Demo made me believe again. Played it twice now turning all assists off.. This is GOTY material. Every song has been an absolutely perfectly timed master piece. The combat is tight and fast, skillbased, and very enjoyable. The fight at the end of the demo challenge mode may have been the coolest boss i have ever played. The graphics, the music, Emotional cinematics, amazingly well correographed boss attack patterns, the setting, voice acting, EVERYTHING was incredible. If the game keeps up with that demo, this is a 9 or a 10 game. Unbelievable piece of 3D art
The music, stakes and Joshua voice during that fight man..... epic 10/10 ff games feel epic with their music. Like ff15 leviathan fight

The demo was everything I was hoping this game would be. Cannot wait for 6/22
What do you mean by "skill based"? You can do more if you have more "skill" but it doesn't mean you do better. They literally designed the game so it can support a feature where you just press square to get through fights. I know some people like looking cool and flashy but I don't really care if it's not necessary. By going full action they have to cut a lot of strategy in the combat. Don't think they even have slowdown.
The demo was a blast but i hope that the talk is real for the fact that we played the 1.01 version and NOT the 1.03 one. Performance was very bad in the demo. Need to be fixed as far as perf and visual clarity goes.
I was going to buy this game anyway, but that demo…gave me chills. 6/22 can’t come soon enough. The trailers didn’t do it justice…This will probably be my game of the year
Watching it and playing it is so bombastically different. I cant believe how fun it was even at the very start where you only have like 15% of your maximum moveset and abilities

Its a great year for games. Jedi survivor, Hogwarts, Street fighter 6, Final fantasy 16, Mortal kombat 1 and Spider man 2 look amazing.
Now it is possible but it has to go up against Spider-Man 2 and Diablo and last but certainly not least tears of the kingdom so yeah

combat gameplay looks mid tbh. Linear power scaling with difficulty so you never actually power up. JRPG grind fest. A bit dated concept imo.

The fact that Soken created exactly 215 songs for this game is crazy, his music always slaps, in FF14 and now FF16 I cant wait for this game!

@@sajadalaaibrahim3205 I believe both soundtracks have the same number of discs. Soken probably didn't compose every song but supervised and worked with a team. It's usually the case for big soundtracks. Like for XV, even though Yoko Shimomura was credited as the composer, the linear notes indicated that there were 2 or 3 more composers for a large number of tracks. You also require different people arrange the tracks themselves. Like for 7R, the songs were composed by Uematsu but many composers did the arrangements.

I was already excited for Yoshi to be taking over but knowing Soken is doing the music absolutely sold this game for me for that alone. Basically giving us a playable soundtrack at that point.

Absolutely love how much Sony is marketing this game. This final week is gonna be one of the longest weeks of my life. Lol.
On Dec 8, at the game awards, when they revealed the date from the Revenge trailer. It was like 178 days till release.....do you know how long that felt for me? It felt like rhe game was gonna never release. Everyday when I got on the ps5 i always checked ff16 for how many days left and there would be days where i thought it had 82 days ledt but it was actually 80 days left and I woyod get soooo excited. Definitely playing at 11pm CT next Wednesday
@@ricaroo3284 Yeah man, we've had to be so patient. To be fair though, the wait wasn't as bad as other recent FFs. The fact that we're getting the game less than 3 years after it was officially revealed is a pleasant surprise, and it's even crazier to think that we would've gotten it sooner if it wasn't for the pandemic. I'm definitely going to stay awake to play this game at midnight. Hoping for an amazing experience.

@SeRg z I feel like it's an artstyle at this point. Like elden ring, not all of it stands out as the best looking thing ever but is generally considered to look prestine to the ones that like it's art style, which let's them be immersed
@@alexradice8163 hmm i think arystyle of final fantasy is pretty and they make pretty cutscenes....but the rest 90% of the game using real time rendering simply out of date thats mostly shows how lazy the devs are with copy paste... that don't put that much attention to detail in the gameplay itself is pretty sad :/
Elden ring does look pretty nice and unique sure it's another Japanese Devs and they usually put focus only in character faces and the rest is always out of place... In elden ring they matched environment to the characters so they look very fitting!
The demo was insane...top 5 all-time prologues in a videogame!

This game just looks absolutely incredible!
As long as you only play it at 30fps and Native 1440p.
The voice acting improved greatly. I wasn't rolling my eyes from how they sounded, mannerisms and dialog.

