Man I gotta agree! Unfortunately his band broke up a few yrs ago as he decided to go down the solo path. He'll still be touring w/ drummer Adam tho, who really underlines JD's guitar work with nice beats and wild drum escapades...
+Christopher Matthewson They all took turns playing solos on different songs. Josh had solos on nearly all the other songs played in the set. Check out the playlist of the show to see more of him th-cam.com/play/PLODaFH8MEB-Qbp3lDykzUhlwIrGK2Y6P2.html
Many players at this level don’t feel the need to show everything they’ve got on every song. They all realize the importance of being respectful to everyone and giving others a chance to shine too. Josh may have chosen to take a break on this one and just play rhythm where he’s able to contribute as much (if not more) as anyone else there. If you listen you can hear some great rhythm playing happening even though you might not be able to see Josh in the shot.
I've never actually felt someone's playing physically inside of me like I do with J.D SIMO. It's like I'm playing myself I can literally feel his emotions physically.
I could listen to Simo all day, the others not so much. He got the soul!!!! Hats off to Travis Carlton... a monster player. Hey guys, let that Travis loose!!!!!!!!
It's only now that it's hitting me that BB's gone. God must've wanted to listen to him play live in heaven. Thanks, BB for decades of great, great blues.
Wow I loved that!! Everyone was just awesome~I really loved those bends around 9:58-10:10~So soulful, it gave me chills~then of course he goes on to just tear it up like only JB can!! :) Love it Natasha, Thanks for the great capture!!
Seeing JD simo watching Bonamassa play is really special if you understand how good and masterful both are. Everyone on that stage is a master though. Joe only plays with the best.
This is from the set I've been looking for. JD looks like they woke him up from a deck chair 15 minutes earlier. He borrows one of Bonamassa's spare guitars and instantly pours out so much soul in his licks.
A fitting tribute to the great Blues Boy King... may the heavens open it's arms wide to receive the King of Blues. Rest in eternal peace. The thrill is gone, but not forgotten.
Paul Kobza My battery died in the middle of "Blues Deluxe" which was right before this song. Glad I had a fresh battery for this one. My most favorite song of the whole cruise.
JD really makes that fiddle speak. And the guys only 32! Joe's only 40. Lot of great years ahead for them both. Lots of other greats up there too. They always have a great band playing with them.
Wow! I loved them all..Just fabulous players..And Joe Bonamassa..Well he is no nerd, He is one great guitarist who has been playing since the age of about 5yrs old..He puts on a really really great concert/Show if you will..I LOVE the guy.
I did a rather crummy solo cover of this song in memory of B.B, shortly after his death, which I posted on my TH-cam channel. (I met B.B. in the early '70's.) All these covers that I have been hearing done by established blues artists put mine to shame! I am still, I guess, mourning B.B.'s passing. I consider myself blessed to have met the man, and gotten the chance to sit and talk with him, when he was alive.
Hey man, it's all about getting it out there. All ya gotta do to up your game is woodshed. Re-post a better version of your "crummy" version every month until you're satisfied.
Funny. I was in Nashville a few years ago for business and was standing next to JD at a crosswalk as I was heading to check out some bands on Broadway after my days work was done. At time I didn't know who he was and thought to myself, "Ahh, another guitarist in Nashville with his guitar bag over his shoulder". Then I saw him play at Roberts Western Wear with the Don Kelly Band. The playing was so effortless. The dude playing the stand up bass that night was damn good too!
Kirk fletcher is just such an underrated clean guitar 🎸 player, this version is really really good. When JOBO starts slowly and builds it BB must be enjoying it. When Thrill came out in 1969 that was vintage year, this is a memorable performance. BLUES will never dissapear
Joe & the whole band nailed it. And, as always, when watching one of your vids, I felt like I was RIGHT THERE (minus the sea-sickness) !!! THIS is my new theme song.
This is an important channel for the guitar community. Thank you for all your videos. Great quality sound on live performances of the best guitarist in blues/rock. Amazing!
The more I see of JD Simo, The more I like him. Sweet player.

JD is smoking and very unique solo here

Shout out to Josh Smith on the left.. An absolutely ferocious guitar player who didn't get the chance to strut his stuff here.... What an injustice...

I was there. Believe me, they all burnt it to the ground.
You are unclear on what "injustice" means. Josh has played with JB many times and strutted everyone else offstage.

Exactly my thought. Hm
That's JD Simo on Joe's left. A monster player himself.
Make that his right and yes absolute killer.
A big old damn monster.
Littlemartha 83 no he actually is on Joe's left lol
But he is right-handed though...
;)
@@tompelley949 Yes he is.
Joes vocals… 🏆

Lay off the weed
Bonamassa with unreal technical skills, but JD is so easy to listen to and get into.
Mr Bonamassa.... one word... MASTER!
JD a vraiment un jeu exceptionnel, de justesse, d'équilibre et de bon goût.
I could listen to Simo all day, the others not so much. He got the soul!!!! Hats off to Travis Carlton... a monster player. Hey guys, let that Travis loose!!!!!!!!
Bonamassa an JD Simo These guys are legends, thanks for bringin this music on
It's only now that it's hitting me that BB's gone. God must've wanted to listen to him play live in heaven. Thanks, BB for decades of great, great blues.
Three short months later Joe's mentor and one of his guitar heros was gone. Keepin it real Joe. RIP BB King.
JD simo... killing it as usual :p
JD Simo - Respect !!! I think I wouldn't be able be so strong and patient - once more great performance !!!
You go JD!!!!! Passion and warfare!!! Listen to that guitar cry and howl... and on a Les Paul that sure aint easy!!!
What a great night on the deck of the Jade, the thrill was quite apparent!
JB BAF I don't care what anyone says blues or not like or not he is fun to listen to fun to watch.
the blues are alive and well !

