WOW! What a great job.
Thanks, Edward!!!
Bravo!
Thank you so much
I pilot would have emphasised how small this a/c is - it's crying out for a simple diorama treatment You have more patience than I!
Thanks David, it's a great idea to make small diorama o vignette, I need to find WW1 Italian pilot..
Der Hammer 😉
Good evening my friend, that was a great build, it certainly is a bit of a strange looking aircraft, very best regards from Australia, Les
Thanks Les, can you imagine, it was built during WW1, not even before...
That looks 48th haha. You did great. But boy is that thing ugly.
Thanks Will, I completely agree, it's more like 1/48 scale to me. I really like Italian designers in cars, fashion, but not in early planes lol
I enjoyed the struggle! More like 1/48 than 1/32. You did a good job .👏
Thanks Stephen!!
I almost can't watch! Please do something easier next time...something I have in the stash.....ICM I-153 (Finnish not Orc) and Gladiator (Latvia).......great job as always on this beast!
Thanks Paul, I wanted to order Chaika and Gladiator, but sellers refused to sell it to me due to our Canada post strike. I will think about ordering them later
@FlyingCircusModels Great! I'll wait for your videos lol
If it was that difficult to build, can you imagine how hard it was to fly? Talk about a flying death trap! Fabulous build of a delicate pile of sticks!
Thanks Charlie, to be honest, I can't even imagine what a pilot felt when he was flying on that thing. My motorcycle has 3 times more power than this aircraft ))
Another great build - especially as you needed to do so much remedial work to the basic kit.
Thanks Trevor, a one-week project, turned out to the 1.5 month one ;-)
Damn. You've got a hell of a lot more patience than I would have. I'm afraid that would have ended up in my trash can.
That's true Stephen, I wanted to put this away a lot of times, but I just don't like to leave things unfinished...
Outstanding build of a very unique aircraft. The rigging would have driven me nuts.
Trust me, I had the same feelings, when I did rigging on it )))
I think this is more of a scratchbuild, ha-ha. 😜 Such a tiny aircraft, even in 1/32 scale but your model looks very interesting.
Thanks Ronald, it's super small, I don't even know how it could fly))
@ 🤔
It would have been interesting to have him show it next to the Fokker DR1 that he built early in the channel's history. The Fokker is probably close to twice the wingspan.
@@t-mar9275 I would like to see that too. ☺️ 👍🏻
Awesome. I Love this aviation.
Based on this ultra fragile kit, your results are astounding, exceptional skills!
Thank you so much, Mark!!!
Beautiful plane. Never had much of a chance to shine.
It definitely was overshined by dridekker and D.VII
I have this kit in the mail... Somewhere. I can't help but notice the long struts holding the tail to the fuselage are very bendy. I assume that's a result of the plastic either from the kit or being bent by the wires? I'll be curious to see if that's an issue in mine.
Yeah, if I had this kit and was about to build it, I would replace plastic with brass tubes
I am about to start on my first WWI aircraft. You are a source of great ideas and inspiration. I hope mine turn out half as good as your brilliant finished build.
Thank you so much, Mark!! Good luck with your project, WW1 planes are awesome!
great video thanks for sharing!
Thanks
Did different versions of the SPAD have different wingtips? Also those decals look like Decagraph to me....same as Dora and ICM. Great job ....tempting to get one myself!
I believe so, SPAD XIII is improved version, so it had differences in comparison with SPAD VII
cool livery
I really like all Italian WW2 camos, more interesting than just variety of blues or greys
This video is also perfect for someone like me who is now building an ancient 72-scale model of this aircraft. By following this build, it is possible to add so many scratch-build features that are lacking in the smaller model.
Thank you for watching, 72nd scale is too small for me and I always amazed how modellers add scratch build parts, good luck with your build!!!
Perfect work 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks 🔥
I have this kit in the stash ...hope i can do some of these extras!
Good luck, Paul. This is a great kit!!!
Lovely work 👍
Thanks
Saludos
Thank you. The base color might look darker because of the light (I took my pictures in the dark room), if you take a picture of the same model outside, in the nice sunny day - it will look lighter.
@FlyingCircusModels eso pensé. Gracias, un lindo avión. Saludos desde Chile
Bravo! 👏 One of my favorite planes.
Thank you so much!
Congratulations my friend, for building another great aircraft kit, I do like this kit as it seems to be very straight forward, best regards from Australia, Les
Thank Les, yes this kit is great and it was easy to build
rivits on a cloth covering aircraft?
