Sad but true. If Ford really wanted to compete with the Camaro ZL1, they would actually do something to address the markup. I’m a Mustang fan, but Ford disappoints with the markups.

No. Unfortunately most dealers make more money on shitty finance deals than actually moving the car. A college at work tried to get a 350R that way had a cashiers check in hand for MSRP, the dealer basically told him he would get the markup AND Finance from the next guy so why would he sell it for cash? Sad part is, it was sold at full markup within the week so the dealer was a scumbag, but correct in his assessment. Unless Ford does something to counter it with the 500, it will be the exact same thing. My colleague ended up getting a Roush Warrior instead.

The car is gorgeous and I love it and the scenic shots but the audio quality is clipping left and right and is horrendous. Just give me a call and I can take care of all of this for you next time. ;)

As a proud owner of a GT500 and proud member of Team Shelby I'm really looking forward to this new beast to finally come out. I'll never get tired of that whipple whine and exhaust note coming together in sweet harmony. Not a fan of the automatic but I guess it's the sign of the times. Go Team Shelby and Ford Performance!

It's nice to see Ford, Dodge and Chevy are still staying true to their roots unlike companies like Mazda Toyota and Mitsubishi who have almost no modern performance line up focusing mostly on economy crossovers and SUVs.
I seriously doubt they'd sell this without a manual. Ford advertised their 10 speed auto heavily with the release of the 2018 Mustang GT but it still had the manual option. It sucks to see manual's get phased out by manufactuers like this, but as long as we still have the option, I don't mind.

The audio has been edited to give the effect that it is extremely loud, it is very obvious that it was intentionally made this way. They clearly had access to high fidelity microphones.

Mr Shelby wanted cars that would go ridiculously fast. In the modern world, that means automatic transmissions. Manuals may be more fun, but they objectively perform worse.
Ben McElyea only people who have never driven a true sequential paddle shifter complain about a stick shift. The gears still change by hand but because you don’t hold a shaft in your hand it’s not a real car. The gears are still controlled by you and change faster the only thing that’s different is people can’t blame losing the race on missed shifts anymore.

Ironic in many respects that the handling on the F's they sold overseas as family cars were better then those they put on their Muscle cars.

They certainly sell them in many countries in limited numbers - due to size/weight fuel economy they are not mass appeal (although some are illegal due to US cars regs be much lower in some areas) Many of the old classics are the most popular with collectors. C1/Original mustangs etc.

It's probably fresh off the production line. Just did a diagnosictics check on my engine with a reset, and had to drive for 1-2 days before it registered the correct mpg.

Paddle shifters indicate the car is an automatic, as there is no clutch pedal involved. I'm also very disappointed that Ford won't offer a 6 speed, guess I'll get a GT350R.

I've heard that Ford unveiled an all-new Shelby GT500 and that thing is more aggressive than the previous Shelby GT500. It doesn't have a manual transmission, it has a dual-clutch transmission. This car is so monstrous and I love it.

Mr Shelby wanted cars that would go ridiculously fast. In the modern world, that means automatic transmissions. Manuals may be more fun, but they objectively perform worse.
Ben McElyea only people who have never driven a true sequential paddle shifter complain about a stick shift. The gears still change by hand but because you don’t hold a shaft in your hand it’s not a real car.
The gears are still controlled by you and change faster the only thing that’s different is people can’t blame losing the race on missed shifts anymore.
@@01gtbdaily30 This isn't a high end exotic with a sequential. It'll likely be the joint Ford/GM 10-speed auto. Any reasonably priced DCT would be destroyed by what the aftermarket parts are going to do to this car.

For the same reason the $250k Mercedes AMG stuck with paddle shifting over the stick shift and comparable performance of the $80k viper. But there is nothing to stop you from replacing the transmission yourself

Certainly too many of them could/can do a D-strip or the stop light race but were terrible when thrown about. Not a shock really to keep the costs down they spent money on the engine and had a suspension/chassis that was junk. How long leaf springs lasted that just insane. It better than it was now. Ironic in many respects that the handling on the F's they sold overseas as family cars were better then those they put on their Muscle cars.

They certainly sell them in many countries in limited numbers - due to size/weight fuel economy they are not mass appeal (although some are illegal due to US cars regs be much lower in some areas)

Paddle shifters indicate the car is an automatic, as there is no clutch pedal involved. I'm also very disappointed that Ford won't offer a 6 speed, guess I'll get a GT350R.

This two rides can’t be compared as apples and oranges. There’s a special mustang design that you can order from ford that drag ready. Then we can talk.
