  • In this video, I'll show you how to Sync Subtitles Using the Point Sync Via Other Subtitle Feature in Subtitle Edit.
This video is a request from Symon and has been in the works for a while.
To use the Point Sync via Other Subtitle feature you need 2 subtitles with one subtitle in sync while the other subtitle is out of sync.
This is applicable if you want to sync one subtitle in one language to another subtitle that's in another language.
    Subtitle Edit: www.nikse.dk/S...
I hope this video is of value.
    Thanks for watching.

Amazing, this helped me to add unsupported subtitles to Netflix with my own timing from a non-supported language, thanks.

Hey David! Thanks to your videos i’m finally able to update the quality of my movie collection! Thank you very much! I have a problem though and maybe you can help. Is there a similar way to sync an audio stream in one language based on another language? I have multi language streams got by ripping 2 different dvd’s of the same movie released for different nations and i’m trying to convert them in 1 mkv file but even if i fix the delay of a language at the beginning, it then drifts from the main video. Maybe it’s a framerate issue but it’s more complicated than just setting a constant framerate with handbrake. Do you have any advice? Thank you in advance 😊

This is very helpful, thank you very much. What if both subtitles doesn't have same number of lines, maybe because in one of them one line is split into two?

Thank you for the video. How do you point sync if your correct subtitle has a few more lines than your wrong subtitle, and the duration of all the lines are a little different? The method shown in your video works but there are a few lines where the timing is a little off (like very little). Thank you.

I have a problem with a 4K video that is 2GB. The video lags or jumps forward little by little (sorry I don't know how to explain), the audio and image don't synchronize and I cannot add the subtitles properly. How can this problem be solved. Thanks on advance.

Is there a fast way to combine time codes of a subtitle with lines from another subtitle using subtitle edit? Thank you.

  • @ahmano666

is there a way to simply add/remove delay from one subtitle using the starting timecode of another as reference? this would be so helpful when working with subtitles on different languages, since sometimes the amount of words demand breaking lines and such, resulting on files with more lines, so this line-by-line sync would not work. thanks a lot

Hello my friend, how are you? I have a simple question for you. I watched you convert all formats to srt format. I need a way to convert a txt file to srt format. I used Descript, but it stopped. I need a subscription and I do not have the money to subscribe and I need an alternative method for that.

Have you tried using Subtitle Edit? Here's how to convert a text file to SRT in Subtitle Edit. th-cam.com/video/j0-xlL0N0sM/w-d-xo.html
      I hope this helps.

It doesnt work. when i press apply the subtitles within the points still remain unmatched.

    • @David_Mbugua
      @David_Mbugua  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should work.
Make sure the subtitles are identical in all aspects with the only issue being the time.
By this I mean, if there's a blank line, it should be available for both subtitles.
Also, ensure that you're synching an Out of Sync Subtitle to the In Sync.
If it's the other way round you barely notice any change at all.
Let me know if you succeed or have any issue.
      Thanks.

@@David_Mbugua translation has been done on the out of sync subtitle file and the in sync fil is the source language. so text don't match obviously. i checked there is no empty line. 818 lines in an hour runtime. can I send u the 2 files ?
