    Let's help each other out and share some info!
    What kind of kayak are you currently using and what's one thing you do differently regarding your setup?

    This was a very informative video Jarrid, thanks! Good for us to know what safety gear we should be carrying; man what a luxury to have a dedicated chart screen, and dedicated sonar screen! I'm splitting a 4 inch screen to display both charts and sonar. 🤥 You keep your gear immaculate, that Outback looks brand new.

      Ehhhh thanks a lot brotha! 🙏🏻 I appreciate that! Haha ya it’s certainly fun to look at but unnecessary. See, prime example, you’re one hammah on the 4 inch screen! 💪🏻🔥 No need all the fancy tech haha. Thank you, I do put a lot of time into cleaning and maintaining my gear. I’m happy to see that it shows haha! Happy New Year! I appreciate your support! 🤙🏻

    Good info! I cant wait to get my hobi. I finally got to use a jig i picked up from you and caught an uku off a friends boat using the 160g vibe red/silver. Worked like a charm!

    Great rig bro! I love my Scupper Pro but its old and been through a ton. As I started jigging more, Ill probably replace it with a Hobie. I can keep moving up current kicking rather than drifting.

      Thanks a lot brotha! Man, I give you credit, that takes a lot of hard work and skill to fish from a paddle kayak! Unreal 💪🏻
      Ya, like you said, it’s nice to be hands free while navigating. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for sharing. I have the same year kayak. My rod holder are the pvc type, so far they’ve been holding up pretty good. Your fish finder looks assume, would love to see videos on what you see while fishing.
    Keep your interesting fishing videos coming.
    Happy New Year 2025!

      Ehhhhh thanks for watching! 🙏🏻 That’s awesome! Ya in my opinion the pvc method is much more sturdy and durable. Thanks for the suggestion, I do plan to incorporate more info about that in each video so people can see what I’m looking at. Appreciate the kind words! Happy New Year to you as well! 💪🏻

    If you could only choose 3 rods and 3 reels, what would your selection be to cover as many techniques as possible? (Trolling, Slow Pitch Jigging,Live Bait, Deep Water Fishing, etc.) 🎣🎣

    • @jifishingco
      @jifishingco  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ehhhh that’s a great question! I would bring the following 3 setups
      1) Opelu Setup: Reel: Shimano Grappler Rod: Shimano Trevala
      2) Live Bait/Trolling Setup: Reel: Shimano Talica Rod: Shimano Terez
      3) Jigging Setup: Reel Shimano Ocea Jigger Rod: Shimano Game Type J
      With these three setups you can literally catch anything in the ocean. The Opelu Rod I’d run my sabiki rigs so I can either catch bait or small reef fish. I can then use the live bait on my talica to catch larger species both reef and pelagic. The jigging setup is the most versatile because it holds enough line to fish 1000 feet if I wanted and you can catch just about anything on a jig. You could even troll with that setup if you wanted because a lot of kayak guys are using jigging rods for trolling because they’re very durable and flexible, and the reel is strong enough to handle large fish. It’s not designed for trolling but you could certainly make do with it haha. Hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻

    No outriggers?

    • @jifishingco
      @jifishingco  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@96712 I personally don’t use them because I feel very stable and comfortable on the outback and like the way it handles in rough seas. I know a lot of people use them, and I think they’re great for added stability! I just feel I don’t need them at this point in my kayak fishing career. Thanks for watching!

    Are you right or left hand? I'm thinking if a should buy the ocea jigger left or righ hand lol

    • @jifishingco
      @jifishingco  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      All of my jigging reels are left handed. I can use conventional reels with my right but I don't think I'd be able to jig with my right hand haha. If you're unsure, take a spinning reel and swap the handle and try both sides to see what feels more natural!

    • @marcelfernandes5000
      @marcelfernandes5000 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@jifishingco Yep, my left hand is pretty useless. I don’t think I’ll have the coordination to jig with it. But if I hook a big fish, do you think I’ll be able to reel it in with my left hand? LOL. I’m definitely stronger with my right arm, which is why I’m thinking about getting a left-handed Ocea.
      thank you for the help, you are being very helpful

    • @jifishingco
      @jifishingco  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@marcelfernandes5000 I'm actually right handed so I prefer to hold the rod in my dominant hand because I have more strength to control it. That's why I prefer a left hand reel. I grew up bass fishing so I did a ton of casting and preferred to cast with my right hand and reel with my left. When jigging, majority of the lifting is done with your rod hand. For me thats my right, and my left does the reeling. Since jigging reels are such high gear ratios, you kinda have to pump and wind rather than wenching the fish in like you can with a low gear conventional. I would say you're best off palming the reel and controlling the rod with your dominant/strong hand, and using your non dominant hand to wind the handle. That's just my opinion though. Hope that helps!

    what is your opinion about using ecomap2 10" with GT56 for areas upto 1000 feet?
    is it worth it?

    • @jifishingco
      @jifishingco  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@mytide6474 Thanks for watching! That transducer is a high frequency transducer so it’ll provide very detailed picture in shallow water but its performance will decline once you venture out deep. I don’t think it would mark bottom in 1000. If you’re wanting to mark targets 500+ I would look at the GT23 or the GT51.
