Definitely impressed, better notch has been a long time coming but they made it work. Really hoping for no notch though! Satellite SOS was a big game changer as well.
The fact that he has to show us the differences by zooming into the pixels in most photos shows that both cameras are incredible and there is no wrong choice for the normal consumer.

Good review. Obviously, iPhone 14 camera system is more optimised and performs better in many ways. But as a user of S22 Ultra and iPhone 12 pro, I realised I couldn't switch from back to front camera while recording a video on my iphone....I've never seen a single camera comparison that mentions this. Makes me wonder if everyone else feel it's not an important feature. Am I the only one that noticed it, or people are just bias and hate to mention Apple's flaws?....if that was Samsung, it'd be mentioned in every video.
I don't think that has to do with bias; it's just that almost nobody uses that feature. If you listen closely to the entire video, Arun actually mentions Director's view, which I assume is the feature you're talking about.
bro literally every other camera test before iPhone 14 pro, iPhone gets demolished by Samsung, and Arun isn't afraid to absolutely roast the heck out of the iPhone (even though he uses one himself) cameras as Samsung ones were genuine and much better than Apple. However, this year Apple was able to drastically improve their hardware and also equipped with better software processing there were able to win this time. Arun never takes bias and who knows if the s23 ultra demolishes iPhone 14 pro max, Arun isn't just going to give it to iPhone because of some sort of bias.
@@randomoneforstuff3696 no he's not talking about director's view he's talking about the ability to change between different lens mid video but i think it's a really niche feature and no one cares about it
16:56 Someone finally mentioned this.... The iPhone 14 series' price jump is so big here that the standard 14 is basically the same price as a 13 Pro, and the 14 Pro Max is slightly more expensive than the Fold 4 for the same storage for the 512GB/1TB models.... The phone is amazing, but For that money, I'd buy something that has a wow factor or just buy a 13 series and an iPad to go with it
Gotta give the credit to Samsung for having cutting-edge hardware, but more importantly to Apple for the intelligent and effective video and image processing! Also great video Arun, keep up the great work 👍
The way these guys work is something like this Samsung gives their phones a crazy sensor but doesn't utilise it fully. Whereas Apple milks every last bit of their mediocre hardware.
I’ve been an avid Apple user for years and I do love taking photos. I may always be an Apple user to the end as far as the platform with IOS and not an android. But seeing the running competitiveness with its cameras it does seem to be running neck in neck. What I did find amazing in a Samsung compared to Apple was when someone shot a picture of a full moon. MAN! Very clear and no issues in obtaining the shot either. On an Apple…well; let’s just say there was much much more to be done in even trying to come close. Interesting to say the least in the competition. Thank you for sharing these comparisons they were great!
@mulero johan I have taken one on my s22 ultra and it is very much still super clear, I am an avid android user but seeing how far apple has come is very impressive! I won't switch over due to ecosystem, I'm far more embedded into android ecosystem however, apple is definitely giving us more of a run for our money then they used to. However, an android especially one ad powerful as the s22 ultra, can take very nice shots of the moon just by zooming and it's something you have to put a bit of extra work into when using apple.
What I find interesting is that it is now a given that both Samsung and Apple release new flagships in asynchronous fashion. Samsung can claim your comparison isn't fair as what you should be comparing to is to the S23 Ultra that's out in a few months. And then when you finally do perform the s23 ultra vs iPhone 14 pro max comparison Apple would be able to claim that in a few months their new flagship is due and it will obliterate the s23. You never really do get an answer of do I buy the iPhone or wait for the new Samsung
You are absolutely correct, I have been reading through all these comments to find someone who saw what I saw. I don’t believe some of these pictures are the real pictures because I have the Samsung and the iPhone 14 and all the pictures on the Samsung come out better than the iPhone 14 so someone is lying somewhere.
its not about what system the company makes its about the best system a consumer can buy at the time of recording. At this time those are the two flagships
@@tyrice24earl Ture i have compared photos betwen the 14 and U22 and samsung comes out better all the time, but just the x10 zoom alone crushes it imo.

