad guys braveheart types have passed through there over the centuries.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 love it!.. n thank you!

Very cool! I bet you'll never think of the phrase "walking history" the same ever again. You can't get anymore historical than walking into a castle built in 1267, amazing. Did you figure out anything about those voices? And did you hear them while you were there? Or not until you watch the video back? Fantastic tour for this time of year. Happy Halloween!!! 👻👻👻☠️☠️☠️ Stay safe.❤️❤️❤️

That was so freaking awesome, Micheal and Jessica 💯 I love stuff like that, History, absolutely fascinating, for something, that was built in the 13th century, and is 700 years, it's in pretty good condition, if I was out there, I'd be taking lots and lots of pictures, that's for sure lol I get carried away, with how many I take, I can't help myself 😂 I just get overwhelmed with excitement 😃😃😃

I would like to inform you that it is your respect and appreciation for the location and the goblins that kept you safe in this location. Goblins are far different from the rumors spread about us.
Also, because you seem curious, few goblin are "cute", though it's not unheard of, most goblin have sharp teeth and no goblin would ever eat human flesh. Hobgoblin are the exception, they're the ones cast out from goblin society. However it's still unheard of with them, just possible.
Also you may have gained a new spirit friend or two. If this is the case they will be surprisingly respectful and pranky at the most opportune times. though it may take some reflection or patience to understand how the pranks are beneficial.
I see great potential in you two lovely folks.
I wish you the greatest adventures with the best rewards for you.
