    Nintendogs? Fzero and Star Fox? Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? Nintendo has so many cool IPs they could bring back and feature. When though, and will they? let's talk about it.

      @CR-Nova 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@orangeslash1667 I just cannot agree here. Everyone knows 3D F-Zero is completely different from Mario Kart. There are things Mario Kart just cannot do. For instance, 3D F-Zero has multiple ways to achieve turning, custom tracks (which Mario Kart *still* hasn't done yet), vehicular combat without the use of weapons, and that's just with mechanics.
      While Mario Kart 8 did make strides, in things like having MKTV and also a place to show off tips and tricks, there are other single-player elements Nintendo hasn't done with Mario Kart yet. Discounting Mission Mode from Mario Kart DS, it doesn't have the little things like a place to view characters out of their karts or the karts themselves (or even character endings similar to Smash Bros. or F-Zero X. Minor, but the little things add something extra). I get that Mario Kart focuses more on multiplayer, but 3D F-Zero, let alone F-Zero in general has always beat Mario Kart in Singeplayer elements.
      It's definitely a good thing indie games have surged with entries that are far closer to F-Zero than just Wipeout alone. But Ninetndo still hasn't brought 3D F-Zero to its *true* potential yet. It's why many fans don't want Nintendo to rely only on Mario Kart. They desperately need variety in the racing department, as far as first-party goes.

      I remember a game from that era called 3D Petz: Splat the Cat.
      The start menu promised at least 9 games in the series with stuff like a dog, a goldfish, a t-rex, etc.
      They only got 3 of the games made before the series was either cancelled or the studio went bankrupt.

    I like the idea for a Tomodachi Life 2, when I played the Tomodachi game on the 3ds I felt some things about the game were lacking. If this game was supposed to mimic real life, a school should have been provided for your islanders' children. If 1 had been included, the school lessons would be somewhat similar to attending a quiz show.

    Regarding the Mother franchise: The reason why there aren't more games being made is because doing so would go against the creator's wishes. Mother is owned by both Nintendo and Hobonichi, the company of series creator Itoi. Itoi has stated that he is satisfied where the series is currently, and does not see a reason on expanding it further. I definitely think Mother 3 needs a western release, but I don't think it would be right to continue making more games for a story that the creator said is finished. Anything beyond would be more akin to fanfiction.
    Also, one reason why Mother 3 hasn't been localized (among others): When the fan translation team launched their translation, Nintendo sent them a letter that basically said "yeah you did this better than we ever could lol".

    • @morayfrye
      @morayfrye 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Its because mother 3 would be a controversial game with its stereotypes and themes that would not fly at all today, and it would be a very hard game to localize without changing the story too much

    • @TC_EHGL
      @TC_EHGL 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +47

      @@morayfrye No, I really don't think that is an issue. I see people commonly quote the Magypsies as an issue, but I think the only people who would genuinely have an issue with them are bigots who aren't worth catering to. I don't think it would fly with an E rating; it would likely have to be a T-rated game, but there really isn't much content in it that is worse than say, games like Twilight Princess or Fire Emblem. I've also heard that the music sampling is a common worry as well, and that may be the most legitimate complaint beyond Nintendo not seeing a reason to translate when one already exists.

      @@morayfryethat's a common theory, but I think it's mostly a myth
      Considering one of the games has men in drag called "trans vestites", a character who's strongly hinted at being gay in English but not Japanese, "those german" alien pigs, and a handful of other raunchy topics
      But the first few games still got localised with no one batting an eye, and then re-released on the virtual console _showing off_ some of those risqué subjects in the trailer.
      The only reason they wouldn't localise it is if the subject matter is too dark, that's been their usual MO.

Earthbound, Kid Icarus and FZERO were flops almost anywhere so rebooting this franchises was ill advised in Nintendo’s Part. Wonder why Pikmin 4 took so long? I thought I’d try the ultra Moon game but I hate how slow and hand holdy it ended up being and how similar story wise it was to Moon 😅 It felt too copy and paste from the first one and I tried to rly love it cuz it wasn’t cheap but I had to stop only ~30% through cus it was just too beat for beat as the first game and very hand holdy 😭 I get it’s a kids series but having a separate difficulty option that skips tutorials and things that make me feel like I’m being treated like a literal infant would be great 😅 I feel like Shadows of Almia got the balance just right with the school and as a kid I actually enjoyed getting stuck at the deadly cliffs with that big boss ramming into the mountain

Johto is my favorite region, but I do not want the Let's Go series to return, because I'm too lazy to finish the pokedex in that game, so I just traded my game in without finishing my pokedex, and even traded in the pokeball plus, because I have no need for it anymore. It's worth noting that quite a few of these IPs aren't actually owned by Nintendo directly, just licenced for their systems by third parties.
    And even the ones that are, they have full control over to request a new entry.
    Not to mention some of these games had entries a few years ago, even if they were remakes or ports...
    Mystery Dungeon, Mother, and Pokemon Ranger are all franchises that were developed by a third party that own the rights to some aspect of those games directly.
    While Nintendo and Creatures Inc both co-own The Pokemon Company alongside Game Freak, for example, Hal Lab is entirely independent of either and is co-owner of the Mother franchise alongside Creatures Inc (specifically 2 and 3 which they co-developed) and also owns the design of the catching mechanic used in the Ranger games.
    Mystery Dungeon is a non-Pokemon series owned by Chunsoft which licenses Pokemon for one of its spin-off series, it would be on them to approach Nintendo about making new games not vice versa.