The anti-shake video thing seems pretty bad on the S22. On my old S20U its pretty much flawless, perhaps it uses the OIS a lot more than any digital post-processing.
@@4DoGamerHDD He probably went to the extreme with these. So both are equal in reality when stabilization regarding stabilization. Only in the extreme cases the advanced stabilization on iPhone is better. Where the iPhone really shines is quality of video. Not only the resolution is 2 times better but also the hardware working in real time on iPhone is superior to anything else. That's where the raw power of Apple silicon really plays a huge part. A16 is able to execute 4 trillion operations per second. That 4 times more than iPhone X when this function first came out with introduction of the neural engine.

Don't know about others but the 10x zoom on S22 Ultra helped me take the kind of pictures/wildlife shots that I am actually planning to invest on a proper Sony full-frame camera.

No matter which flagship one buys, it's not wrong choice. As an S21 user there is a "pro" option in the camera settings that allows you to customize to the user's liking. The photos I take are color accurate most of the time.

my biggest problem with smartphone cameras is their low-light performance, it's amazing that so many people can do photography but so far a proper dslr is still so much better.
Oh i would not say professional cameras have better low light photos (except sony A7S series). The software on the smartphones improved quality immensely.
For some categories I actually preferred the Samsung over the iPhone. But there is no denial that iPhone optimization is the best one. I can't wait to see the Pixel phones against it
True, I actually disagree with him in a lot of parts, the fact that he had to go to pixel level to even find somewhat improvement of the iphone over samsung proves that they're pretty much equal in terms of photography quality
Some of its down to how you like your photos, the S22 are very saturated (too much IMHO), where as the iPhones are more natural looking. Just look at the 12:40 mark on the climbing frame to see the difference really clearly.
Pros and Cons for both. It comes down to if you really all the novelty or do you usually just take a basic picture then tell the camera app to bug off? So, while we enthusiasts might care about one or more of these tiny pros and cons, most people wouldn't bother thinking about any of this.
Do we have statistics of the consumer market demographics who uses these innovations and see where most sales are coming from? In my opinion, it is for each own personal gratification this devices were bought and not generally maximizing day to day their potential features.
Honestly these phone cameras are so good at this point for the vast majority of users any differences are negligible and largely make no appreciable difference.
Was in NYC about 2 weeks ago and while down there discovered a couple of old building to take pics of. One of the buildings was extremely tall and also had Gargoyles on it. I zoomed in with my S22 Ultra and was amazed at the clarity despite the extreme distance.
I love it I took a picture of a hawk on telephone wires that would be impossible otherwise and next sunset you see use the 10x zoom you won't believe what it does
That was a very impressive video regardless of which phone a consumer chooses. I just pre-ordered one myself, but it was nice seeing them side by side.
Ive seen other conparisons on instagram and the results were stunning from s22 ultra. The only better thing iphone had was the stabilization of the video. All in all both cameras are good for use.
Even though I would've hoped for Samsung to win as an Android user, I do agree with the results, despite your subjective reasoning, we should acknowledge the fact that Apple has closed the Camera gap already. Yet Samsung remains my favorite as a personal preference, the colors and the optical zoom seem just right for me. Without mentioning the open source system which allows you to use other camera apps like Google Camera which takes the best of what a Samsung can deliver. Thank you for your hard work as always.
Agree with all the picks except the 'Portrait Mode' win going to the iPhone. The background in most of the iPhone's portrait mode shots are blown out whereas Samsung's HDR manages to keep all highlights in place. Samsung's edge detection also seems a tad bit better. At best, it could have been a draw cause of the shutter lag issue you mentioned. Anyway, great content as usual!
But the most important thing would be the actual subject itself, the iPhone captures more detail. Look at his shirt and beard at 9:51, iPhone captures textures on the shirt while the Samsung just presents us with a smooth shirt with a few wrinkles. His beard also just looks like a black blob on his face in the Samsung shot. I think Samsung tries to put too much detail for the background and not enough on the subject. Also what's going on at the top of his head in the Samsung shot, it just fuses with the background

