It's just simple scraping plane. Great tool for removing machine marks frome wood surpace or for planing some crazy grains or veneers.. I hope you will enjoy it :) Regards!
I would like to get into building my own planes. How do you go about sourcing your blanks? I have no idea how to get quarter sawn blanks that are thick enough in almost any species, much less beach. My mill doesn't have any (unless I ordered a truckload and was prepared to wait for kiln) and I am not in a position to mill my own and dry it. Am I missing something? Thanks ahead! Also, amazing videos!!
@@andrewvanoverbeke5164 i have a problem with it also. Most of the offers of the beech blanks are too far from me, and i don't want to buy it by Internet because i can't see it. You have to keep looking, finally you will find some good and dry material :) Regards!

Thanks a lot! I really glad that you think that :) Yes, i use beech. I didn't glue it - tight fit plus fresh shellac on the tote and it wont move. Regards!
Dear Stavros, yet another example of your master craftsmanship. I could have used one when being driven to frustration with wavy grain. Thanks for sharing.
Ha! Another great and plane in the bag. Nice touch with the diamond on the front. Clearly you are passionate about your woodworking. It shows. Thanks kindly for sharing.

Pure pleasure watching your projects come to life. The detail & skill are phenomenal, I could relax & watch your videos all day ...and night (5am here)

I absolutely love your work! I tried to make my own as you show and it's definetly harder than it looks! Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills! 👍
Beautiful tool and delightful video! Looks to work flawlessly on that diving ash grain. Thanks for sharing. Would you say it performs different to something like a nr 80 cabinet scraper, where the blade protrudes by bending it?
Thank you :) Yes, it works much better because the blade hasn't bended blade. It fells more like using a plane, not a scraper. After that the surface is 100 % flat and you don't have to check it :) Regards!
Hello, your vids are better and better, always calm and relaxing, but your view angles are so accurate and your pictures so sharp! Oh, and I love your humour and your style, without speaking, but with sometime text on your wood and a perfect sound level from your tools, really new to me (sometime interesting vids are spoiled by too long and useless speeches)🤗 Thanks a lot for your incredible work. 👌👍🖖

Is the tote glued in? I have seen a couple videos where you fit the tote like that but I haven't seen how or if it is solidly attached. It looks like a pretty good pressure fit but is it just so tight you need tools to get it out? Or is the glue not shown?
Generally, I find that diamond plates, like all abrasive stones, work better with some liquid to float the swarf out of the way. I use watered down windex. Thanks for these videos. Very imspiring. There's another fellow making planes by hand out of iron/steel/brass, but I think yours demostrates very well that all-metal planes aren't mandatory.
All of your plane are awesome. Only one comment related to the anatomical orientation of wood. If you take a look to the old British plane Made out of beech you will notice that they are oriented in radial direction instead of tangential. This is to avoid the Natural swell and shrinkage due to rh and temperature change over a year. Resulting in a stable sole.
Listen Mr Greek Roots from Poland - I suspect you are a reincarnated Scottish plane maker Mr Mathieson - your planes are superb and stunningly good. You are most inspiring - you must be feel so lucky to be near beech forests or something to be able to source those blocks of beech and I note box wood. thanks very much for the content.
