I have a project for you: disability friendly meals - I can stand up for about 10mins max (even with a seat in the kitchen - if it goes in the oven and I can sit for 20mins or so I can maybe do another 5mins) but what can I cook!?! I loved cooking and I love good food! I'm vegetarian - my current fav is to use prepared roasted veg trays, lazy garlic, then chop up halloumi and bake it all for 45mins. That's the sort of thing I could cook but I need MORE :D I just feel like you're a good person to ask!

Hi Grace. I used to work in Ice Cream at Unilever head office (company that owns Calippo brand). Calippo dots are definitely still around. They are part of the out of home range so you won't find them in supermarkets - they will usually be in mom and pops shops around the country - particularly on the coast. We had them in some of our freezers at work :)

Oh my god the Calippo shots bring back so many memories - I’d entirely forgotten about them til now! The Turkey Dinosaurs used to be incredible back in the day (paired with smiley faces obvs) but they taste awful now 😭
Haha I remember that "Turkey twizzler" Jamie Oliver malarkey. He really hates those succers!! I think he revolutionised school dinners and also did some great work in hospitals to improve hospital meals. Glad he uses his platform for good change. Helping us to eat the best food we can. Not restrictive, just not so many additives!! Sure they had to change the recipe after that!
The baked bean pizza has blown my mind. It makes sense. It’s essentially baked beans on toast, just it’s fancy Italian toast. I think I will have to try it. Love the way you bake. I’d love to see you do a comparison of all the different types of cakes, you know, sponge cake, pound cake, chiffon cake etc etc, and show how they’re all made but then also taste test them and describe the differences. As a new baker who can’t decide what to make next it would be so helpful, and when you explain how something tastes I get it.

Fun fact: my dad is one of the engineers who developed the machine used to make Calippo shots 😄 He told me that it wasn‘t a trivial challenge to produce them in that shape in these large quantities.
Right?! He’s done a bunch of cool stuff. At one point, he was also involved in the European space programme (in a minor capacity, obviously!). I think his job was to do with testing the fuel for the Ariane 5 rocket.
Oh, and we got to test Calippo Shots before they were actually on the market 😄 They were first named Calippo Shots, then Solero Shots (at least in Germany - maybe not everywhere), and then they returned to the name Calippo Shots. Good times.
usually the reason commercially produced cakes have that really soft texture is because they're made with vegetable oil rather than butter because butter is spenny!!

I loved the baker boys lemon cupcakes! Yum! They were such a different consistency than other cupcakes 🧁! They used to sell crisps back in the mid seventies and they came in a gold packet and had I loved the beef flavour when I came out of swimming once a week- that was my treat! They just hold the wonderful tasty memories for me and I thought I was the bomb when I was walking to the car with my gold bag of crisps!!

I honestly have been craving this meal lately! It was interesting to see beans placed ontop of a normal pizza... I don't think I'd enjoy it at all compared to this childhood fave.

In Australia we have Ritz and we have Ritz ‘sweet n salty’ which it literally 2 ritz with chocolate in the middle, they also have a vanilla chocolate one! (No a Collab with dairy milk). But they’re also dairy free 😍

Since you like salty sweet and peanut butter you should try my favorite snack.Smear peanut butter on a saltine cracker and top with marshmallows. Pop it in the microwave and cook for like 30 to 40 seconds...this is so delicious.
Those chocolate cupcakes sound quite similar to cupcakes Aldi has here in Germany . They have smarties on top of the chocolate though. Maybe you have them in England too?
Hello my Grace! I have actually gotten into the wrong car during a horrible storm! When I got into the vehicle, I realized how bad it smelled! The time I gotten out that vehicle and into mine! I found my car and was so happy to be it in! Then the shock hit me, oh boy I hope that now one saw that! I was wet to my underwear, I was grateful that now one saw this! To this day, why did this person leave their vehicle unlocked! Lol! It was a silver Ford Escape, same as mine! Lol! I will never forget that moment!

I used to live in Singapore as a kid and there was this Australian corn snack called 'Twisties', which came in chicken, cheese, or seafood flavour. I would give anything for a bag of the chicken flavour!!
As an Aussie I can confirm that Twisties as still very much a thing!! Although only chicken and cheese... can't say I've ever seen seafood haha.

I want to know what happened to Chelsea buns.They were my favourite sweet treat (aside from Ben and Jerrys Vermonster) *sigh* ,why do these companies bring out delicious foods ,then when we`re all hooked on them ,remove them from the supermarkets? Oh and Angel Delight and Instant whip...heaven during my childhood.:)
Do you remember those marshmallows that were sandwiched between 2 ice cream cone, type of waffles, not sure if they’re discontinued though, but also Calipo Shots were the best, especially if you let it melt a bit, it would be like a slushy.

In Germany we’ve still got a Milka chocolate bar with Tuc (a salty cracker) on top. It’s so good!
In Australia we have Ritz and we have Ritz ‘sweet n salty’ which it literally 2 ritz with chocolate in the middle, they also have a vanilla chocolate one! (No a Collab with dairy milk). But they’re also dairy free 😍
In australia we sell the ritz chocolate sandwhiches in chocolate and vanilla flavours they’re somewhat “new” I’m not sure if they were a thing back in the day here or not but they’re very good!!

You could try Milka Tuc which is the same as Cadbury Ritz but Im not sure if you have Milks Tuc in the UK. At least in Germany we have them all over the place. Oh and I also haven't seen the Calippo Shots in Germany in years but I remember getting them in my childhood

Fun fact: the Ritz + Cadbury existed in France with two completely separate brands : Milka chocolate and Tuc crackers.
It turns out that all of these brands are owned by the same company : Mondelez.

Nabisco ( owns ritz) and Cadberry ( Kraft food) used to be owned by the same company. Than later split. That’s probably why they where discontinued.
Since you like salty sweet and peanut butter you should try my favorite snack.Smear peanut butter on a saltine cracker and top with marshmallows. Pop it in the microwave and cook for like 30 to 40 seconds...this is so delicious.
Those chocolate cupcakes sound quite similar to cupcakes Aldi has here in Germany . They have smarties on top of the chocolate though. Maybe you have them in England too?
Hello my Grace! I have actually gotten into the wrong car during a horrible storm! When I got into the vehicle, I realized how bad it smelled! The time I gotten out that vehicle and into mine! I found my car and was so happy to be it in! Then the shock hit me, oh boy I hope that now one saw that! I was wet to my underwear, I was grateful that now one saw this! To this day, why did this person leave their vehicle unlocked! Lol!

EVERY TIME it was someones birthday in primary school they would bring in boxes of bakin boy cakes and share them in class before it was home time 😢 I MISS THEM SO MUCH
