I am so happy that I did not listen to the "FF Community" regarding not purchasing this game. I bought it and I am having a blast. People have literally complained that the game is not "turn-based". From my observation, Square Enix is all about innovation! FF16 and FFR are products of innovation! Let's go back to playing games for fun. I love both of these titles!!!!

Soken's amazing. Too early to say if he'll surpass Uematsu, but Soken's strength is composing new music in his own style that pays tribute to the lineage of FF music through leitmotif. And it still feels like Final Fantasy music even though his style's quite different from Uematsu's. You'll catch the Prelude arpeggio snuck in all over the place (eg Flow from FFXIV), and I'm pretty sure the crescendo that builds at around 0:55 in this trailer is a direct homage to the FFVI startup menu.
Just saddens me the series has evolved away from its origins. For me the swansong of the series was FFIX, truly a masterpiece. Closely followed by VI and VII.
@@Kvickification The series has always been an anthology series with evolving gameplay, however some things remain constant like the lore and themes (crystals, darkness/light, chaos, summons, etc). FF1-3, then FF4-6, then FF7-FF9, then FF10-12, FF13 & 14, then modern era FF15 and FF16. They have to keep pushing the envelope in terms of graphics and mechanics. Old turn based they haven't managed to make exciting and interesting enough for a next gen game. I don't think it would sell.
ngl, eikon fights are great and they gave me exactly that over-the-top feeling that made me love Asura's Wrath (despite that game's shortcomings) and yeah, it's definitely standing up to other great FF games in terms of epicness
The fact that this game went gold 3 months before it’s release date, a date which STILL hasn’t changed one time since it was announced, and it’s being released with no Day 1 patch shows just how confident the development team are with this game delivering a great experience

I mean clive is essentially an anomaly that changes how the way of life has been for 1000 years. He wants to destroy all the crystals, that would be like someone wanting to dry up all the Oil in the world. People would fight back and hate you for it.
Finished the game a few days ago now IDK what to do with my life. Final Fantasy games just hit different, it's always a special occasion. Really hope it wins in a category for this year's Game Awards.
Some of these storylines hit a bit too hard for me (I'm still hurt by FFX and other games lol), and I'm not bothered by mature games with blood, gore, etc. But some of the character stories in FF games can have some pretty heavy themes. FFX especially, the implications of who your main character is is disturbing and sad.
After finishing the game, this will go down as the most epic and visually stunning Final Fantasy installment created so far. That magnificent Bahamut fight alone is GOTY material and Dion is easily one of the most GOATed characters in the franchise.

The name "Clive" is derived from the word "Cleave." Which means to split, but at the same time can mean to come together. Very interesting to know when someone pointed that out to me.

As much as i would love that, its probably not going to be 16, even if it is my GOTY and yours. Spiderman 2, Tears of the kingdom etc will have a much easier time winning.
@@SirSabzZa I do commend your realistic outlook. FF and LoZ are both arguably well-known. I think we are going to get an amazing FF game that will restore some faith in the series. However, I believe what makes LoZ more of a contender is just simply the merit behind its titles. FF has been very shakey with its reception amongst gamers while LoZ had kept a general positive reception overall.

If you can be sure of one thing, its the game will be functional and working on launch, which is a rarity nowadays.
Every time I hear the Main Theme of Final Fantasy it gives me goosebumps. Such an incredible trailer. Yoshida saying that "if life has been hard for you, this is the game for you" is already tugging at my heartstrings. I'm ready for the sixteenth chapter of Final Fantasy. Even hearing "We don't need your salvation. We'll save ourselves. And we'll do it on our own terms" sends chills down my 31 year old spine. I've been following Final Fantasy since I was a teenager playing the classics on GBA. I'M READY TO CRY!
Yea the marketing machine is getting you already, they know this has nothing to do with Final Fantasy so they put in some Final Fantasy music to remind people that it is a Final Fantasy game. Too me it looks more as a DMC game.

@@KVR020 Sorry but if you think that final fantasy was ever defined simply by the turn based combat system many of the older games had then your really not much of a fan. As someone who has played many of the older titles including both the MMO’s it’s pretty clear to me that this is a step in the right direction. If the gameplay isn’t to your liking then that’s fine but final fantasy was never defined by its combat systems.

The devs said there won't even be a day 1 patch. And they finished it 3 months ahead of schedule. THAT is how confident they are in the build

No day 1 patch is not indicative of a great experience whatsoever. That's fundamentally not how software engineering of anything works.

@@KVR020 Sorry but if you think that final fantasy was ever defined simply by the turn based combat system many of the older games had then your really not much of a fan. As someone who has played many of the older titles including both the MMO’s it’s pretty clear to me that this is a step in the right direction. If the gameplay isn’t to your liking then that’s fine but final fantasy was never defined by its combat systems.
@@KVR020if you think FF is defined by its combat then you haven’t been a fan since FFIX. If you don’t like the non-turn based, that’s fine, but you don’t get to say it’s not Final Fantasy when the last 7, including this, have all strayed farther and farther away from traditional turn based. The series evolved, as it always has, with the times. That is what makes this game a FF game, it’s evolution and understanding its place in today’s world

If you mean FF7 remake, there was millions literally beggin for it to happen. Sure it's not exactly a remake but it was phenomenal and very well received and sold over 3.5million copies in 3 days. some vocal minority ff7 purists will yell from rooftops and try convince otherwise but they are easily ignored when you look at facts