Based on the plans, I found online, there was a piece of plywood on the top, and cloth on the sides and wings. Of course, I might be wrong, but it's too late😀
It was covered in aluminum panels in many locations, notably around the engine and forward fuselage, like most biplanes of the period. This wasn't 1915.
@MD-qm6gy right, that's why I made some scratches on the nose, but was not sure about the tail. It could be covered with aluminum, not plywood. It's hard to judge by the plans, I saw museum restoration projects, but it wasn't covered at that time
@@FlyingCircusModels Only the sides behind the cockpit, rudder frame, and wings were covered with fabric.
Using rivets on fabric homebuilt planes is extremely common now and was used at different times throughout history.
👍👍👍
next short video the models you builded? kind regards from the Netherlands...
you already saw all my builds on this channel ;-)
@FlyingCircusModels yeah thats true i thought more how you displayed them..
nothing fancy, I just keep them in the closed boxes, to save from the dust
A Sopwith 1½ Strutter, a fantastic subject. I don't think any of the other manufacturers have made this one before. I didn't realise that the 1½ Strutter had such a large space between the two cockpits - which would have made communication between the two crew members difficult. But this is why I come to modelling sites; to see what those planes looked like in detail. I hope that the Easyline works out for you. My fear is that it will perish over time
Agree, this plane has it's own charm. I heard that EZline may perish with the time, but only if you leave it on the direct sunlight (even through the glass window) I keep my models in the plastic boxes in my basement, without any direct sunlight, fingers crossed ))
I believe that you've put the serial numbers in the wrong place. It makes no sense that the builders of the full scale originals would paint them over the lacing when there was a great big blank panel where they could have put them. Great job, otherwise
Thanks for the comment, about the serial number I made it based on the picture of the real plane ( postimg.cc/Z0MrLCGb ), and as you can see the white color line is on the same line with the tail stabilizer. even though that the picture has the angle - you can see it clearly. I have no idea why they painted it like that, but I saw a lot verities of serial number locations.
It looks strange without its engines. I imagine the glossy patches on the wings are where they used to be
I agree, it looks weird and strange, the engines were on the steel tubes, not on the wings. Those steel patches cover the joints for the tubes on the wings
Great work.. very enjoyable series.
Thank you so much!!!
I believe that the propellors on those aircraft were made of pressed steel. That's how it looks on a number of photographs I've seen, including one (or two) that you posted here. Great job, otherwise
Thank you for the comment, I don't think that the plane had a metal propeller, because then there was no point to add deflectors, that protected the propeller from the MG bullets. Moreover, all planes of that period had wooden propellers, they were easy and fast to produce, very cheap in comparison with metal ones
Wow, you have the 1/32 He-111 P kit. 😍
Yes, I do, and my hands are itching to build it
@@FlyingCircusModels 🙂👍🏻
Awesome stash! I wish I had picked up the WNW Hansa Brandenburgs before they spiraled in...
did you purchase all of W n W's excess stock?☺ very good stash, best regards from Australia, Les
Almost, yeah, I purchased a lot, when they started to sell excess last year. I wish I could buy more
I'd love to see the Felixtowe build but I think that would be a several month build
Oh, yeah it's going to be a big, even, huge project
Great.RE8,Stahltaube,Roland C11 ,Albatros B11 and Bristol please❤
I'm going to build all of them at some point😉
Another success, FCM.....epic series from start to finish....and an amazing final reveal. Thanks for sharing many tips during the build which will come in handy when I tackle this kit some time in the (near) future. I look forward to the next exciting video series :)
Thanks, Robert. I will make a full build video and the new build will be right after
Great work 😎👍
Thanks!!!
Beautifully done.
Thanks David!!!
Good evening my friend, that was another ourstanding build, congratulations on a job very well done, best regards from Australia, Les
Thank you so much Les!!!
I wonder why do you use future instead of gloss varnish and how long does it take to dry? Don't you try gx gloss varnish for instance, it dries within some minutes and you are ready to go on.
I'm surprised that gloss paints in camouflage colours weren't successful. You get good decal adhesion and eliminate the need for an intermediate gloss coat.
Future works like a gloss coat, it dries also pretty quick. I have a huge bottle and I like to use it
yeah decals are great and right now there is a trend of not using gloss coat before decals, but I do it in the old-fashoined way. Moreover, wash has to be applied only on the gloss coat...
Looks great. Another superbly detailed model. Well done.
Thank you so much Trevor!!