They’re not throughout at all. I love this man, I absolutely do, but his choices are completely biased. Portrait mode to iPhone? That was very shocking considering the natural colors given in the s22 and the edge detection, but he gave it cause it has a super photonic feature? Really? Man looked black in his iPhone picture, how is that any better? Changing his skin color is extremely bad, but not only that, he gave it the win! And for the action mode, he never EVER gave the stabilization in the last 4 years to Samsung because of the “quality”, but now that apple has that mode, even if the quality is bad he gave it to apple. From zoom to normal camera shooting, his opinions were always on the side of apple, I reckon it has a better camera setup rn, but it’s nowhere as clear as Samsung’s cameras like he displayed in the video
I'm pretty amazed to see what Apple did here, but yeah it's a newer device, s22 Ultra has such amazing hardware I believe it still requires a bit more software updates to be on point there is alot of room for improvement
As an avid Dbrand grip case and screen protector user for the last 2 years on my 12 pro max, I can honestly say this might be the best phone case I’ve ever used by far. @Malik Richards its perfect for that and my kid always seem to stop what he's doing if he knows you trying to take a picture, with the zoom you can capture cute moments without ruining it
Also, for the 2X zoom test, you would need to enable the 108MP mode for better results, but then disable it for 3x, etc etc. Maybe after an update it will use the lossless zoom thing

That's the thing. It's not just zoomed in 2x on the iPhone. It's a special mode which optimizes for it. He didn't enable pro raw, took a 48mp photo and zoomed in digitally afterwards.
Am on a trip with a friend who has S22 Ultra, we tried taking a selfie under a dark overhang with a very bright background and the camera kept refocusing on either our faces or the background exclusively with no middle ground. I pulled out my iPhone XR and it with a tap it had our faces visible and also the background. I think that goes to show how the iPhones processing makes taking a picture easier.
As an S21 ultra owner I'm glad you mentioned the shutter lag! So many photos of my 1yr old become useless because of the lag. I'm glad Apple seems to be doing a better job here.
Honestly, apple has had that hands down for quite a while. I always tell people you can get a better picture out of a Samsung given time, but for reliably snappy and quality photos, apple takes it. Apples cameras are just better for every day life for sure.
And with iPhones you have the option of taking photos with Live mode on or off..which makes a short video before and after the shutter. So if you do get a blurry photo you can just edit the photo and choose a frame that isn’t so blurry. Don’t know if samsung phones have that option.

@mulero johan any photo you take on a phone is, thats why its a big focus within phone cameras how the AI corrects images

The anti-shake video thing seems pretty bad on the S22. On my old S20U its pretty much flawless, perhaps it uses the OIS a lot more than any digital post-processing.
U gotta enable it video stabilization on settjngs
Yeah the super steady mode on my old S10 looks better too
@@4DoGamerHDD He probably went to the extreme with these.

Man looked black in his iPhone picture, how is that any better? Changing his skin color is extremely bad, but not only that, he gave it the win! As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE!
Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals!
The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil.
I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God!

So many creators should look to this man for how to make content. i was so engrossed in the delivery and engagment style that i didnt realise that the usual "follow me even though i have done nothing to make you want to" had not been given. when i was entertained and informed in such a great way and THEN the "give a follow" was given, my answer was too late buddy just done it already. Love it! Awesome content.
I already have an S22 Ultra, and I love it... But, I'm going to be picking up an iPhone 14 PM for my second line. The thing is, as much as I used to get annoyed carrying two phones, it's even more annoying juggling two SIMs on one device when they are both in constant use. I decided, rather than have two Samsung devices, I might as well get both. I will have the fun experience of the S22's software (and it is genuinely fun to use,) but also the utility of the iPhone 14 Pro cameras.
I have never really been a brand loyalist or a "fanboy." I have stuck with Samsung since the Note 2 for one reason... The S-Pen. Since I respect what both companies are doing for smartphones and I routinely recommend each based on the needs of the person asking instead of what I prefer, I think it is high time I actually have both.
Yeah, I might get an iPhone 14 Pro/Or Pro max using my own money one day in a few months when I get enough to upgrade from the regular iPhone 13, The iPhone 14 series is insane, I never knew it would be this good before watching this video, Well done apple! 👏
Just make one line VOIP line. Has saved me a ton of headache.
Can you gift me
Not sure if you know this but some of Apple’s Phones (Probably the 14 Pro Max) have a dual SIM chip option.
The 22 literally has dual Sim support

I think this is the best smartphones review on YT. I am Samsung owner (I have S21 Ultra) And I think when S23 ultra come out I will buy it, but now I have one question, I am video blogger and for video recording and also taking photos, which will be better for me ? Iphone 14 Pro max or Galaxy S23 Ultra which is not released yet ?
I believe they’re both good enough that the choice will fall on which system the user is more used to.
And I’m strictly referring to the camera setup of course.
Me too. Which phone do you have/use?
The iPhone has better video quality. That’s what I’m up for. Samsung has terrible video.
The camera set up is the same
@@elijnr you've clearly never used a recent Samsung

I'm going to be honest here, I've had the S22 Ultra since it came out and Man the things you can do with the Camera is insane.