@amidnightstroll376 that is true in some games, but I've also tried the fidelity mode and it's still looks off with motion blur. Maybe it's just me 🤷♂️

@@tarikl3105 From what I understand, the version of the demo we got was 1.01 for the prologue, but the release is going to be 1.03. Supposedly a lot of the framerate drop issues have been addressed, but time will tell. I am sure there will still be some frame drops, but hopefully they won't be too noticeable.
Just finished Shadowbringers and now I get to play this before going back for Endwalker... Yoshi-P and his team simply deliver the best Final Fantasy experiences and I'm so thankful.

Suffice to say, I’m FKN ready for FFXVI dawg. CBUIII, I’ll be there no matter what.
XVI, Rebirth, 14 7.0 and the rumoured FF9 and Tactics Remakes. Final Fantasy is FKN BACK.

I am extremely excited for FFXVI, I played the demo and it was awesome. If the demo is representative of the rest of the game we are gonna enjoy this game very much. But you cannot compare TotK and FFXVI, they are very different games. We still don't have FFXVI out, so we cannot say it will be GOTY material for sure, but if it is and it doesn't win, the merit is on TotK, which is a marvelous game and it is currently (by far) the best game of the year. So... yeah. No point on discussing about this things! Just enjoys as many excellent games as possible and recognize ALL the developers that made an incredible work on those games :)

Demo was super fun. One thing I would want them to fix is the running. Turning feels so stiff compared to everything else. It’s like floating side to side lol.

Dude, I love FF but let's be real. This game isn't competing with TotK and Starfield. It isn't even in the same realm. I may enjoy it more than TotK and Starfield, but FFXVI doesn't even stand a chance. It can be your GotY, but there is actually no reality where it's even considered over TotK and Starfield. Not to kill your hype, though. It's my favorite game this year as well.

@@SilverDreamweaver ToTK is obviously a critical darling and well received, but I wouldn't put Starfield anywhere near a GOTY contender yet. Bethesda lately has churned out some real clunkers. I have no faith that Starfield will actually run well on release, and I don't care what Todd Howard says about there being the least amount of bugs in a Bethesda game, I'll believe it when I see it. Starfield has an amazing concept and does have serious potential, but I think giving Bethesda the benefit of the doubt at this point is a fool's errand.

The demo was incredible, my only minor nitpicks that I hope are changed in the final version are the ability to tone down the motion blur, as custom control mapping. All 3 base settings are just a tiny bit off from what I would prefer.
100% they need to add for custom control mapping. I can get used to the default layout, but I’d enjoy the game if I had my own settings.

Get yourself a duel sense edge is what they will say.
@@beingmda it would only take some minor tweaks to feel way better too. With A as a base I’d swap L1 and triangle and R1 and circle. I feel like that would just be way more intuitive.

I usually don't really care too much about how some games use the dualsense, but after playing this demo... This team really knows how to make it part of the visual and audible experience 🔥🔥🔥
The haptic feedback when characters walk, open doors, etc is simple yet so effective to me

For not being a fan of Final Fantasy before. The demo stole my heart. It’s day one purchase for me. I’m saying this this demo is a must play for or not fans of Final Fantasy. It blown me away that I’m playing the demo repeatedly till the full game comes out. Can’t wait!

I watched the trailers of Shiva fighting titan a lot but seeing that in game… holy moly😅 and of course performing the amazing combos and special Eikonic abilities feels incredible

Demo was so sick if I had one minor gripes is the Performance mode kinda switched from 60 to 30fps between gameplay and cutscenes and the audio was kinda muted even at full volume but overall yeah I’m gonna need this week to be over with

This game is a title that should be played with HDR enabled. I felt that the adjustments were clearly closer to HDR monitors than other games.
What do you mean exactly? I thought everyone with an HD tv just turned that stuff on by default 😂 No idea how it is on a monitor
@@mikev8746 In my opinion, more than any other game I have played so far, FF16 seems to emphasize an environment where HDR can be enabled rather than SDR.
The titles I have played so far express bright areas even brighter and dark areas even darker. However, in FF16, I could see things that I could not see in SDR when I switched to HDR.
I don't know if most people with HDR enabled monitors always have HDR enabled.
@@sa-Y-to Hmm interesting.. I just enable it by default. Think the only game where I deliberately turned it off was Cyberpunk. Because the guy in the Digital Foundry video explicitly stated the setting didnt work properly.
