Giovanni da Palestrina was a gift of the Lord to us... Sent to us by God, Himself, to alleviate a little bit the immense pain of knowing the size of our mediocrity. Thank you, Lord, for creating Harmony and Harmonizers! Wonderful singers as well... :)
Since I first heard a cappella music from the Renaissance and then had the chance to sing it as a countertenor at the age of 17, I have always loved that kind of music. The interweaving of all the parts that come and go like the waves of the sea, has such a beauty in it. If I had known that a break of only three months would cost me my high register, I guess I would still sing in an ensemble...
This is just superb, an all time fabulous piece, an all time fabulous magnificat, and one suspects, an all time fabulous rendition and reproduction, hats off!
A new track from V8 is my very favorite thing to wake up to. Exquisite, as always. And that last note…chills. My day is off to the best start. Thank you so much and be well. 🙂🧡
First: this almost brought me to tears. As always, incredible technique, performance, stage; beyond words. 2. I am super curious as to how you decide where to place the voices, as sometimes the sopranos are placed right next to the bass, or in other videos I have always noticed you not only challenge traditional chorus formation, but are always playing with the spots and the general formation. Thanks so so much for the joy and the incredible music you are always sharing with us!
Please please can you record the Victoria magnificat primi toni (with 2nd et misericordia) as there is only 1 half decent recording I have managed to find in all my life! Your sound is so much better! Please please! Followed by Palestrina nunc a 8 makes for the perfect evensong.
I love you so much-you're all so talented, good-looking and amazing on camera.Amazing presence and personality! May I suggest a bit more tailoring for the men? It can be distracting on video if clothes are not neat and precise-said with much love! Don't mean to offend anyone. You are all so good-looking!!
I am not a Bond Street tailor, but I'm pretty sure your sartorial comments do not apply to this video. On another subject: have you noticed how many choirs, orchestras, duets, soloists, etc., etc. are made up of the most amazingly gorgeous people? TH-cam gives you a chance to see example after example.
4 min and 46 sec ago, I would have said pop is my favorite genre.
Now I think my ears are in love.
Fantastici e meravigliosa questa musica!
When they hit that spectacularly long, " Amen" it is as if their singing practically opened the Gates of Heaven!

FEELS LIKE I'M ON HEAVEN
When they sang that spectacular, "Amen" it is as if I had seen the Gates of Heaven open, and had glimpsed the Beatific Vision of God!
When all of the singers are top-level professionals, you can get such a tremendous sound out of a very few voices. Magnificent!

Magnificent! Perfection in the shape of voices.
Fantastische Stimmen.
Superb. I suspect singing like this takes an enormous amount of practice and inherent talent, yet it sounds so seamless and easy. I'm a big fan.
A lot of hard work goes into making it look easy...
