I have been a choir director for 40 years , and in my life ….I have never heard a more glorious sound ….absolute perfection ….heaven! Best vocal group ever . I’m in awe ….thank you for a moment of heaven here on earth .
Greetings from South Africa. In preparation for the Holy week, I replayed song . I crumbled and cried uncontrollably from these heavenly voices. Oh Gracious Lord, forgive us our sins. We adore you profusely. Thank you Voces8 , be blessed
A pile of dust that is what we are and will be. Breathtaking music that reminds us of the brevity of our lives and how we need to make every moment matter.
I love everything Voces8 releases but this particular piece has a special place in my heart. It touches the soul so deeply. A sense of peace and innocent beauty washes over me...thank you so much!
This is like a dream....similar to being back as a young-adult with friends in a choir or acapella group and you begin a vocalise that you do not want to end, because you somehow achieved a harmonic nirvana...No? Just me? Anyway, Stunning!
I feel this way all the time. Performing in music is so astounding and impermanent. The feeling is there, a group effort, and then once people stop making sound it's gone! It's so simple, but so beautiful to behold.
Yes, Drew. But the Beauty that is the music does not ever cease. What happens is that singers and choirs make it suddenly present for our ears to hear, our hearts to feel, our links to meld with others around us. And when they stop singing, part of us knows that the magic is still there, but just less visible.
Death is indeed the door to a better - no, the perfect - world for those who believe and accept Jesus' gift. It leads from the provisional into the true life.
I cannot express how totally stunning this is. Every nite, every phrase and raised eyebrow expresses an infinite amount. In all the current horror and inhumanity, this is a true oasis of beauty and serenity Thank you for being part of this world
I came across this as I was searching for a phono tuition for scene suspended by Jon Hopkins. He is my absolute hero. I really hope he has seen this before as it’s simply stunning. Sine which I have checked out quite a few other videos of voices8. They are amazing. This particular song does stand out for me though.
Not a single word uttered yet so much communicated. Music truly is a magical medium. For the good of humanity, please sing Geistliches Lied Op. 30 by Brahms. The world needs it. I need it
While I feel I am utterly grasping at straws when I come to imagine what it took to create this, what it takes to perform it, and what it may take to reach such altitudes again in composition and performance, I know one thing is for sure; I'm so thankful. I'm just so incredibly thankful for being in this moment now, experiencing this second with all of you.
I am so very grateful for the gift you give. Thank you for contributing such wonderful energy with those around the world. May we all strive to spread such light.
I started listening on my laptop speakers and had to stop a few moments in because I knew this deserved better. Ran and grabbed my high-end headphones are SO GLAD I did. Thank you voces8 for making my shitty day a lot brighter with your beautiful music.
What a moving piece. I am just becoming aware of Voces8 and my life is better for it. This song is five minutes long with half of that just recovering from that insane climax. Bravo for an incredible performance and experience.
Ooh indeed. Totally beautiful. Huge fan. Can’t wait to see them live again after much too long locked indoors. Voces 8 are truly one of the very small number of things that have helped me keep sane (relatively) over the last 2 years.
Earth to Earth.. Ashes to Ashes.. Dust to Dust… The way Voces8 deliver Johann’s pile of dust is just so bittersweet and just so perfect for a funeral; we die, we ascend into heaven whilst our bodies turn to dust… Thank you again Voces8. 🖤🖤🖤
I have commented on this video before but I don't care :) It's just so utterly beautiful and striking, with the build-up and the calmness after the climax. This piece just touches something deep in my soul, it makes me cry so often and I don't know why.
Un enchantement qui se renouvelle à chaque audition de votre merveilleux repertoire. Un toulousain fidèle à vos concerts quand vous honorez la ville rose de votre visite.
This piece truly shows the incredible skill you have as Voces8! Everything is so intentional and controlled, yet you can see the joy and delight. Absolutely beautiful!
Voces8. - Johannsson: A Pile of Dust. (Arr, Rimmer) This stunning piece of Choral music has just blown me out of my comfort zone but in a terrific way. This choir are in no hurry to finish this emotionally beautiful piece of Choral Classic music. You could almost say it’s timeless because it’s so soothing to the soul as well as your heart ❤️ and mind too. What a delightful piece, of which, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy so much. Thank You to the Choir for performing this to perfection. Well Done All. Wonderful !!!

Это точно!
Amen to that!❤
It still amazes me how criminally underrated this is, this should have millions of views.
This is what the grace of God sounds like.

I can't listen to this piece without breaking into tears. Absolutely stunningly beautiful.

I don’t want this to stop.
There is no instrument more beautiful than the human voice.

I totally remember those moments.. It's when you think you don't want to wake from that dream...
I've been there. Understand exactly what you mean.

Just amazing. Wow. 2:48, absolutely WOW.
A gorgeous vocal tribute to a fantastic piece/composer. RIP Johann Johannsson.

Wow, that climax from 2:28 to around the 3 minute mark is outstanding! Another Voces8 performance that outshines the original.

Like Hymn for the Fallen? I agree.
Too true
Utterly beautiful delivered with perfection.
Top class 👍🇬🇧
The sound of this composition cannot be truly conveyed by my speakers, as the music is too inspiring and touching to be replicated by technology.
This takes me away to a beautiful, peaceful, calming, and happy place. Thank you for sharing this lovely video.
I wish I could hit the like button more than once. This is beautiful.
Un enchantement qui se renouvelle à chaque audition de votre merveilleux repertoire. Un toulousain fidèle à vos concerts quand vous honorez la ville rose de votre visite.

This has been the best lineup.
Magnificent! Chills all ove my body ♥
So sensual, both aurally and visually. Kudos to the lighting and photography.
I woke up to this playing at random on my IPad…what a blessing, so ethereal
Such an unusual way of making music so that it can sink into your entire body without any instruments to distract the mind .
amazing arrangement
Your fabulous voices blend beautiful to present a truly wonderful journey of the mind and spirit! Regards, Will Ortiz
Beautiful!!
Thank you so much! my hart is full of love...