Samsung camera is far better than apple's Camera.
IN S23 ultra it is confirmed that samsung gonna use isocell 200 mp sensor apple's 48 mp sensor is noway near the both 108 and 200 mp sensor's of Samsung. In Display no brand can compete with Samsung in mobiles.
@@Wukong432 always has been the case. apple only started putting more effort on the camera's so maybe by iPhone 16 they would surpass Samsung... maybe
Hey arun! Thanks alot for this video. I work for a telecommunications company and we will start selling the 14 range on Friday so this video has definitely helped me understanding the difference between the camera quality on both flagships. :)
Watching this on my computer I think Samsungs pictures overall looks far better.
You think wrong, more saturation doesn't mean better photos...

It's so weird that sometimes your skin color is more vibrant on the Samsung and sometimes on the iPhone. It kinda shifts around depending on the lighting. Also as a side note your skin color is actually very nice and a perfect benchmark for the AI processing in these phones.
You and SuperSaf make the best camera comparisons on TH-cam 📸
Thanks for this, I went for the Ultra and I'm not disappointed. Everyday I'm loving my S22 ultra.
The wait is over for the comparison I've been waiting for. Thanks, Arun🔥
Improvements are never apparent until they are compared side by side. This is awesome stuff.
When every youtubers running for unboxing videos, Here Arun comes up with camera comparison 😌🔥
The iPhone looks far superior on my 65 inch Oled TV. Never owned one before and don't want to move to their ecosystem but very impressed
Wow, as a Samsung fan, I didn't expect such a powerful camera from Apple. Always found the iPhone cameras to be a bit weak over the past few years (except for video) but the 14 Pro is very strong.
I hope Samsung catches up with the S23.
Yeah. I feel like samsung does the editing for you so it is very good for people that doesn't know how to edit pictures. Apple just lacks dynamic range color accuracy is already good so if you know how to edit Apple's color accuracy and quality is better
The amount of money and effort Arun puts in his videos is underrated and under appreciated
And he does amazing reviews for products that are so clear and straight to the point

Arun's videos are always so interactive and make me look forward to listen to tech! Never fails.
In one's hand, the S21 + S22 100x zoom feature is 'difficult' to master, however it's absolutely 'crisp' when mounted on a tripod using a remote Bluetooth trigger.
And the fact that it can be used with manual + raw output on S22
Agree the 100x is stunning when the phone can be 100% still...
Sounds like a phone perfect for creeps 😂
If I can be bothered to carry a tripod about, I might as well bother myself to carry an actual camera too.
@@timclegg8197 I'm pretty sure you can do that on iphones too

One of the most awaited videos. Very well executed! Thank you as this was also extremely helpful.
I wish all reviews on TH-cam had this level of production quality. This exceeds anything you can find on commercial TV. You should be very proud of your work. New subscriber here.
Samsung should also bring something like 2x or 3x by using 108 MP mode. Especially helpful at low lightning conditions.
Don't worry they will do it now, as they have seen how it's DONE by Apple. They copy, don't invent.

Great review, but some attention should have been paid to the “Pro Raw” format option on the iPhone. In my experience, it dramatically improves detail when zooming into a photo.

2:05 actually there's A LOT of graining on the low-light selfie caught with an iPhone 14 Pro. A selfie made with an AS22 Ultra looks a lot smoother.
bruh wdym it looks like he’s using a filter! he literally wants the pic to be as realistic as possible not some smoothed out junk!
@@dortak6797 but in the end, graining is a flaw. A very visible flaw that spoils the whole effect and progress Apple made in the front camera. Truth is that most people won't care about "smoothed out junk" for as long as it looks smooth. That's the thing about it.
Idk man, I look at those two pics and I can see the hairs in his eyebrows and the subtle crosshatch pattern in his shirt on the iphone. All that detail is smoothed out on samsung to just hide how little detail it is able to recover.
I mean Samsung is so smoothed that you can't even see a whole button under his collar on the left side. That is pretty bad...
