  • In this video I will show you my new project - Wingnut wings 1/32 Junkers D.1, Part 1- Cockpit
I decided to relax a bit after my DH.2 project and to select a project with less rigging, so this will be Junkers D.1 monoplane.
Please like and subscribe to see more my builds.

Definitely the black base colour first. It adds so much more depth, variation, and interest.

Definitely agree with the black primer when top coat is color of metal. It creates a great deal of pre shading as well as,
I D K it just makes the final paint look 100 % better with black primer/base coat

Thanks Mikel, I also think so, that's why I use black base for any metallic

The D.1 is looking great so far, I look forward to the next update. I should have purchased one when I had the chance, best regards from Australia.

Thanks, yes this kit is great (as any other WnW kit), I think you can find it on-line, but the price is super crazy now

I really enjoy watching the videos you make. You put life into every model you build.
I wanted to ask you what make & model of airbrush you used in this video.
    Keep up they great work.

Thank you so much Mikel, I use a dual action Miol air brush with 0.3 mm nozzle, it's not very expensive model, but I have it for about 10 years and just used to it.

I have been looking forward to your build of the Junkers and I was not disappointed. This is clearly going to be another great model. Did you scrape off any paint on the cockpit pieces before you assembled the cockpit? I ask because it didn’t seem that you had any adhesion or fit problems when you put the cockpit together even though you had painted the components before assembly. And I definitely think that the black primer before airbrushing on the aluminum looks the best.

Hi Mark, thanks, actually I didn't scrape off any paint, bc the paint layer is very thin, so I didn't have any problems with it.

An excellent start to what will no doubt be an amazing build. You must be enjoying the detail and engineering of the WNW kit so it should be a fun build. Agree that black basing is the way to go....not just for metallic paints but as a shadow coat generally. The red seatbelt is definitely something different.....I assume it was the colour call-out in the scheme????
BTW....I recall you mentioning some time ago that, although you prefer WW1 aircraft builds, you actually build a variety of other genres. Would you consider sharing some with us or is this channel strictly devoted to WW1 aircraft builds?

Thanks. After I started to shoot videos for the FCM channel, I stopped build other than WW1 models. I only have Dauntless build, that I filmed, but I think I will not publish it here. I want to keep this channel only for WW1 planes. I, know I have PT-17 build, which is not WW1, but it's a biplane and has almost same look/technologies.

@@FlyingCircusModels Thanks you for your comment. I'm so glad that you will only focus on large scale WW1 aircraft models.....you are the only one to do so really appreciate and look forward to your videos.