    • @LG555
      @LG555 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Also, some IPs are the other way around. The IP belongs to Nintendo, but the games are made by studios outside of Nintendo.
      The best known of these are HAL with Kirby, IS with Fire Emblem and of course Pokemon.
      But then there is also the new DKC games and Metroid Prime made by Retro, Luigis Mansion now made by Next Level Games or resently Metroid and Mercury Steam.
      I just think that Nintendos internal studios are already always working on a game, that Nintendo doesn't have the capability to work on all their IPs. So they outsourcethem to other studios, which may be interested in working on this.

Synsophia is still doing fashion games exclusive to nintendo platforms, just without their official partnership with nintendo- if nintendo wanted to do it, they could. But, for a lot of reasons, they likely never will. I can accept that, but I'm still going to be sad about it.

      False Microsoft does not own them they only own characters introduced in dk64 and diddykong racing games. Others are strictly from the donkey Kong series which Nintendo owns also Nintendo and Microsoft work together. Litterally why rare games are on the Nintendo game passes which are better than Xbox game pass and actually worth the price while xbox gamepass is not worth 18 bucks a month

    I did read that Nintendo is remaking Super Punch Out, but someone told me that they are not, because Punch Out for Wii did a bad sale, due to Donkey Kong being too difficult, so they are not doing another Punch Out game. I can see that as the problem, because they might have to bring in another character from a different game. I do see a chance for King Dedede or Bowser as the secret opponent if Super Punch Out gets a remake, and probably one new fighter to each circuit, like Kid Quick, Pizza Pasta, Mr. Dream, and a brand new opponent (like Bear Hugger and Aran Ryan from Super Punch Out and a brand new opponent named Disco Kid came in Punch Out for Wii). I read Nintendo's contract with Mike Tyson expired, and that's why Nintendo remade Punch Out on NES by replacing Mike Tyson with Mr. Dream. I read Mike Tyson was not in the Wii version, because he retired from boxing. I read Mr. Dream was not in, because he was hated by alot of fans for replacing Mike Tyson. I do not see a chance of Mike Tyson joining Super Punch Out. What if Mr. Dream came in as new? You do not have to believe everything I posted, because my info can be wrong, because I been getting info from other people, but about the boxers being in Super Punch Out remake, it's just my guess, and even someone suggested those boxers to return. From what I been seeing and been told, I do not think Nintendo will bring Punch Out back.

    I see this and I'm reminded of this statement from Telltale from before they shut down saying something to the effect of "These series are an important part of our company's past, but not its future." Call me negative, but I think at this point, Nintendo might see these off-series as being good only for nostalgic releases (like for NSO) and nothing else. I see the same thing with other publishers with lots of highly requested nostalgic properties, like Capcom, Sega, Square-Enix, Konami, Sony, and more, and think a big new release for any of those series is just never going to happen, no matter how much we'd want it. They'd understandably rather spend their money and effort on a sequel to a flagship franchise that they know will sell decently than a revival of an old or obscure series that might bomb. I'd love to be proven wrong here (and it looks like Sega's trying to), but I just don't see it.
    Well, I'm sufficiently bummed out now. I'm gonna watch some hip-hop dance videos to cheer myself up.

    Pokemon isn't making another battling game, they have a normal battle system in game where you can rent teams and battle against people or NPCs. The team renting thing in Sword and Shield onward is the same as the older games. Even in the older games they had the battle frontier and battle towers, but since we now have mainline games on the switch and not the ds, there isn't a need to showcase graphics on a big screen when they're already on the big screen.

    As far as mother is concerned, the original creator has stated that he doesn’t want to continue the series because it took too much out of him which is perfectly understandable, not everything needs to keep going on. And being honest, Nintendo just has way too many IPs to keep up with, especially when the main point of a business is to make money so it’s only natural some games will get left behind

  • @zillauniverse7208

    Here are some other Nintendo IPs you forgot to mention that they should bring back
    Disaster Day Of Crisis, it was the first game made by Monolith Soft after they were acquired by Nintendo and it’s basically Uncharted mix with Metal Gear Soild in the style of a Roland Emmeric disaster movie, it looked like a lot of fun but unfortunately never saw a western release because not only did it sold poorly in Japan and Europe but even Reggie hated the game and prevented it from getting a US release.
    The Last Story, a JRPG made by Hironobu Sakaguchi (the creator of Final Fantasy) after he left Square Enix, while it did get a North American release thanks to Project Rainfall it was just completely forgotten.
    Pandora Tower, another JRPG that Project Rainfall helped get a North American release and much like The Last Story it was completely forgotten which is a shame because I did played it and it’s very underrated
    Code Name S.T.E.A.M, a strategy game made by Intelligent Systems that’s basically a steampunk version of the Avengers featuring characters from American literature and folklore, it even had guest characters from Fire Emblem if you scanned their amiibo.

    Whoa, hold thy horses! just for the record, Petz existed Looooong before Nintendogs. Nintendogs was my relief for the online community around Petz dwindling. The console versions of Petz were weak at best and new for post NintenDogs.. but Dogz and Catz existed from the mid 90s on the PC with a sizable community of people that hexed the breed files to create breeds the game wasn't developing fast enough, started breeding kennels, dog shows, agility trials, etc. It was a bit over the top really but the peak was probably around 1999 when Dogz 4 and Catz 4 were released. The version 5 left fans a little disappointed and the fandom tapered. But it was very different from Nintendogs and definitely caught and/or started the fad of virtual pets even before the little keychain ones came into play.
    I didn't mean for this to sound quite so aggressive but I guess I still remember those times and what I got out of it (I learned HTML because of those silly life form simulations) that I felt a way about hearing the franchise talked about as a failed follow-up to a decent console game of similar taste.