All around great performance. Joe has the confidence from playing his whole life which is refreshing.

WOW. I knew this was gonna be good.... Maybe even great. But ...... Wow. Extraordinary.
I love all these guys, but JDs solo is the best.
I was there sitting a little to the left of you. My card ran out of space on this song. Thanks for capturing it all.
Paul Kobza My battery died in the middle of "Blues Deluxe" which was right before this song. Glad I had a fresh battery for this one. My most favorite song of the whole cruise.
👍😃 I got those goose bumps again!

His solo was absolutely phenomenal!
This is why Joe is the king of the"new young"blues guitar players he takes it seriusly and is in charge not to much smiling and goofing off.

Great song and great Band. Really liked that Hammond Organ.

Joe Fick on the bass.

Splendid
gotta love the blues, in its many varied forms .. so simple. so cool. so capturing.
Awesome video. And very cool that Steven Segall was willing to lend his sax skills to Joe for the night.
Joe has the best tone. Jesus Christ.
Joe & the whole band nailed it. And, as always, when watching one of your vids, I felt like I was RIGHT THERE (minus the sea-sickness) !!! THIS is my new theme song.
Your video camera is amazing. The quality is fantastic, Thanks !
Simo killin it!!!
what an amazing performance ... I'm stunned
OMG! This is so Good! Thanks for the post! GroovyHoovy
Thank you so much for posting this and all the other videos - was on the boat too and this just helps keep the memories fresh - much appreciated
Thank you for all the video's. I couldn't make it to the Cruise.
Thank you.
This is an important channel for the guitar community. Thank you for all your videos. Great quality sound on live performances of the best guitarist in blues/rock. Amazing!
amazing !!! thanks a lot
Fantastic! Thanks for the brilliant video!
Bonamassa fez uma bela homenagem à Erick Clapton.... Eu me lembrei no momento que ele começou a tocar.... Do grande Erick.
Joe is a beast !!
Joe just tears it up at 9:45. Wow! Truly ANGRY BLUES!!!
John M. what amp is joe using?
Joey Falcone No clue!
Who knew Davy Crockett rocked this hard?
Fantastic performance. I envy the ever-living shit out of everyone who was on this cruise.
Simo is a fucking badass and he looks like he's watching a clinic when Joe plays lol Legends.
Joe usually wears Armani suits. I'm glad to see him as an average Joe...damn, that was good!
Armani Suits??? Are you kidding? His suits come straight from Sears and 2 sizes too small and slept in. Joe can't dress for shit!!!
@@bluesdriver6354 it's an odd criticism on someone known for guitar playing
@@bluesdriver6354He plays great so nothing else matters
Great !
the guy on the far right great solo - the best playing to me
I agree
All three solos were quite different in their own regard, but all really good.
He's Kirk Fletcher I suppose
Guy on the right wth the curly hair is J. D. Simo.
+brucenlittlepictures i meant the black dude - his solo just killed it !
Some awe right there!!
Simo brings a little something different to the party.
That gave me a thrill!
joe is a show man! )
Oh those violin thingy's around 9:00 get me every time. I see Patty was enjoying herself.
kirk fletcher for president!
Wow who is the star? Simo looks like he could pounce at any moment.
Amazing, i like it!
Best!❤
I don’t care how often they play together….why on earth, ever, EVER, would JOSH SMITH not get kicked a solo. Arguably the baddest dude up there.
i was waiting the killer solo by Smith
Damn!! Joe the best !!!!
Awesome Natasha! .. thanks for sharing, Girlie!
Soooo good. Look forward to some more .. of course after u get some much deserved rest .. lol
Wonderfull! We love BB King too!
My last song was also a cover of this Great song!
He will be Remembered!
Joe Bonamassa on guitar and vocals, and Joe Bonamassa on sax!
Bonamassa, esta ya en los más grandes guitarristas de todos los tiempos
JD the Michiel Romein of Blues
very good fellings
With all respect to all of these musicians, Joe just absolutely schooled on his solo. Would have liked to hear Josh Smiths solo.
Yeah but he took alot from J.Ds playing he never plays the way he did here with all the slow bends and volume swells.
Got all the big dogs on the stage.
Burst Party! Joe and JD brought tomato soup.
JD!
And how hard you think I wanna kick my own butt for missing out on this...? Pretty hard, I can tell you that! What a Fabulous performance!!
sandrasalamander Wow, that sucks that you didn't go to this. Thought for sure you must have been there.
***** Well off course you did...And Off Course we should have! But we weren't, and agree, that sucks. Anyway, thanks for the great capture :-)
tres belle version
Joe just nails down that rhythm section during Kirk's solo.
Not that it's about clothes but this is the Joe I remember. Not the Joe with the fancy suits. Jeans and tshirts. 👍
Bonamassa wins the tone contest ;-)
SDPickups what amp is joe using?
BB KING nods and approves this
Two genius.
Twin 60 bursts make me drool.
8:00 solo is just WOOOW !!! KILLING !!! REAL !!!
Это ЛУЧШИЙ БЛЮЗ ЧТО Я СЛЫШАЛ...
JD, the kids a "KILLA"....
John Mayer would wipe the floor here!
Yeh with a mop when these guys finished.
Those 1960 burst though. 😁
